  1. Thank you very much. I'll go back to them and show this information to them and let them know of your v.generous offer, hopefully I'll be able to get it fixed for free. Out of interest, what are the implications of me not getting this corrected?
  2. Doctor Bones, Here are my geometry results from yesterday - should I be concerned about my caster which is over 7 degrees. Would this indicate a problem? Last year when my geometry was done, the caster was 6deg19 - so is it a problem that is getting worse? Thank you for any light you can shed on this.
  3. Good luck with the move - I'll be joining the home owners club 2 weeks on thursday. B&Q will be such a familiar place for us - it'll feel strange when you eventually don't go there on a saturday.
  4. Just what I was thinking - and if you didn't use the clutch then the smell is most likley your clutch burning.
  5. Mine is just under 29K now - just had it's 2nd birthday on Saturday. I did 20K the first year, 10K in the second year and I predict 4K for my third year of ownership.
  6. Daewoo will be releasing a DVD recorder with 160Gb HDD soon. In the region of £200. Seems to be a nice piece of kit, takes USB and firewire.
  7. My boss had to make a mission statement for our department - he came up with the following: Mission statement "Proactive and dynamic intervention to minimise cost while maintaining safety and quality to fulfil our customers needs. " Not happy that it did our department justice, I made up a new one - I can't understand why he didn't use it..... "To Introduce, Maintain and Improve Products, Processes and Efficiencies with vigour and ability far beyond that which our salaries would suggest we are capable of."
  8. Any jobs going .... sweeper upper... ← Get your self a HNC in electronics and I could get you on as a technician. Bit far for you to commute though. It's a Korean company, so the wages leave a lot to be desired. I don't think you need to worry about a job, your company won't be able to ignore what an asset you are to them.
  9. It doesn't apply to my direct manager, who is great, but once you go up in to the corporate management then it applies. I'd gladly show it to my boss, because he'd agree with me.
  10. I love them tyres - I'll be buying four nice new ones in the next couple of weeks.
  11. Does anu one have a schematic for the IS200 electrical system In particular I'm after the wire colour codes for the rear lighting. T.I.A.
  12. Organic LED displays are the future. Once TV's start to come out with this technology, I'd imagine they will be built as true HD TV since they will be starting from scratch. I seen some at the IFA 2005 show this year and they are very impressive. But more importantly they are cheaper to manufacture than Plasma.
  13. People won't have to scrap their existing movie collections on DVD as the BlueRayRecorders will be capable of handling DVDs. And as you say - A/V enthusiasts will buy BlueRay and the Movie makers will start to release the bigger Films on this media, then more will buy BlueRay players because they see these 'special' disc at Blockbuster and curiousity will set in. It was tha same story with the introduction of DVDs.
  14. I disagree with you on that point :P Plama manufacturers are now claiming 60,000 hours of use, which if you take 5 hours of viewing a day that is about 30 years life expectancy - should be good for 10 at any rate. EDIT - oops too late
  15. Or alternatively you could have said "I disagree with you on that point"
  16. And I said "LG have released the first true high definition Plasma TV with a native resolution of 1920 x 1080p" :winky:
  17. There is such a thing as true HD TVs - there are 2 sitting in my place of work. They are CRTs though which were designed for HDTV in Japan, Korea etc. Plasma and LCD have went towards computer screen resolutions, because it was the only real HD source available in the past - that's all changing now though, LG have released the first true high definition Plasma TV with a native resolution of 1920 x 1080p. Probably won't be cheap as it's 71".
  18. Is there a brake disc avaiable that doesn't rust - motorbike brakes don't rust.
  19. Chipsaway can remove scratches? http://www.chipsaway.co.uk/repair/chipsaway.asp http://www.chipsaway.co.uk/repair/local-operator.asp
  20. Hello Dr. As some one who resides on a different island to your good self, I can't really get my geometry done at your place of work. But I was wondering if you would recommend different Geometry settings to that which Lexus provide? As a perfectionist, it wouldn't surprise me if you have developed a beeter setup. Thank in advance, Mark D
  21. Well my tow bar arrived - and I've had a look at the destructions - looks like I'll have to drill a couple of 20mm and a couple of 13mm holes in the boot floor I don't want to hurt my car - but needs must. I'm off to Espana tomorrow morning, so it'll have to wait until I return.
  22. Hi Gavin - it wasn't me. There is a car very similar to mine kicking around - bought around the same time, so even the first three digits of the Reg are the same. Bombs - in Belfast - don't be silly :P
  23. True Speed (estimated) Downstream 459 Kbps (57.4 KB/sec) 495 Kbps (inc. overheads) Upstream 241 Kbps (30.1 KB/sec) 260 Kbps (inc. overheads) 1Mb connection but a long way from the exchange.
  24. Should a 30K service cost much more than a 10K service - since they are both just an oil & filters change with inspection?
  25. I've just got mine on there. Tenacity pays off. Hopefully some more members will be joining me on my bit of land soon - only two of us over here so far.
