  1. I would also try Churchill, their quote was half the price as compared to Adrian Flux. Tarun
  2. Rob mine didn't work very well when the battery was flat, but back to normal once it was fully charged. Tarun
  3. Not bad Liam, may I ask you how much did it cost? Tarun
  4. or this http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product_m-alpine-ezidab_p-27670.htm Tarun
  5. Wow, looks beautiful, feel like selling mine and buying this one! Tarun
  6. I am happy to hear this Tarun. Have you considered a wrap for the car? mine turned out great. William Thanks William, found a Mark 4 same colour which is broken for parts in Kent, will try to cannibalize it first, got a quote for the door and bumper for 50 gbp each. I have already removed quite a few small scratches and dents from the bodywork and the paintwork doesn't look too bad now. Honestly speaking, I did consider getting a quote for wrapping as well, and will see how it (my budget) goes. First priority is to get it back on the road and to get rid of that tobacco smell! Tarun
  7. quick update, car passed the MOT without any advisories! very pleased and relieved about that. Churchill have agreed to insure it, and I am ready to send the paperwork to DVLA. Tarun
  8. Ruud your car looks lovely btw, hope everything gets fixed soon. Tarun
  9. I paid a deposit over the phone for this, in haste i would add, and took for my first viewing after work a week back when it was ****** and dark. Sometimes you need to use gut instinct, I was looking for one of these for my mam for a bit and this looked a peach. I just got the seller to MOT it, and passed with no advisories. You are right Eric, btw very clean car. I think I would have easily paid more than £2500 for a single owner Mk4 LS400 with 68k miles. And if spend another £1500 on it the results will be quite rewarding (hopefully)
  10. Tulpen that idea never came to my mind before, but many thanks, lesson learnt, mistake wont be repeated
  11. HI Taruwn could you do a write up on what paperwork is involved please when the car arrives here p.s im wondering wether this is the same car bilmac viewed for bluesman? HI Taruwn could you do a write up on what paperwork is involved please when the car arrives here p.s im wondering wether this is the same car bilmac viewed for bluesman? You could be right. Mike I don't have a link for it but this was the reply I got from William on 20th Feb 2015 does it ring any bells? Its the same car. Regards Mike Maroon 200 LS40 with 68k Mark and Mike, this is the same car. Thankfully no ash in the cabin. I will put up some before and after pictures and will do a detailed write up of the paperwork involved in importing. I don't know what would have been better, if I had seen the car, I would not have bothered driving it like Mike, and would have walked away, but now that I have driven it I have no other choice than to look past the bodywork and realise that everything else is in really good nick. Heated seats, memory function and steering are working fine now that the battery is fully charged. AC works fine. Antenna still broken but the motor makes noise, so may a case of replacing the shaft. I am planning to repair the alloys myself, worst case scenario I will have to pay to get them done professionally anyways. Any recommendations for a good body shop in midlands? Tarun
  12. Jake I was just hoping a single owner car with just 68k miles would have been looked after by the owner, obviously not as it turned out. The photos that I saw did not show up the faults, wondering of they were older pictures. Tarun
  13. Yesterday got the delivery of a year 2000 Mark 4 LS400 that I bought from Ireland over the phone. One owner car done 68000 miles. Guy got it delivered it here for 1500 Euros all inclusive. Had seen the pictures, cherry red colour, beige interior, no satnav or sunroof in the Irish spec, but that didn't bother me. I had done the Irish hpi check, and verified ownership, mileage etc. So far I thought that I am getting a great deal. However, cosmetically the car is full of dents and scratches including both bumpers and a badly resprayed rear door, antenna is broken, memory function is a bit hit and miss and the steering wheel telescopic function doesn't work either. Tyres and battery aren't great either. How heart breaking. All this has taught me a good lesson. On the positive side Mrs is surprisingly quite supportive and likes the car! Also it's spot on mechanically, leather is unmarked and engine is super-smooth and the whole car feels crisp and tight, doors shut perfectly, perfect tracking etc. Now wondering where to start from. How to restore it to its glory without having to break the bank. Will need all the expert advice that I can get. Thanks in advance. Tarun
  14. Hi, everyone, If importing from Ireland, do we have to change to clocks from km/hr to miles/hr for MOT purposes? Thanks. Tarun
  15. My wife was very attached to the avensis and is a bit upset today, hopefully the Lexus will cheer her up! Tarun
  16. Thanks Liam, I sold my Toyota Avensis this afternoon, if all goes well (fingers crossed) will be going to pick up my Lexus next weekend. Tarun
  17. Checked the dvla website, they say "You usually need to pay VAT if you import a vehicle from within the EU." unable to find out if it applies to vehicles over 10 years old? Tarun
  18. Hi Stuart The pristine appearance of my engine bay is not my handiwork. In order to get my cars into showroom condition I have engaged the services of a professional DETAILER. Here are the before and after pictures of my Mk4: DSC00827 (Large).JPG DSC00864 (Large).JPG Having achieved this I then try to use my cars only on nice dry days, and after each outing I thoroughly clean not only the engine bay but the entire car before putting it away. In other words, one has to keep on top of things. A bit OTT, I suppose. Pepe Pepe do you own the 911 as well? Nice reg plate. Tarun
  19. Congratulations Jon. Hope all goes well tomorrow.Did you need a European Certificate of Confirmity?
