  1. Sorry to read this sad tale Isee. If my recent experience is anything to go by, the Exchange Scheme would have been detailed within the documentation provided to you by Lexus when you collected the car. In addition it has for some time been included in the Lexus U.K. website within the section referring to the purchase of a Pre-Owned Lexus vehicle. Notwithstanding what I have said...you are where you are.....i.e. a dissatisfied Lexus customer and I would advise that you write to the Dealer Principal at Lexus Bradford explaining in as much detail as possible, what you have outlined in this thread. Provide as much information and contemporary documentations/notes etc and given that your current location seems to be far removed from Bradford, ask "if he would be willing for you to take the vehicle to your local Lexus dealer for it to be inspected and for them to comment upon the matters you have raised. Should they (your Local Dealer) support your views, and confirm the reasons for your current dissatisfaction, then you would expect the matter to be addressed by the LEXUS ORGANISATION to your satisfaction without cost to you" I hope that this suggestion is of some use Isee. Regards
  2. That`s impressive David....and not even trying! We had a caravan in Harlech for 10 years and I`m still a member at Royal St Davids so I know the terrain and route reasonably well. It`s a lovely part of the World. Enjoy your car. Regards
  3. Hope you enjoy the GS.I picked mine up last week from Lexus Chester and I`m still smiling! Where are you picking yours up from? Happy driving.
  4. That`s outstanding fuel consumption Richard. Try Brimming the fuel fills and comparing with your On Board Computer (OBC). My 2003 E Class Auto estate Diesel still gives 50mpg on any journey over 50 miles and early this year I recorded 58mpg over the entire journey from Wirral to Fallingbostal in Germany. Its OBC however is 8% optimistic when compared to the Brimming method! So 58 is approx. 53 ! My new (to me) GS 450h has just covered 200 miles in my possession (all local,stop/start, short journeys) and the Brimming method gives 38mpg...I have yet to reset its OBC and I LOOK FORWARD TO DOING SO. Regards
  5. Same with my GS 450H Lexdad ! We have to be extra vigilant when about pedestrians and cyclists. I have heard it said that some kind of "noise" is to be inserted into future hybrids, so as to alert people to their proximity. In the meantime you and I and many others must take great care. Regards
  6. Thanks Peter. The Dealer Principal is the person who is responsible for everything that happens at the Dealership. Just ask one of the staff for his name, address, telephone no., email address etc. Then let him have both barrels in the form of the letter by Registered Post that I mentioned earlier. Regards John
  7. Good luck Peter. Just ensure that you put ALL of your concerns in writing to the Dealer Principal and copied to Lexus UK AND KEEP A COPY FOR YOURSELF. Send the concerns by registered post. The main difficulty as I see it is if they hand it back to you and say "it`s fixed", then you have to accept that initially, even though you have lost confidence in the vehicle. Then at the first sign that all is not well again the vehicle has to be returned to them for good and a new one made available to you. I wish you well. Regards John
  8. Hello All, My name is John and I live on the Wirral. I have been a member for two weeks and have enjoyed reading the various contributions and joining in wherever I feel that I can. Yesterday afternoon I picked up my "10" reg GS450h in Palladio Silver from Lexus Chester @ Cheshire Oaks. It is 3 years old, has one former owner and 17,000 miles on the clock. This will be my final car (a mid life crisis, some 25 years too late I feel )and will sit alongside my 10 year old and 184,000 mile E Class Auto Estate and with which I cannot part. I look forward to reading and sometimes joining in the discussions with you all. Regards John
  9. Sorry to read this sad saga. You have had the vehicle for more than 3 months and Lexus have had N attempts to satisfy you. The vehicle clearly is not what it was claimed to be when you purchased it and in my view the Lexus Dealer who sold it to you is in Breach of Contract. Their protocols are irrelevant and the advices offered by Steve 2006 and Ian S200 are sound and you should not allow them (Lexus Dealer) to procrastinate further. Supposing that they fix the problem........will you ever have confidence in the vehicle? I doubt it. Enough is enough and you have already been more than accommodating. Good luck, a new replacement vehicle is what you want. Regards John
  10. Thanks Ian. I will pick up my first (and probably last ) Lexus next week. It`s a "10" reg GS450H with 17,000 on the clock. However I could not let go of my E220 cdi Auto Estate (W210) with 184,000 on the clock and which takes me to and from Andalucía twice each year @ over 50mpg. I simply could not afford to replace it.............so I didn`t, I kept it !! Good luck with the GS. Regards John
  11. "It's a beautiful car and I really don't want to scrap it, but at the moment it's looking like the costs will be way more than the value of the car." Think carefully, if the above is true, then in my view the value of the car is really the cost to you of replacing it with something similar. So, given that replacing could well run into several thousand pounds, I would suggest that you should seek to repair/replace the offending parts of your much loved vehicle. Regards John
  12. Thanks Mike, much appreciated. It seems that the electric sunroof and possibly the Levinton stereo were dropped at some stage. I went to Lexus Bolton (from Wirral) this morning and test drove a 10 reg SEL. They were extremely personable and accommodating and I could not fault them. The car was sublime, but I was surprised that it did not seem possible to bring up a digital mph/mpk (kilometre,) ON THE DASH which makes the "k" reading not so easy when driving on the continent. Oh well I shall have to consider seriously whether to go for it and keep it alongside my 190,000 mile 10 year old E class diesel Estate!. Regards John R
  13. Sorry to butt in ,but are all of the 6 comments above relating to the MK3 GSh rather than the MK4 ? Thanks John
  14. Hi Del Lardo, I`m close to purchasing a 450h...did you get yours and how is it going? Are you pleased with it and any disappointments? Regards John
  15. Hi Simon, Look up YOUTUBE as there are several "how to" videos inc one I`ve seen removal of panels associated with upgrade to the sound system. Good luck John
  16. Hello all. I`ve joined recently and am close to buying MK3 GSH450H. Can anyone explain the difference between an SE and an SEL please as the adverts I read seem to state that they have the same specs? Many thanks John
  17. Tallyho, Why update? Paris is still where Paris was as is Birmingham ! All you will miss are the new bypasses (if any), save your money and enjoy the temporary drama ! Regards John
