  1. Thanks for the pictures. I am probably going to go for the LED angel eyes so won't have the dimming issue. My bigger concern is retrofitting the projector. I hate the crappy oem projectors on my car and want the following setup on my car. Link
  2. Hi Exdee The angel eyes I have fitted them my self, just bought them on eBay and then when I had time removed the lights and did the installation. Took half day in total. The perforated film, I will not lie it does recuce the output by about 10% ... but I do not know how bad it will be on halogen lights. Mine being the factory standard HID look fine. And at the end of the day it is just a self adhesive film ... can be removed at any point and wipe off the glue residue with some cream :) :) only cost me £10 and I only used half the film. Thanks for your reply. Your retrofit has given me hope, that some day I'll be brave enough to transform my headlights.
  3. Looking good. A few questions: - How does this affect the light output? - Did you retrofit those angel eyes yourself or get it done from somewhere?
  4. Thanks for the clarification. The LED lamps on the LS600 were awful. I doubt these will be any good either. You will probably find your bi-xenons will have better light output than the LED headlights.
  5. Congrats. The car looks amazing!! On a separate note I was curious as to why the headlights on your car feature a single projector whereas the GS450h pictures on the official website have headlights with three projector lenses integrated. Example below:
  6. I tried BG and it has definitely improved the engine noise. The car is very smooth in slow traffic too now and doesn't slow down as quickly as it used to when you lift your foot off the accelerator. I would totally recommend this product but not sure how useful it would be on a newish car. Mine's around 5 years old.
  7. I've got the same issue on my car. I am going to try BG44K tomorrow. It worked like a miracle on my previous car.
  8. In case you are unable to find someone locally with an is250 to help you out you may want to try the independent car audio shops. I bet they won't charge you an arm and a leg for the diagnosis.
  9. SR = Sunroof i.e the car has a sunroof. A general term used in car advertisements. Nothing Lexus specific. Regarding the transmissions. The IS250 does not come with a CVT transmission so don't know why people advertise them as having CVT. Two transmissions available: - Manual - 6 Speed automatic (with and without paddle shifters)
  10. Thanks guys I am going to check the discs first for signs of overheating as I don't have a jack to lift both the rear tyres at once. I have spoken to the dealer and he's booked me in two weeks time.
  11. Hi guys, My Lexus has been in for it's 60K service last week (£1500). The rear callipers were seized and had to be replaced. Rear pads were replaced and rear tyres were replaced too. I have been driving around very gently since the service but today I kicked down from 1st through to 3rd gear (no burnout or wheel spin). The brief acceleration was in my own street. Within a minute of accelerating hard I was home and had parked my car. Upon leaving the car I could smell a very strong smell as if something was burning. I've been doing some googling and am concerned if this indicates that the new caliper has seized too? Any thoughts/comments will be highly appreciated.
  12. The boot valet switch would be my first guess. Check out the following video. I don't know if the is220d has this or not.
  13. Hi thanks for your reply. They look great. I am going to order the bulbs now. Have you changed the bulbs on your main beam? That looks bluer than the OEM colour.
  14. Hello fellow lexus owners, Just wandering if anybody has tried replacing the bulbs in the fog lamps and if so are you satisfied with the results? Basically my agenda is to replace all the bulbs at the front of the vehicle to match the the 4300k color of the OEM HID. The fog lamp bulbs are the hardest to replace so I am going to start with them. At first I was thinking of installing HIDs with 9006R bulbs but don't want to be a nuisance to oncoming traffic so I have pretty much discarded that thought. I am leaning towards LED bulbs now. Any suggestions/input is welcome. Ps: Most importantly does the is250 have Can bus?
  15. Hello all, First post on this fantastic forum. I've just bought an 07 is250 (auto) and am wandering if somebody can shed some light on this issue I've been having. Whenever I start the car from cold the engine revs in at 1500rpm. Putting the car into D or R brings down the rpm to normal but there is a slight jerk as the car moves down from 1500 to 700-800. Since Lexus is know for its refinement I am just wandering if this kind of behaviour is normal at cold starts? Thanks
