  1. I'll have to have a look into that another time. Just looking through the books etc that came with the car it looks like the ugly sensors are indeed factory fitted ones. They look pretty ugly and stick out a good few mm. Pictures aren't great from my phone at night but you get the picture..
  2. Looks like I need to find the beeper. That's ridiculous! Surely people know when they've selected reverse? The aftermarket tat has to come out because they look cheap. There's on two fitted too. So if the PDC wasn't standard it means that everything is working. Even the pop up headlight washers!
  3. Odd. The sensors look rather ugly and stick out so thought they were aftermarket. When I engage reverse it just beeps at me. Should it be beeping constantly when in reverse?
  4. Colour is really nice but its filthy now after a 200 mile round trip.... I really wish it had NAV but ill fit that in the summer. Got some mats coming from Shorty soon. Need to get the PDC working but the rest will stay standard till it gets a bit warmer. Ill try and get some pictures up over the weekend when I've cleaned it. (Depending on snow)
  5. Well, picked it up today and all is well. Different from the 5 but ill get used to it. Not in a bad way though... PDC isn't working right I think but I'm sure with some help from here they'll be sorted soon. Even the CD player works.... Not been home yet but I took a picture when I stopped for some dinner.
  6. It's ready! Picking it up tomorrow morning before I go to work. Whoohoo! If I get back before dark (and it's not pelting it down like now) I'll get some pictures up.
  7. Well, the car has been MOT'ed yesterday (according to directgov website) and passed with no advisories so that's good. Still not had a phone call to pick it up!
  8. You shouldn't be donuting in you works van Matt! Joking aside. I can see this mandatory in every insured car in the UK in probably 10 years time. Ridiculous!
  9. Might be worth considering but I thought the increase in price on 17" winters was quite steep?
  10. That's good to know. I have come from an auto 5 to a manual IS. I really like the auto box in the 5 but it slurps too much on the very short runs I do. I looked at the standard equipment on the IS and I think it's pretty good but some bits I do not understand. The lack of OBC for instance. You probably have seen what's retrofitted to mine and I do hope I can start doing some stuff to the IS. Planning the NAV retrofit with RTV in a few months. Done it on a 5 so might be able to do the same on my IS. You're not breaking the IS in January are you? I need some Xenon lights...... Only joking..
  11. Thanks John, that will make the search a bit easier.
  12. I didn't want to read this topic but it doesn't seem too bad actually... It can only go up from now :)
  13. Are you under the same name there jasons? As in UK and AUS? Yep, but now back inthe UK full time... Recognised the name but I thought you had a GS not an IS. How is the IS compared to the 5. Not that I have any choice as the IS will be on the drive next week and the 5 in bits......
  14. That does help indeed. I really like the car to look OEM so I'll be on the search for a cheap set of rims to wrap some winter rubber round. I had exactly the same tyres on mine. I think they are brilliant. Stupidly let them go too cheap I think..... Linky thing
  15. Haha, I'll still be there even though the BMW will be gone. I've put quite a lot of effort into this car and that forum and know an awful lot of people on there. If I can share my knowledge then I will. I just need to get brushed up on the new car now and so far this forum has been excellent too! B) Are you under the same name there jasons? As in UK and AUS?
  16. They are good cars but expensive to maintain. This car has cost me a fair whack in repairs and bits. I'm not surprised that you didn't like the 3er. Been in loads but never owned one. I've had a 7-Series and now this 5-Series and they both been nice but as I said expensive to run/maintain. I probably spend the same in a month as what I've spent on our Celica in 6 years, hence the change to a Lexus. I do get the occasional compliments on how good it looks for a 14 year old car but that's probably because everything has been replaced on it... The pennies I get for breaking the thing can go nicely to buying new bits for the IS. I just hope that the retrofit possibilities are as good as on the 5.
  17. It's done 353000 miles. I think it has done it's job. There's a fair amount of money in it in bits as I've retrofitted a fair few things to it over the years. I know I'm going to miss a few things that won't be available for the IS but I'm sure I'll get used to it. And the misses likes the IS and hates the BMW so that's a bonus.
  18. I'll have to shop about next year. I just renewed the BMW two weeks ago. I didn't know I was going to buy a new car. Cancelling and taking it out somewhere else mid-term will not save me money so I'll wait. I think it's a lucky dip anyway. I used to pay 200 quid on a Saab 2.3L convertible and now more than double on this IS
  19. Who are you with Chris? I'm 37 and they quoted me £456. 10 yrs NCB and no accidents or convictions. That's more than £100 more than I'm paying for the thing in my sig with a bigger engine.
  20. Cheers for that Chris. I'll be having a read of that now. Angel eyes are nice. They are standard on my current car and I think they look good! Shame it's in a million bits by next weekend!
  21. Does anyone have pictures of the front of the car that has a HID kit fitted? I'd like to see what they look like in reflector lights.
  22. I have read numerous topics on this and I know what a difference they make. I have been using them for the last 4 winters. What I am looking for is a list (pictures and names or style numbers) with OEM alloys that will fit my IS200. Ideally 16" to keep the tyre prices and width down to save pennies on tyres and get more grip. I have Googled this also and all that comes up are non OEM boy racer alloys which is not what I want.
