Yep Chris is right, it was confusing though! Holdcrofts are in Stoke (Hanley) or are they in Stafford !!! Anyway, good service they even put a sticker on my spare to say is was checked - Lexus Chester didn't do that !!!

This is quite ironic as I have just had 2 new SP9000's fitted to the front of my IS, I had friction wear and the insides were worn down. I was really really lucky though as I shopped around and got them for £86 quid each as they are being discontinued. Laser alignment was £17 as well!!! This was from a garage near Chester. I have been running standard SP9000's so far as recommended by Lexus Chester, I know what the difference is but what are the benefits? Anyway, The SP9000 has been superseeded by the SP Sport Maxx which I have been told is even better than the SP9000, has anybody fitted these yet??? As this topic comes up quite a lot surely we must be able to negotiate a group buy !

I had my 30k service in Lexus Stoke (Holdcrofts I think they're called), to be honest they are a Toyota dealer in the main, but I agree with you all they did service my car very well and it came in at £118 - beat that !!! And they washed it for me, but I didn't get any chocolates this time - which I don't mind as I am on a diet anyway. And whilst we are talking about chocolates - I know it's a nice touch but surely they build the price of these into the service anyway ?

When I first bought my Lex I thought the fuel economy was rubbish. But that was only because I have been driving diesel's for the previous 5 years (A4 19tdi & 320d). And you get used to it - I totally agree with Mat I wouldn't change my IS200 for either of the above. I tend to get around 350 - 400 to a tank which costs about £38 up here (The petrol is cheaper by far in the Northwest compared to anywhere I have travelled in the UK).... Even optimax is cheper up here than some standard unleaded in the south!

Some f****r scratched my near side passenger door with a coke can in the Trafford Centre car park and left the evidence on the floor! Can anybody recommend somewhere near to Chester (15 mile radius) to get it fixed? Will Lexus Chester do it - and does anybody have any experience of them doing bodywork repairs? Thanks guys........

I kind of agree with mattstheone on this one. I seem to have the same problem at Tesco time & time again. As I do a lot of travelling it is not just my local Tesco I have noticed it in Northampton as well!!! I got so fed up with it one day and complained about it to them and they said it was a fault in the pump and they could do nothing about it. I have also filled up in Sainsbury's and didn't have a single problem. Slightly off-topic I live inbetween Chester & Wrexham and the petrol prices here are really good compared to say Nothampton & Essex for example. Even Optimax is cheaper in Wrexham than standard unleaded in Essex.

And if I recall I voted for Mr March in the LOC calendar - my favourite picture, and it's on my wall looking at me - and look what I get in return!!!

So if I put 4 outlets & 4 large kettles and a hose pipe to cool it down will that work? Or just for good measure should I make sure that I have 8 outlets & 8 kettles just in case ? Or maybe I should just pay Fargo to do it instead! I'll bring me gear to the next meet ok mate? Anyway, thanks I think !!!

Regardless of handling The Dunlop SP9000 is the best looking by far! Why don't we have a vote? I'd buy SP9000's again - no question.

This has been done to death in the past but I wanted to know if anthing's changed. I'm getting a car kit fitted by work next week and I want to make damn sure they do a good job in my lex, advice would be appreciated on the following:- 1) Do I need a speaker fitted for the mobile car kit or can the stereo be muted now. 2) Where's the best place to fit a non damaging bracket? 3) Do I need an aerial on the back (don't really want it), can the engineers fit the aerial in the bumper / tax disc holder? Your help would be appreciated.

Mine's always had a bit of a ticky ticky sound when idle. It's done it since I had it with 6k on the clock, it now has 25k and still sounds the same. I asked the dealer and they said it was a combination of it being a 6 cylinder / vvti engine. But saying that I've test driven a Celica and that doesn't sound the same, IMHO it's the 6 cylinder engine, anyway I like the sound it make's the engine feel like it has meaning :winky: I had a flyer through the post recently from Lexus promoting the LE model, and there was a statement in there about when they designed the IS200 they wanted it to sound like nothing else - nuff said.

I was looking at lexus.com and comparing the cars like for like, I came across the spec doc & noticed that the 0-60 on an IS300 manual in the US is 6.8 seconds!!! Can anyone confirm if this is right? The only gripe I have with my IS is the headlight strength. I recently went for a drive in a range rover with hid's and they were fantastic and it's made me want some on my car. Now that the LE model is out does anybody know if Lexus will fit HID's in replace of the standard headlights? Also, if poss can we have a group buy on this? I'm really keen to have these fitted as I reckon they make a huge difference. If anybody has any info on this it would be appreciated.

SP9000's on mine and they're fantastic - I feel so in control with these babies. Previously I had Bridgestone Potenza's and they only last 17k from new! So beware! I've read elsewhere that the SP9000's are harder wearing. Also, don't pay £150 per corner as I was quoted from the high st, check out www.blackcircles.com - should be around £105 each. You should also bear in mind what tyre is on your spare, if you have to use it - be careful of mixing brands. Good luck!

Checkout newplates.com, there's loads of L200 xxx or even L20 Oxx, I fancies L20 OSQ, and moving it to L20O SQ (cool eh?) Is this illegal?

I agree with Kremmen - there are some nutters out there than can easily remember you with a private plate, if you're involved in road rage then good luck! I thought about a private plate, would love one, but couldn't do with a repeat episode of road rage. And let's be honest we've all come across this at some time of our driving life!

Does anyone know if the Dunlop SP9000's are rotational, and if so how frequently does it need to happen, what direction & what am I likely to pay in a garage to have it done.

Is Montrose Blue the replacement to Strathcaron Blue? It looks the same colour in your photo, but on the lexus website it looks completely different!

I've seen this before - repeated from last year... typical Bravo / Sky one for you! They were Gypsies, did you see the car when it pulled into the field and all the gypo's came out of their caravans !!! There must have been over 80 people there!! I did like the way the IS handled as well, I reckon they nicked the keys to take the car! I can't imagine they would bother to bypass the imobiliser / alarm !! Off-topic - John are you really a Barber, and if so do I get LOC discount??? (I live in Chester you see !)
