  1. Interesting. My final payment in Sept 16 is about £9k to keep the car. There is no way based on your offer that mine will be worth £9k. Well anyway I will enjoy it for now and simply hand it back in 2016.
  2. I have just noticed a couple of ISF’s on the Lexus website, which appear to have been leased (or purchased) and now returned after 3 yrs (nearly). When new they would have cost around £57k and are now retailing for £31,950. I have access to Glass’s guide at work and trade for March was £29k. I would imagine they were traded for less than that though. If these prices can be achieved, depreciation is not too bad at all. Bodes well for older models, hopefully.
  3. Well my 3 previous cars in 18 months were Honda's: Civic Type R, Legend and a Jazz. My expectations, well I knew the ride would quite hard (not as hard as the Type R though ). I did not realise how fast it would be and the noise. The reactions from other people on start up is interesting. I love it! Only paranoid about scuffing the wheels. It has happened once already in a multi story car park. I do really need to open it up though. Driving in and around London is not good.
  4. Did you consider any other hybrid. It seems Merc do one too. I had a loan hybrid for the weekend many years ago and I was very impressed. I'm just thinking when I change my current car, I might try out all the luxury one's on the market. I understand the German brands (hybrids) are not really for the UK market. The American's and some other markets don't like diesels.
  5. I recently watched a review of the new GS450h by Fifth Gear and what occurred to me was this: Why would the car be compared to the BMW 535d and other diesels, when BMW make and sell a hybrid in the UK, I believe Audi make a A6 hybrid too? There were references to the car being £50k and too expensive. I specced a 5 series hybrid (sad I know) to £60k! The Audi I think is a 2 litre so not sure it can compare, although journalists will. Jason Plato thought the car was good though. It would be useful to compare like for like for a better comparison, which might make things a little more interesting. Owners of this model, being objective, did you consider the BMW or other prestige hybrids before buying your GS?
  6. Blimey, how can you get 31.4 on the motorway. Please tell me at what speed were you driving to get 31? Hmm, maybe my brief motorway excursions should be reduced to 60mph instead 90mph. 23mpg on my last motorway drive. It was not that long though, 20 miles.
  7. May be an analogue clock positioned higher up on the dashboard, like the new IS. Better still if it was in the navigation display. In terms of the doors unlocking, I will check that with the dealer.
  8. I would change the digital clock. A car costing close to £60k should have a better timepiece. A trip computer that can tell you the duration of each journey (unless it is there and I have not found it)! The doors should not unlock when I put the gear lever in park, i do not drive a taxi! A touch more legroom in the back.
  9. I considered a M135i. The car was compact, very fast and sounded great. When I stepped back and looked at it, I thought it was a bit too plain. I also really wanted a M5 and I never test drove one. However, the stories of very high maintenance and when will I get the chance to take it up to 8000rpm to hear it sing put me off. I still might get one though!
  10. Keith_W You are correct. The manual states that the tank average is the average fuel consumption after refueling.
  11. I think it is reset each time you open the fuel flap. I have never tried a reset by simply opening and closing the fuel flap though.
  12. Thanks, More reassurance. Yeah the article was interesting. I thought they may have explained a bit more about the quad pipes not being attached (I think they look cool). You know rivals seem to discount the car on that item alone. Their loss!
  13. Just before my query, I noticed this article from Toyota about the IS F. Most of you may have read this already. Interesting that Toyota describe the car as an IS F and not IS-F http://media.toyota.co.uk/wp-content/files_mf/13209520271319283453isf.pdf Query I have noticed that when the car is on full lock (especially when I first drive off) the tyres seem to be scrubbing. It is difficult to describe. It feels like the front tyres are struggling for grip and it is a bit off putting. If I move really slowly it does not happen. Reassuringly, some drivers in America (Clublex.com) have had the same problem and have been advised (by Lexus) that there is nothing to worry about. Have any of you guys experienced this?
  14. True. I was figuring the car will be 7 yrs old with say 52k miles. The balancing payment is approx £9k, will it be worth alot more, will I have people clamouring to buy it? Thats for a different thread. I suppose the additional cost of Lexus servicing is not going to kill me. I will wait until the next service arrives (July) and decide then.
  15. Hmm, as my car is leased and I intend to hand it back after 3yrs, I'm wondering whether servicing at Lexus is necessary?
  16. I have had the car a few months now and can advise that the brakes feel better. They don't feel like the other heavy powerful cars I have had. Anyway, the stopping power is great so I will roll with it.
  17. Cool. I bought my one from Lexus Leicester about two months ago. Did you deal with Jeff?
  18. I agree with you. However, there are some who are clearly willing to pay the extra for the kudos of driving a M3 or a C63. Plus I think that the price gap is getting closer between these cars. All these types of car will be difficult to sell and as they get older, reliability becomes a big factor. I tend to read that M3/C63 should not be bought without a warranty, which can cost up to a £1k a year. Hmm in saying that I have been quoted about a grand for a Lexus warranty! The C63 appeals to me with that glorious exhaust note, but factoring in the other costs, as a compromise the ISF is the one for me.
  19. I don't think the used values will be hit hard when and if a new ISF comes out. It really depends on how good the car is compared to its rivals. In any case no matter how good it is, it always be behind the German brands according to UK journalists. If it happens to trump the M3, who knows people who can't afford the new model may show interest in the used ones. I know mine will drop quite a bit in value when I come to sell it. However, I have accepted this and have mentally written of the money paid/paying for the car. I plan to have some long continental trips in the years to come. My LS400 took me to Barcelona and back, miles of trouble free motoring.
