  1. Were they stock or did you fit them afterwards?
  2. I don't think hids4u have any in stock but if they did you could use the discount code 'toyota pro' to bring the price down. In terms of Kelvin try to keep it as low as possible for maximum light. 5000k is usually the minimum aftermarket bulbs go down too.
  3. Are the ones that lexus supply flat? The only reason I got mine off that website was because I wanted flat ones. The OEM one's on my car were not flat.
  4. I am talking about these. The projector is yellow in color so they are easy to spot. It's actually a very good projector and I believe it was one of the very first cars to feature a projector in the fog light.
  5. For 17 and 18" wheels it's 35F and 38R according to the owners manual when travelling at speeds less than 100MPH. I personally have mine up to 37F and 39R. I check tyre pressure at least once a month.
  6. Please make sure you get Reflector type bulbs for your kit i.e 9006R. HID's in high beams are useless since they have a warm up time once they are ignited. Stick to halogens for your highs.
  7. Do you have the is300 projector fog lights? If not you may want to consider getting them.
  8. Hi, Further to this I had my geometry and suspension checked. Pretty much brand new tyres so ruled that out too. Every technician that drove my car said it drove normally. I firmly believe that the level of assist I get has changed. The steering was feather light at first. It's a bit stiff now similar to that of a BMW. I have left it for now because it's not too bad and to be honest has a sort of sporty vibe to it. However I did plenty of research on this and the three components that could have failed are: - Power steering ecu - Power steering motor - Power steering rack The first two are not very expensive to replace. The full rack though I believe costs an arm and a leg. If you think you are low on tyre pressure you might want to get them upto 37ish front and 39ish back. That's the first thing the garage are going to do. Excessively low tyre pressure would put more stress on your motor but I think there would be some sort of safety mechanism to prevent it from breaking down. Good luck with it and keep us updated.
  9. http://www.wiperblades.co.uk/is-250-years-2005-to-2012-wiper-blades/ Drivers side is 22" and passenger side is 20". Go for flat ones. More efficient and less noisy.
  10. Depends on what size you got. OEM 17 should be easy to source. The 18's will be harder. Try ebay or your local breakers. As long as it is not bent or cracked you can always buy a used one and have it refurbished locally.
  11. Haha thanks for that. Especially the picture. I have been experimenting over the past few days and tried using the screen-wash along with the wipers too. Clears in seconds but is a little messy.
  12. Haven't seen the second video before but have seen Jay Leno's run on it. The interior looks very similar to a GS and I like it. I am not so sure about the exterior at the moment. Looks like the Lexus ES. I am pretty sure I have seen those LEDs before. Hang on found it. Look crap IMO.
  13. A q5 Cree led bulb is a lot better than a 32 led bulb. I don't think any of the Lexus vehicles have CAN BUS so there shouldn't be any errors on the dash. Makes sure you do both sides at once and only check the bulbs out then. Otherwise one side will draw more current than the other and may confuse the ECU and trigger some safety crap.
  14. Exactly! I have driven all these vehicles apart form the ampera and preferred the CT over them. The only car I liked more than the CT was the Honda Civic IMA Hybrid.
  15. I had the same issue and BG made a difference back in June. The mistake I made was, I poured BG into my tank right before a trip to Scotland and hence it was in and out of the system too quickly. It's coming back now and I had the car shiver a few days ago so I will be trying it again. I will also be getting what Geoff recommended. Going through the thread on the US forum. it is evident that carbon buildup is a serious issue on these engines. Hence, I like the idea of constantly treating your fuel.
  16. Hi James, Out of curiosity does your rpm drop when the car shivers?
  17. Yuck! I'd take stock over this any day.
  18. The CT is a different market. It wouldn't make sense if the owners of the other models fell head over heels in love with it. I do however think it's a lot better when compared to other small hybrid hatchbacks. We have both a CT and an IS in our household and I prefer the IS myself on most days. However nothing beats the feeling of making a trip to your local train station in EV mode without using the engine and hence any fuel at all. We have the SE-L version and the suspension is still admittedly stiff but not too bad. The engine noise is normal for a car with a CVT transmission and this time of the year. I think the interior is nice and very well made apart from the console where the stereo is. That bit does feel cheap. Overall still a great car and serves it purpose well.
  19. Thanks Tango. So it seems that nobody pours anything in the washer fluid to aid the defrosting. Fair enough.
  20. Tango, am I correct in assuming that it is normal for the fan to not start blowing immediately when the car is turned on if climate control is set to auto? I spend about 30 seconds on my drive after starting the car and then start rolling it gently with a light foot till the engine reaches its optimum temperature. I think the fan kicks in within half a mile or so and until then I survive on the heated seats. I mean I could override the climate control to start blowing the fan earlier but that kind of defeats the purpose of having climate control. Let me create a scenario here and ask for your advice. Let's just say you get up in the morning to leave and your car is covered in frost. You want to remove the frost and get the cabin warm asap. You start the engine and hit the wiper deicer. I am with you up-till now. Also lets just assume that the climate control is already set to auto with optimum temperature of 21.5-22. What do you do next? - Do you wait for the cars fan to kick in? Assuming this is normal and my car is not the odd one out where the fan does not kick in immediately. - Do you press 'Front' on the dash. If yes then do you increase the temperature or something? I mean by default 'Front' just throws out air conditioned air. We don't want that. The car is already cold. - Do you hit the climate button on the dash. Set the fan speed, select windscreen vent and increase the temperature. Look forward to your response. Thanks
  21. Unfortunately the chemical properties of glass do not make it possible for heat to spread through it like that. It is impossible for something that is located at the base of the screen to impact the whole screen in such a manner. This is the reason the manufacturer calls the feature a wiper deicer and not a front heated screen. :) The only logical explanation I can think of for Tango's observation is that wind may have been blowing towards the car taking the hot air at the base of the windscreen and forcing it to glide with the rest of it which resulted in the rapid defrostation of the whole screen.
  22. Sorry to hear about your loss Chris. I hope that the police and insurers take care of this rightfully and you are back on the road quickly.
  23. Only older cars have this problem. Reading through that thread one can see that the valves, pistons, direct injection engine and what not have been blamed for this. BG could be a short term solution but it will come back. Unless you do it like once a month which I am sure is not a good idea.
  24. I think you mean 'front' which demists the front windscreen with AC. Pretty sure that the is250 does not have heated front screen. So here's what I did today: - Started car and pressed both 'Font' and wiper deicer. - Waited about 2 minutes. - The AC was killing me so I hit Auto again and went inside to get the keys for my garage to get a deicer spray. - Sprayed that and screen cleared immediately I did not use the washer fluid or the wipers until after spraying the car with the deicer. This is because on my previous car the screen-wash would freeze to the screen too.
