  1. Does anyone know what happened to Tony`s GS450h? Was it scrapped, sold, given away or has he kept it and using it sparingly with no sign of the fault which appeared and then disappeared ? In an early post he mentioned someone named Haynes who apparently had a similar problem with his GS450h....does anyone have any details? Toyota initially provided an 8 year warranty on Hybrid systems, now they have reduced this to 5 years; does anyone know why? Regards John
  2. Take a look on youtube. Many Lexus mirror jobs on it....might just be of help. Regards John
  3. Similar thing happened to my Mercedes W210 AND A LOCAL GARAGE simply welded the box back up for me with a "home made bracket" for £10. That was 4 years ago and it is still fine. Good luck! Regards John
  4. Hello. Methinks that you will need at least 10 Clios to swap for one Ls 400 !! Regards John
  5. Michael, When you say "it stopped working".......can I ask if you had turned in on to find that it did not work, or had you left it on permanently only to discover that it had stopped working? Regards John
  6. Steve`s quite right. Warranty Direct quoted me low for cover and when I read the small print they had excluded the Hybrid Battery !! Lexus ownership is special, so make sure you keep it that way. Oh, and by the way................................do NOT travel at Warp Factor Speed. Regards John
  7. Hi Krayfish, If you have stretched yourself, then it`s a no brainer ! You must "insure" The deal is excellent and I`ve just paid £995 for the same deal. It covers mileage up to 140,000 so long as Lexus maintain it. You have an outstanding motor car which will make you smile.........even when it is on your drive! Regards John
  8. The dealer is responsible for faults/defects which were present or can be assumed to have been present during the first 6 months of your ownership. It is for him to prove that they were not. If necessary speak to C.A.B or consult a solicitor. You should not swallow it, nor are you being too picky. Good luck. Regards John
  9. Unless the warning light is RED, just carry on driving until your heart rate exceeds your capacity to tolerate what is only an advisory ! Regards John
  10. A sound investment Pete, for which you are already being rewarded ! It might blow your mind if you have to fit your spare for a few days though ! I have Kuhmo which do not seem to have worn over 8,000 miles ,but I will be keeping an eye on them. I also run an old Merc E Class diesel estate auto (for driving to and from Spain and going to the Rubbish Tip). These are always fitted with Michelin Pilot tyres which give over 50,000 to each set. It is always satisfying and reassuring to know that one is well shod. Regards John
  11. Thanks Norman. That looks to be a cracking car.......and I will look out for it. Regards John
  12. Which is where Norman (and I`ll keep my eyes on the road for you) ? Regards John
  13. Hi Norman, I`m long drive, a five iron and a sand wedge from Lexus Chester, which is where I bought my GS450h !! Hooton on the Wirral is where I live, so, not a MILLION MILES FROM "Lexus Cheshire". Regards John
  14. Norman, I`ve never heard of "Lexus Cheshire", where are they situated please? Regards John
  15. GS 450h is 10/12,000 or annually whichever occurs first. Enjoy your 450h Dreamliner jet ! Regards John
  16. Now there`s a man whose head rules his heart! Well put Graham, sir. Regards John
  17. So, in response to POST NO.3 from Colin, the term Hybrid Healthcheck is a misnomer and should be corrected by LEXUS as it misrepresents what is being supplied to the customer. Regards John
  18. Cannot understand Lexus "disowning " you Tony. Methinks that Motoring Press should be informed (Honest John?), AutoExpress etc. Have you contacted the local Toyota dealer or the local Toyota Indie........a surprise might be awaiting you ! Regards John
  19. Log onto Club Lexus Tony...a US forum and type in your symptoms inc warning lights which showed up. Then look to see what comes up. I think it is important for you to tell the US Forum members of your symptoms NOT the Lexus explanation of what they think it is !! Regards John
  20. http;//www.lexus.com/recall. Look closely at this Tony and see if your vehicle is included. Regards John
  21. On the face of it, this seems like an unmitigated disaster. Tony was in my view, the champion of the 450h with over 200,000 mikes on the clock. For Lexus UK not to support him seems very bad news indeed; perhaps contact with Lexus American colleagues MIGHT YIELD NEWS AS TO HOW THEY DEAL WITH THE PROBLEM? If the car recently passed the Hybrid Healthcheck, then why does the 12 month warranty not cover the failure ? It would be helpful to know the cost of the replacement/repair as in my view, if it amounts to significantly less than the cost of a new car it might seem appropriate to effect the repair. Just my thoughts. Regards John
