  1. Pram...................not a chance. Buggy....................no problem. I can fit 2 full sized golf bags................and nothing else. Great car though! Regards John
  2. I think that you are in love ! Many congratulations. Regards John
  3. David, I had the same "dilemma" when I bought my GS 450h. I decided to ask Lexus to do it (front and rear) as although they were more expensive, they were completely knowledgeable as to what was required, electronically and electrically speaking and at least I had someone to complain to should the installation turn out to be less than satisfactory. In my case, all turned out most satisfactorily. I hope this information is of help to you and that you enjoy your Lexus. Regards John
  4. .....That I returned to my GS450h THIS AFTERNOON following six weeks away in Spain. I had left it with a 12 volt, 2.4 watt Solar Powered Trickle Charger (purchased from the AA) connected to the OBD Port beneath the Steering Wheel and lo and behold it fired up instantly. I hope that this information is of some use/ comfort to fellow 450H owners particularly as I understand that the UK has not had much sunshine whilst I have been away.! Regards John
  5. Check out your Handbook. The Power button is pressed without putting your foot on the brake and this then feeds power to several electrical items such as the radio etc. Good reading !! Regards John
  6. Could you possibly have forgotten that you had switched off the ignition and used the stand by facility to operate the radio etc ? If so you would have had to revert to the start up procedure again(which you did when you closed everything down and started the ignition sequence again) Happy Motoring and enjoy the fine motor car! Regards John
  7. Congratulations on your purchase. I`ve no rattles or squeaks on mine, so I suggest you take it back to the vendor pronto and ask him to fix it f.o.c.as he is obliged to do. Good luck. Regards John
  8. Hi KEN Just had same problem.......turned out to need a new Oxygen sensor fitted by local Lexus dealer under warranty. Hope your problem is resolve soon. Regards
  9. Why is the disc out of date? Paris is still where Paris was as is Birmingham ! Send the money if you wish, but all that has changed is the introduction of "ring roads" or by passes. Enjoy what you have and experience the joy/pleasure of finding out where you are !! Regards John
  10. My last 4 fill ups have been between 33 and 36mpg.This was brim to brim, not on board computer. Driving was mixed with local and motorway. As Del Lardo says it all depends upon your driving style. I would not advise buying the car for is low fuel consumption (although for a 3.5 litre V6 petrol it is very good indeed).I would advise buying it for its peace and serenity, unhurried but linear power and the smug satisfaction of owning and driving a motor car of real quality not available to many. Good luck. Regards John
  11. If you bought the car with a full Lexus Service History, then I would take it to the nearest Lexus Dealership. 23 miles is nothing as I take my wife`s Yaris 160 mile round trip to the Toyota Dealership we bought it from 12 years ago. I make a day of it and either play golf or go for a nice lunch. A good relationship is I feel important, particularly where Hybrids are concerned. Whatever you decide to do, I wish you well in your Lexus ownership. Regards John
  12. Buy the BMW and keep it until you are old enough and wise enough to appreciate what it is that Lexus is giving you. Regards John
  13. There are more Moggies about overall than GS's lolThanks for that Jonas. So, if you or anybody else happens to spot NKA 936 on any vehicle......well that was my first number plate. Funny how one remembers one`s first (most things!) Regards John
  14. Hi Tony, I am surprised there is no emission test for Hybrids. Still, nice that it will never fails on emissions!! It just doesn't make sense that there is no way that the engine can be forced on when it is in for repair. Lexus must be able to do this even if it is a hidden function. I will give Lexus a call and see if they can enlighten me. Regards, GIles. Hi Giles, Do let us all know what the nice people at Lexus said please. Regards John
  15. And the number of 1948 Split Windscreen Side Valve Morris Minors is......................? Oh happy motoring days ! Regards John
  16. Take look at this http://www.caradvice.com.au/14639/toyota-prius-the-taxi-champion. There are very few stories anywhere of hybrid battery problems. Honestjohn (UK) tells of Glasgow taxis covering 400,000 plus miles without problems. Try a Hybrid on test and see what you think.....it`s incredible motoring, but not as economical as you might think, but certainly significantly more economical than any 3.5 litre petrol engine. Happy motoring. Regards John
  17. I fully understand and appreciate your dilemma Tincanman. It`s just that whilst the Toyota garage might be happy to receive your business and cash, the Lexus Dealership might not be so happy. If however, the Toyota garage can demonstrate to the Lexus garage that what they have done is exactly to Lexus standards, THEN IT MIGHT BE POSSIBLE FOR YOU TO ACHIEVE A SOLUTION which is acceptable to all given your remoteness from the Lexus Dealership. Good luck and regards (again) John
  18. Thanks Tincanman. I can only provide you with my understanding of my purchase from my Official Lexus Dealer. It was purchased with a full service history and had just been serviced and everything scrutinised (at my request) by the Dealership from which I made the purchase and came with a full 12 month warranty. In other words (and this was communicated to the Sales Specialist)I would have nothing to pay for 12 months unless I covered more than 10,000 miles in which case it would need a service for which it would be returned to the same Lexus Dealer. Any problems arising in the first 12 months would be covered by the Lexus Warranty / Dealership. I would not dream of taking the car to another (non-Lexus Official)dealer notwithstanding the fact that Lexus is part of the Toyota Corporate Organisation for fear of breaking the terms of the warranty. Daihatsu and Subaru are both (I believe) part of Corporate Toyota and I would not take one of those other than to an Official Daihatsu or Subaru Official Dealer whilst still in the Warranty period. If something occurs which necessitates returning the car to Lexus within the 12 months from the date of purchase then I would not expect to pay (nor would I pay) for anything including costs of diagnosing the problem. I hope that my explanation of the terms of my purchase is helpful toyou and I hope that your problem is resolved quickly to your entire satisfaction with minimum or nil cost to you. Good luck and regards John
  19. Hi Tincanman. Have read your first post again. Did you buy the car from an Official Lexus dealer? If yes, why did it need to be serviced less than 12 months after purchase and why have it serviced by Toyota as that would negate the terms of the warranty would it not? If no, then why did you not take the car back to the original seller for him to deal with your complaint? Sorry to ask these questions but something does not seem to gel with me. Regards john
  20. Thanks Ganesh. I had heard that they gulped oil. I think that they are the only car now in production with a ****el engine, the NSU RO80 being the first I believe. I seem to recall a (then new) 50p piece being sat on the engine whilst it was running and it did not bat an eyelid so to speak. But all credit to Mazda for sticking with the development and I hope that Vasailis has many happy days with his lovely Rx-8. Regards John
  21. My 450h was 3 years old (10 reg) with 17,000 on the clock when I bought it from Lexus Chester 6 weeks ago Mark. When I start up it invariably starts on the Electric Battery, so the engine only kicks in when I reach approx. 15mph and it is barely noticeable then. On the minority of occasions it fires on the engine, the noise is also barely noticeable. It might be a good idea for you to borrow one from your local Lexus dealer or other outlet so that you can see/hear for yourself before you make what I feel will be an excellent purchase. It is eerily quiet at all times. Regards John
  22. Yes a real beauty indeed. You can rightfully be proud. Do let us all know how much oil(not petrol) to the mile she consumes! Regards John
