  1. Doc Martin drives a Lexus LS in Cornwall ! Regards John
  2. My Merc box (W210 2003) was also sealed for life. I change the Autobox oil every 40/50 miles as advised by the best Indies. No problems so far @ 195,000 miles. Honest John in the Daily Telegraph is also not a fan of Sealed for Life! Regards John
  3. Hi Graham, I`m with Bluesman on this. If you can afford to keep it, then keep it and look at it/sit in it whenever you feel you can. Talk to it and tell it that one day you will drive it again. It will be as obedient as a watchful pet and greet your return. Buy a Solar Charger and connect it to the OBD Port to keep the battery trickle charged. Or alternatively if it`s garaged then buy a CETEK Charger to do the same. If you sell it then, you just might miss it dearly. All the best with your recovery and remember that half full is better than half empty. Regards and best wishes, John
  4. Hey Stuno, I`d put money on the fact that he`s not a Lorry driver !! Seriously, I too would like to know. Regards John
  5. That`s really good news Mr Bond. A real achievement from any perspective. Thanks for cheering us all up. Regards John
  6. Nice one Pete. Henry Ford is oft quoted as having said that "HISTORY IS BUNK." Shows how much he knew about what was to come! Regards John
  7. Life evolves. One day I went to the library, but today the library (www) comes to me. Sell your car? Would you forget your first kiss? Regards John
  8. Congratulations Phil. The Internet can be worth its weight in gold! Regards John
  9. Phil, Glyn Jones of Heswall on the Wirral is a Toyota Indie. Try phoning him and ask his advice. 01513429944. Regards John
  10. Had the E Class estate for 12 years and 190,000 miles. Will keep it as it owes me nothing. Had the GS 450H for 12 months and have taken out long term Warranties and Service Plans as I intend it to be my last purchase. I do not understand the need to keep changing vehicles, so I suppose it must be an age thing as I `m approaching 70! Regards john
  11. It`s a good question Eric. And you will receive lots of answers from members of these Forums....most of which will be spot on, but you will be best advised in checking an authoritative website such as AA, RAC, Driving in France etc. I drive to and from Spain via France 4 times a year and would not dream of not "consulting the oracle". Have a good and safe trip. Regards John
  12. It is on my GS450h ! Your Lexus dealer will confirm! Regards John
  13. That`s an excellent price for a GS430 SE Dave. Mine was £190 with full European cover with LV. Regards John
  14. Can I have an equivalent loan car for the duration of the repair? What warranties will I have on all aspects of the repair? Can I have the next 2 services free of charge? Good luck Regards John
  15. Such work required begs the question as to why such repairs are necessary to a top off the range Lexus which is only 6 years old at the most, has a full Lexus service history and has covered less than 140,000 miles. Regards John
  16. Very nice indeed Don. Are you prepared to share with us the name of the organisation which brought the leather up to its current condition and the approximate cost? Regards John
  17. Welcome to the club Eric and thank you for the considerable contribution towards the resolution of Simon`s problems. Regards John
  18. Toyota (Prius) cars built between 2004 and 2007 were recalled for the Hybrid pump to be replaced. Cars sold in USA, EUROPE AND JAPAN WERE AFFECTED. The problems now being reported by a small but increasing number of GS450h owners, all seem to be on cars built within the period to which the Prius problems relate and it is possible that it is the same problem. There is a fault code (POA93) which keeps recurring. This fault code has appeared on at least one GS 450 h and I feel that owners should demand to be told the fault codes which are showing on their Lexus cars. To be told it is the Hybrid system when it could well only be the Hybrid pump needs investigation and Tony Richa has in another post said as much. Good luck to all. Regards John
  19. Digby, I have never had a Battery problem. I merely attach the Solar Powered Charger to ensure that my battery does not go flat. Regards John
  20. Thanks Colin. It makes one wonder why they did not therefore advertise it with a 10 year warranty subject to terms and conditions? Regards Joh
  21. Tony, Many thanks for the update on the GS450h. I hope that you have good service from the E Class. I kept mine. It is nearly 12 years old, done 192,000 miles and still gives over 50 mpg on any journey over 50 miles. It is not a Lexus however and a comparison is worthless as they are "chalk and cheese". Both are good, at what they are good at ! My researches have shown to me that the problem you experienced has been evident on the Prius (as you already knew). What I did not know was that Toyota recalled ALL Prius (in USA, JAPAN and EUROPE) built between 2004 and 2007.The fault was the same as yours. It is self evident that Lexus (Toyota) knew/know, of this and should have acted/should act, accordingly. The comments made by Adrian are more than pertinent and have my full support and should in my view be endorsed by all Lexus members of this forum. Lexus` inability to deal appropriately with this matter demands a full explanation from Lexus Corporate UK and Head Office in Japan. The owners of the best car in the World deserve much better in my view. Regards John
  22. Giles, Are you still running the 450h without the Hyrbrid function? Regards John
  23. I have successfully attached an AA Solar Powered Charger via the OBD11 Port and left the GS450H car for 6 weeks. It started instaneously. Good luck. Regards John
