  1. Well there is a 58 plate at Lexus Wolverhampton with 55k miles for £24,860 - overpriced?
  2. I would definitely have number 2. I would also have liked a proper trip computer. It is useful sometimes to know how long a journey has taken, how much fuel used for that journey etc.
  3. I got a call this afternoon. I suppose the first buyers that might be interested are owners of ISFs looking to upgrade. It did get me thinking. What a publicity coup. Lexus jet out ISF owners to Spain to test drive their latest performance car. Not that I'm complaining though. Maybe to raise its profile they might let us drive a demonstrator in UK for month to report real world driving experience. Now that would be nice. I think BMW did something similar with the M3/4, but in the UK. Not so lavish though. Anyway I'm going.
  4. Just got my invite. Hmm they must be scratching around. Anyway cannot miss this opportunity!
  5. I am awaiting a response from Lexus Leicester. In the meantime I have printed off the screens from the Lexus website confirming my car is not affected. I will keep this as evidence, if something crops up later.
  6. Mine is affected. Thanks Andy for the information.
  7. Peter I certainly did enjoy it. The noise when you are downshifting at 4,000rpm is simply music to the ears (for me). I thought about Brandshatch, as it was a lot closer (Bedford was 75 miles away). However, being my first time on track Bedford seemed to suit, as there is virtually nothing to crash into (other than another car of course). I might try another track in the Summer. In the mean time I will save for some tyres and brake pads. You will thoroughly enjoy your car on track, nothing like it! Andrew
  8. I seldom take my car beyond 4,000rpm so I thought as the car was tried and tested on a track, why not take it to one. I have just returned from the Bedford Autodrome GT circuit and what a car this is! Most of you know this already, but taking it up to the rev limiter in 1st, 2nd and 3rd and way the speed and the sound increases is something else. I had some tuition and the instructor was iching to have a go. Also he said the usual thing in that he did not know Lexus made a car like this. Anyway, it rained all days and therefore, I had to take it easy, plus I am a novice. I bottled it at 125mph down the straight, as I thought it might aquaplane. However, a M3 past me, which must have been doing 140mph! If you get a good exist and are confident on the brakes, in the dry if think 150mph is possible. It is not all about top speed for me. It is about how this car can be a daily driver and when need be do a good job on track. The brakes held up well and actually feel better now in normal driving. The engine is smoother too. The rear tyres are fine, but the osf looks like it may have lost a couple of mill. In all it was a very fun day, met some nice people, there were Evo's, GT3's, lots of different cars there. I ran off the track about 4 times, no spins though. I know some here prefer not to take their ISF track, but I think my one feels better for it. Cheers
  9. Sounds like you had a lovely drive. I did something similar, a few years ago. I drove to Barcelona in my then LS400. Did you drive through the Pyrenees?
  10. I noticed there is an 11 plate on eBay. Would be interested to know if the reserve is met. Currently at £8k. Looks fantastic!
  11. Just confirmed that warranty for £795 for 24 months is available see email below. He does say service packages, but I'm sure he means the warranty. I will get some paperwork tomorrow to review. Just under £400 per year is good value, considering the prices that some marques will charge. 'Good to hear from you again. You are correct, there is an offer for service packages at the moment. 2 years for the price of 1. For the IS-F £795 for a further 24 months cover, purchased from the dealer. Let me know if you want to go ahead and I can set this up for you. You will have to be quick though Andrew as the programme has been more successful than Lexus imagined and there is talk of ending it'
  12. My warranty runs out next month, I am awaiting a return call from the Leicester dealership to confirm if this deal is available. Is this offer published anywhere?
  13. As Stu said, Woodford is an official dealer. The service was a 5 yr one, therefore intermediate.
  14. Hi Peter I am finding it ok. Admittedly now when I select park I can hear a slight clicking noise, but the doors do not unlock. My main reason for changing this was that at traffic lights or jams the doors are not open when parked (I feel a bit 'exposed'). Actually I will need to check whether the doors automatically lock now, once i reach a certain speed. Being a novice high speed driver, as discussed and recommended by you, Brands Hatch is likely be the track. I will however look at others. I did ask the service guy at Woodford about tracking the car. He simply said to inflate the tyres, check the oil and water levels and your good to go! There is more to this I know.
  15. £548 from Lexus protected NCB. Admiral will now do it for £499 like for like. My renewal with Admiral was originally £600! Too late now I'm committed to Lexus for a year. Should not have left it to the last minute.
  16. My car had its 5 year service yesterday and everything was ok (£295). The service was carried out at Woodford. The couple of points I raised with them have been resolved. These were: The doors unlocking when the gear selector is placed in park. Now no longer the case (computer reset). The brakes that grind when the pedal is depressed. They checked the brakes and disks and said they were ok. If anything it might be the type of pads used, as they are not original Lexus pads. These paid were fitted before I had the car. As the car has fsh from Lexus, I assume the previous owner took the decision to fit different ones. The service guy said that considering the original pads (front) are over £400, some owners choose a different brand that suits their driving style. The Lexus ones are a compromise between road and track. I will look into the change after my track day, which I will be booking soon. Oh, I was told that their Dealership will be one of the first to get a RC F, in January 2015.
  17. Thank's Peter and Roheel for fitting the lights for me, much appreciated. Nice to catch up with you guys. It was also a nice 90mph run down the A2 and back. Cheers
  18. I think you are right about the prices for good ones being in the £20k's. If the seller is prepared to wait, with the limited supply, they should achieve a good price. The dealers know this therefore they are not willing to take much off their prices. Well I did not get much off mine anyway!
