  1. Wow Nigel, now you really are working your username... :) Seriously, I applaud your generosity! (love the idea of NZ, maybe I should emigrate) Chris, I'm in a similar situation to yours, only I'm ahead by just over a year. And what a year it's been! I'm lucky that my redundancy enabled me to not only get myself a Lexus (LS430), but also gave me time for multiple holidays. I've had a fantastic time, that will finally end when I return from skiing the French Alps. Gotta go, sun's out and there's fresh snow...
  2. Does anyone remember those "Type S Tax Disc Holder & Air Freshener" that Halfords used to sell? I was gifted one some years ago, loved it, and now lament it's unavailability.
  3. Hi 'twin', your car looks nice in it's elegant dark grey. Well, I would as mine's the same. I noticed your tax disc sits in a plain round holder (no advertising to distract from the car's clean lines), however, to me it looks mounted unusually high.
  4. Often when someone's just acquired a used Lexus, I read about a multitude of no longer working features, which, to my surprise, are called "minor" problems. This got me thinking... since we're all interested in Luxury Sedans (Lexus LS's) here: What does it take for a car to be luxurious, I mean, what's the very minimum needed to qualify as a Luxury car? For me, it has to be comfortable, feature some wood in the cabin and leather too, plus a stereo with at least 4 speakers. What do you think?
  5. That really is good practical advice. Well done Steve (marvs). It would have helped me out with my previous 92LS. However, I would have needed someone else's soldering skills. Note to self: must learn how to solder. :)
  6. Common Lexus purchase advice: ignore mileage, condition is everything. Except here, where it seems to be... unless you come across one with low miles. So, mileage is important when it's low, but as those cars are rare, one might as well concentrate on condition.
  7. After scrapping my previous 92LS, I have been called a 'car killer'. However, the cost of an MOT alone meant it was a write-off. Though it drove well, there were a multitude of other problems. So, I prefer the expression 'bangernomics'. Well, having admitted my guilt, let me lead on to the reason for this posting.
