This looks much better than the official Lexus iPod integration kit. -
The LS 600h has a rev counter. Its handy for telling if the engine is stopped at low speeds. Normal motorway speeds it sits around 1100 rpm.

This is something I worry about. I used to carry an emergency starter that connected through the car cig lighter socket until I found out the socket was not live until the ignition was on. So no use in a flat battery scenario. I now have a solar panel trickle charger that connects via the OBD2 socket, and use it if the car is to be left for more than a week.

Control of the iPod is done by playlists. There is no limit to the number of playlists you can have. Playlist 'one' is allways the whole library and only six playlists per screen are shown. You can't name playlists, they show as disk one to six. I carry a list which shows "Screen one playlist name 1 to 6. Screen 2 playlist 1 to 6" etc. I have the 09 600h like you, We missed out on the hard disk satnav\MP3 player by one year.

Crikey you lost me on that one. I'm sure someone can help. Mike I'll try again. My emergency power pack does not clip directly onto the car's battery terminals. It charges a flat car battery through the cigarette lighter socket, however the ingnition switch has to be in the 'accesories' position. With a starter button there has to be power in the car battery to get to the acc position. The emergency starter is not meant to replace a normal charger, rather its for use when away from home, such as returnung to an airport car park after a long trip to find a flat battery. Something like this: http://choiceful.com/categories/productdetail/20152?utm_source=google&utm_medium=product%2Bsearch

Talking of portable battery chargers, I've been carrying one around for a few months and I have just realised I have been wasting my time. The charger connects through the internal 12 volt power plug\cig lighter, and the ingnition has to be in the 'acc' position for it to work. I have a 'start button' my car and the 'acc' position is activated by pressing it with my foot off the brake. So, if the 12 volt battery is flat - no acc position. The 12 volt batt is not needed to start the engine, thats done by the traction battery. So, is there a portable charger the connects directly to the 12 volt battery? I belive it is a common occurance for hybrids to flatten the 12 volt batt if not run regularly.

That doesn't sound right ro me. In slow moving traffic, if my battery display drops to two purple bars, the engine runs until a couple of green bars show. the engine then stop\starts until puple bars show again. When on the move the traction battery shows about 4 green bars. On long decents I get all the bars lit except the last one. Never had all bars lit. Mine is an LS but its the same principle.

during the cold snap, (-7), the alarm on my 600 went off. This is the first time its done it, and if it wasn't the low temp that did it the only other thing I can think of is the cover on the front cup holder was open. I don't think I left it in that state and Ithought maybe something had contracted in the catch, causing it to fly open and set the alarm off.

Have to agree about rubbish Lexus DVD satnav. My 09 600h has the series 5 unit and it takes 4 DVDs to cover the whole of Europe, only accepts 4 figure post codes, route selection is a joke. Navigation to final destination is good though. I made the mistake of setting automatic re-routing once. It sends you all over the place just to avoide a couple of blokes leaning on shovels at the side of the road.

Just changed the filter on my 600h and the arrow on the filter indicates the way it should be fitted. ie, arrow up, according to the manual. I did not read the manual correctly before fitting and used a lot of force to get it out. I should have set the air to recirculate not outside air. Don't know if Iv'e done any damage.

I get just short of 33 mpg on long runs. 600h SWB. I'm still at the stage where I use the hybrid display as a computer game, trying to go as far and as fast as possible on battery. I can get to 40 mph on battery on the flat. Paul, like you I wanted this car as my final retirement motor. No regrets. Try a SWB if you can find one, the extra 5" on the L makes a big difference. The SWB just feels nimbler, (Iv'e had both) it also has anti-roll bars which the L does not.

I believe no HDD navigation units were fitted until 2010. My 09 LS 600 does not have it. The satnav comes with four DVDs which have to be changed when traversing Europe, the 07 I had before it only had one DVD for the whole of Europe. For music, you can have six disks of MP3 cds in the head unit, or there is an aux input in the glove box. I have the iPod integration kit fitted which works well enough. Edit: The 07 LS I had did not have an aux input. The only way to use an iPod was with a integration kit.

I have the Lexus iPod adapter from a LS 600 gen five satnav. Don't know if it will fit yours. Lexus will know.

Have to agree about the Camry. My last two cars were Camrys, the final one the V6. Fantastic engine, totally reliable. -
All sorted. The left drift was cured by fitting tyres with the same tread pattern. Dunlop Sport Max 101s all round now. The off centre steering wheel corrected by electronic adjustments to do with the steering rack. Very happy now, not so happy that the car left the forecourt in that condition, but full marks to Lexus Bristol for sorting it with no fuss. BTW if anyone would like a Lexus Ipod integration Kit I never got round to fitting or 2007\08 Satnav update disks let me know before I stick them on ebay

Its going back tomorrow. It drifts to the left and the steering wheel is slightly turned left when driving on a straight road. I've adjusted the tyres to the correct pressures (they were way out on pick up) and I noticed it does not have the same tyres on all four corners. Nearside front: Dunlop Sport Max GT. The rest Dunlop Sport Max 101. I didn't pick this up on the test drive, but I'm sure they will sort it.
