  1. A mate of mine had been trying to cut down on cigs with a view to quitting - but never went the distance to give up. His lung collapsed last week and now he's off them - funny what you can do when you put your mind to it.
  2. Mine cost £230 plus £8 delivery from www.towequipe.co.uk I've checked out the GS and the same type of towbar (Brink detachable) costs £299 You can get a fixed towbar for about £200. Can't say for sure though, as it depends on the year of your car.
  3. Excellent reply! Thank you. I won't need the 13pin connector, which is why I wanted confirmation on what the relay was for - I think she said it was a 7 gang relay. I'll not be using the trailer very often - so the warning light won't bother me on the odd occassion I use it.
  4. http://cars.msn.co.uk/carnews/carnews5sep05/ The performance is amazing - the price tag , however, is not (~1,000,000Euro) Oh and what about this: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=26136
  5. Hello, First off, I'd like to apologise for doing this to a Lexus ( I did spend the extra money to get the detachable version) Because I'm moving into a new house in a few weeks, I'm going to need to be transporting all sorts of things which won't fit in a IS200 - and I've got a trailer, so it makes sense. Any way, my questions is about the electrics of the towbar - has any one done their own wiring - and is there any thing special about it? I was told by the sales girl that the IS needed a relay (@£26) but I didn't take it because I wasn't sure if it was just for a caravan or not. Most of you will be relieved to hear that I will never be towing a caravan. Thanks for any advice.
  6. Looks superb - will you ever be at any of the car shows with this?
  7. So you haven't used the Treo 600/650? It was my last phone - does full HTML browsing, email, wordprocessing, spreadsheets, organiser, MSN with a touch screen and full qwerty keyboard. Also useable as a video and mp3 player.
  8. Sorry - do what now?!? Motorola will be making the phone for them. http://www.iht.com/articles/2005/08/30/business/apple.php They need to do this to stay with the game. People don't want to carry a phone an MP3 player and a camera around if they can have all 3three in one package.
  9. I'm going to hold on for the Nokia N91 - I'm not sure when it's released though. http://www.nokia.com/nseries/ It's got bluetooth, wireless, MP3 player (up to 4Gb) and a 2Megapixel camera. You can surf the web and check emails for free on open WLAN hopspots.
  10. Mine was replaced under warranty too - at the 20K service.
  11. Sorry, I took the original ones apart. Bit of a tricky(risky) job though.
  12. No - he is right - it is the side repeaters on the wing. I was hoping for some advice that didn't involve spending money.
  13. Has any one removed the orange lens cap in their side repeaters? I got a set of chromed bulbs today and went to replace them only to find that the effect is kind of lost. Just want to check if anyone has any advice before I go wrecking my indicators.
  14. Unfortunatley it's only a prototype - the largest commercially available ones are only 80" (again from Samsung) and 71" from LG (See below). There was also an 83" LCD TV - and the quality of the pictures are unreal. The future is looking great :)
  15. I've just come back today from the IFA (a large consumer electronics show in Berlin) where I spotted this slightly OTT television.
  16. Read the post again - the IS250 is not a face lift model - it is a different type of car aimed at a different market. The rear light cluster that sparked a revolution in car modifying is a small part of the radical design of the IS200 - looking at it makes you feel good. It didn't come as spec'd up as a Lexus should - just enough to pass as one. The IS250 is a totally different car, designed to be pleasant to look at and be in. Lexus don't want people modifying their cars - that would imply they weren't perfect.
  17. Strathcarron Blue for me - It's the colour Lexus were using to advertise the Lexus when I bought my car - so they obviously thought it was best. I looked at a Plat Ice and the Strath Blue side by side in the show room and there was no comparison.
  18. I'm still waiting to see videos of yours in action.
  19. I've had mine on the car from new and it's going to get it's 30K service in a couple of months. There still seems to be about 8mm left on both outside front pads. If you've had your pads changed - how many miles did it take to wear yours out?
  20. How do you plan the 300+bhp - is it with a turbo? And will a converted engine be able to increase the redline?
  21. Genesis amps are nice small packages - you could look to one of those to fit. May be a bit more expensive though.
  22. When did Tesco open a store on the Nurburgring? :D
  23. When crawling in traffic on tick over you shouldn't have to use the clutch to speed up a bit - in normal mode, as soon as you touch the accelerator the car tends to lurch a bit. Pressing the snow button helps reduce this.
