  1. Nice PIcs. Welcom to the LOC Chris.
  2. Disco Stu, how are You? Welcome to the site. Many good people here. I only got my is200 over a week ago and have spoken to a number of really friendly guys here, very helpful too.
  3. It's snowing in South Wales. And I haven't got my winter tyres on yet. Was going to get them tomorrow! ?!
  4. IanS200 is breaking a is200, not sure if he has any coilovers, or if they are suitable on the is300. His post is in the buying/parts section lower down in the forum Stuart.
  5. Just checked the Lottery Results. Won on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday. £58.30 in total. 2 balls short of £18, 647, 899.00 on Tuesday. Oh Well.

  6. I'll have the lining out and have a good look at everything once the weather gets warmer. I think it is standard on the 54 sportcross as there is a light on the dash before the engine turns over.
  7. Hehehe. I fear 500 miles maybe a fantasy, but driving carefully could return 30-32 mpg without too much difficulty. Just did my tyre pressures. Offside front 38, Offside rear 41, nearside front and rear I couldn't see, but I had the macjine set to 34 and both front and rear required air. At a rough guess I think the rear could've been near 25. Slow puncture pressure I think. Anyway, now all tyres are at 34 psi and I'll keep a closer eye on this to ensure there aren't any other issues. Stuart
  8. 400 miles later. Another full tank of petrol. I filled up at 123264. So lets see if I can go a couple of miles further. 500 will be the main goal. New tyres soon.
  9. Just throw it in here, I'm a ghost. Brilliant.
  10. Hi Paul . Welcome to the site.
  11. Will continue to monitor and inform. That 404 miles was done on a full tank until needing to stop. I'm sure the fuel economy woul be slightly better if I ran half tanks instead. Driving a Lexus calmly probably defeat the object, everybody behind me is expecting me to put my foot down, but heyho, I'm having fun. Heated Seats. Mmmmmm
  12. On Tuesday I posted a pic after filling up with petrol. 122891 miles on the clock. I've been hoping and praying that I can get my is200 Sportcross to be frugal. I filled up today. 60.13 litres went in. I'd driven 404 miles before the light came on to say I was running low, but it's got a 70litre tank? So I still had nearly ten litres left? Anyway. 404 miles travelled on 60.13 litres of fuel. Mainly b roads between Caerphilly, Newport and Cardiff and occasionally using Snow Mode to restrict acceleration. 30.54 mpg. 30.54mpg. Those who know the Welsh roads know how hilly they are and you cannot avoid quite heavy acceleration, so to get an average mpg of 30.54 from my is200, I'm amazed. And I haven't done anything to the catalytic converters, I've just been driving cautiously like a priest. It isn't fun or cool. Stuart.
  13. Hi Zaphod. Good luck with searching. I got myself an is200 last weekend and wish I'd been a bit more patient. The problems are small, but I seem to keep finding more issues. I'm very happy with the drive, comfort and luxury. Hopefully you'll have your 400 soon and maybe we'll get a Welsh meet together through loc. Stuart.
  14. Indeed, it suddenly becomes a great society to be a part of, not just the luxury of the car.
  15. Interpretation of the figures is a mensa teaser. In 1997 the LS range was no longer 'just the 400' so the figures dropped dramatically and 2001 was the last year the 400 was available. I think the 430 and 460 were the ones left before the 600 replaced them. Apologies if I've got the car codes wrong.
  16. Brilliant. According to that site, only 1 LS400 was licenced in 1989, but 92 in 1990. I wonder if the 1989 car was an import?
  17. Maybe we can all have a word with your wife for you? You may also have to find a year 1 model. Were they not USA only until 1992/1993? I'm sure the earliest LS400 I've seen is K reg. Lexus started selling LS400 in the UK in 1990. I'm pretty sure Lexus Cambridge was the first dealership in its own right in the UK (not bolted onto a Toyota dealer) First LS sold on the 5th June 1990 making it a G reg. 41 dedicated Lexus dealers on that day which had spent approx £6 million each for the franchise Wow, thanks for that Graham. Is there information available through Dvla to find out how many LS400'S from 1990 are still on the road?
  18. Really? I fitted taxi meters and radios to a few of these when they first came out. The quality and fit of the interior trim was shocking, even by 80s standards, our fleet of 70s Datsuns were streets ahead in every way. The last two montegos listed on ebay were both on for more than £2000.00. The Maestro's are a little cheaper. MKII Vauxhall Cavaliers are selling for well over a grand now, convertible sri's are where the money is. £3500.00 for good examples with service history. Yet K reg LS400's are on ebay and autotrader for less than a grand!?!

Lexus started selling LS400 in the UK in 1990. I'm pretty sure Lexus Cambridge was the first dealership in its own right in the UK (not bolted onto a Toyota dealer) Okay, so there should be some G reg or H reg LS400's out there? This isn't the start of a serious search, but if I were looking for a usable classic, I'd look at having a Year 1 LS400. People are still over looking them, whereas the price of Austin Montego's are now around £2000. Ford Sierra xr4i, similar prices. Stuart.
  20. is about to watch The Bourne Ultimatum

  22. I do like the LS' s. If I had enough spare cash and my wife in agreement, I would like to get a year 1 (1989) LS400.
