Went out this morning and just wiggled the red plug about and like magic the headlight comes back on... I need to get a service done soon so might just wait until then and get it looked at as well... Would people recommend going to Lexus for a full service or taking it somewhere else?

Yeah I dont really want to take it in to be honest... I have never taken the plug or connector off so don't know how its done exactly... t all looks pretty tight on the passenger side too, unlike the drivers side which seems to have a mass of space...

Hello guys... Ive been having some problems of late with my passenger side Headlight keep going out, if i then put my hand under the bonnet and behind the light it comes back on again... this has been happening now for a couple of months. It has done it again today but i cant get it back on, it does seem like a loose connection... or dodgy plug. The Lexus dealer near me has said to bring it in on Friday and a tech will have a look at it, do a free assessment... he did say it could be one of the above.... Anyone have any idea what this may cost..... They don't seem to want to give me a price until they have looked at it... Cheers

My local Timpsons is in the local Tesco store, He cut my blank blade in 5 minutes and even took the innards out and transferred because the previous owner had superglued the broken casing... He did say he could not guarantee the key as they did not supply the blade but it worked first time and still going strong...

Have to say I really like the white wheels.... What is it you have done to the Petrol cap part? Looks kinda funky....

Thanks mate.. yeah the first 2 look simpler options really, one is dim and the other is fine but it irritates me and if these are a bit better than standard ill just get a set of these... Is it a simple thing to change the bulbs?

Morning guys.... One of my headlights looks to be a bit dimmer than the other and its starting to irritate me now.... Other than getting a HID kit and doing that, are there better bulbs than other i can just directly fit in place of the current ones? Whats the best and brightest i can get without the conversion? Any advice welcome, cheers people ;-)

Cheers guys... So went out first thing this morning and checked the oil level, the level was nearer the higher of the 2 little spots on the stick... looks like its totally fine, its not even black like all of my other cars ive owned ha ha... Started the car after its been standing since yesterday morning, went straight to the back and i couldn't really tell if it was blue or not, if anything it may have had a slight blue tinge for 1 second and then nothing, only condensation. so it doesnt look like its using oil in my opinion. My neighbour decided to knock on me yesterday and say he could do the valve seals and work for £125... im kind of thinking this is a way of getting work.... any ideas?

Yeah i think its in my mind, only reason im asking is because my neighbour is a mechanic (out of work) maybe looking to do some work on my car.. lol

One more thing, i havent used the car for about 6 days... until today, so its been sitting there all that time and the blue smoke only lasted 2-3 seconds, supposedly anyway as i didnt see it...

Thanks people, i've personally never noticed it at all, i can see a little white smoke when its bloody cold but that goes once its warmed up a bit... I havent checked the oil but I will do that in the morning, so Steve you say if the oil level looks ok i should just leave it be... cheers...

Any advice appreciated Guys... Started my IS200 up today and my neighbour who is a mechanic said it smoked a little blue for a few seconds and then went white. I know it always has a bit of white smoke which is condensation etc... He said to me it is probably the Valve guide seals? Im no mechanic so i thought id ask on here, could this be the case or could it just be normal. If it is what sort of price would i be looking at for parts and to actually fix the problem? cheers people

We've just got a small amount of snow here overnight and I need to make a small journey today... I've got 18" aeros on but no idea on the tyres to be honest. Reading other posts, am I going to die and end up in a tree Lol? Cheers ;-)

A quick question, does anyone think this HID kit would be ok? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lexus-IS200-99-01-50W-9006-HID-Conversion-Kit-/220636954318 If I had someone else fit them, is it an expensive job or pretty simple for someone with the experience.

I was lucky to get a mint set on my IS200 18" in black, there's even a spare as well....

I have a 2001 IS200, it has fully working headlight washers and I keep thinking about getting nice bright lights ha ha.... Can anyone advise me... Are any of the kits on EBay any good and will it go through an MOT with them on, are they easy to fit? Might treat myself for Xmas ;-)

I dont think mine is overly smokey but i have only noticed it because my last car didn't seem to smoke at all... But as soon as its warm it stops, eyes forward and foot down ;-)

I've got 18" Lexus wheels, there kind of graphite black colour ... Very nice wheels.

I've got an auto and I get roughly 20mpg, that's just based on driving around town, I live in a small town so its stop start every 2 mins. I did a 100 mile motorway journey though and I averaged about 31mpg, I don't even care anymore I just put fuel in and drive until it says fill up, I'd rather pay a little extra and drive something I love ;-)

Yeah mine is auto... That answers thatnthen Lol. Any reason only the manual beeps, not that i want the beep though ;-)

I dont have any beeping noise when i am reversing... could it have been disabled already?
