Just a slight increase in noise. The acceleration is real fun in ECT mode.

The K & N filter sharpens the throttle response but also increases the engine noise at idle. A nice easy mod for about £38.

I've just updated to version E14(2011) from the original 2006 disc. There are a few differences in the maps, and now i can input destinations whilst on the move. Bought my new disc on ebay for £61.99 for a set of four discs.

It's quite normal. Mine smokes like a chainsmoker outside a pub every winter. Even after a long run it will smoke at the traffic lights. It is actually just steam not smoke.

Wheels arrived today along with spigot rings. A nice fit and a good price.

I replaced my originals with 6000k bulbs. Shines a very slight blue tint, and so much brighter than 4300k. Now i have to do the sidelights.

The criteria is as follows: Must be 4 doors Must have autobox Must handle better than my IS250 Must be under £10k Simple

I just want a better handling car I guess. My wife drives a 56 plate 325i Coupe, and it just feels so much direct than my Lexus IS250. I don't fancy the newer shape Accord as I think it is too big and wide. I need 4 doors and a autobox. Tax is not really an issue but a 335i is out of my league.

Stop preaching and judging and simply answer the question. Is the BMW better than the Lexus. I do not speed on public roads and have zero points on my licence.I do attend track days on a few occasions per year. Time for me to join another forum..... P.S. I also do the school run every morning and would never endanger mine or anyone elses children.

I was looking at a used a 08 BMW. I am wise enough thank you John and probably had a few more cars than you, therefore I know what i really want. The BMW is just a better drivers car.

I have one installed in my IS250. I have not experienced in sensor problems and it has definitely increased the throttle response without sacrificing mpg. I think dave32 in misinformed:-)

I'm toying with the idea of changing my 55 plate IS250 for a BMW 330i M Sport.I have had the Lexus for only 2 years and it only has 52k on the clock, after previously owning a 53 plate Honda Accord with a 2.4 litre engine.My wife drives a BMW 325i iCoupe which is a fabulous car with a silky smooth straight six engine and autobox. The Lexus is a nice car especially in SEL trim, but even the Honda was a more involving drive. I just feel that the IS could almost drive itself home some days without any interaction from me. I do enjoy some spirited driving and just want something that will raise my pulse rate a little. I regret selling the Honda as it was a great car with all the options that were available at the time. Any thoughts ?

If you have a valet park your car you can lock the boot and glovebox for security.

I had the same fault a few weeks ago. The drivers side bulb would go off after a few minutes. It's the bulb not the ballast. Buy some bulbs on ebay and change the pair. The headlamp does not have to be removed. Theres a tutorial video on youtube.

Go for a IS300 if you must have a auto.

I just installed a K& N filter in my IS250 today, and can feel the difference in throttle response already. Car feels a bit sharper when pulling away from the lights, and a slight change in exhaust noise. Better than an OEM filter i'd say.

Forget the IS220. There are lots of IS250's available in your price range with exceptable mileages( under 70k). Just look at all the dealer ads on Ebay, Pistonheads and maybe Autotrader. I have a SEL model with all the options except a sunroof. A really comfortable ride compared to my wifes BMW 325i.

Does anyone know what is the earliest version that has the software update which allows destination changes on the move? I'm not really bothered about a new disc, but really need the updated software. Just need an old disc with the relevant software.

Sorted, loose connection of course. I have slightly upgraded to 6000k which is a very slight blue tint. Much better dispersal of light now. Even highlights the edge of the pavement now.
