  1. Hi Stu, Sorry for the confusion mate. By boot rubber I mean't the seal that runs around the channels of the boot area. Mine was horrible! I've clayed mine once (doubt i'll do that again until after the next Winter), and will be investing in a snow lance for my pressure washer at some point. I'm also thinking of getting the Meguiars DA polisher. Would make the polishing and swirl removal a lot quicker than me doing it all by hand! ;) What dilution do you do for the Bilberry out of interest? I tried this stuff back when I had the ST220 Estate, and short of neat, it didn't really shift the dirt very well? :( I used Rainex on my exterior glass yesterday. Beaded really well when it poured down on my way home. I'm a big fan of Meguiars products. Also use/used plenty of Autoglym stuff over the years. May give the Autoglym HD wax a try when it gets a bit brighter. Cost something silly like £50 for a small pot, but does come up really nicely. I did notice the boot lid bottom edge and matching part of the top of my rear bumper are all scratched/scuffed up. Not sure what the hell happened there!?! :( My drivers side doors are all chipped/missing paint on the edges from opening them into walls/other cars I'm guessing! Nice little job for my bodyshop mate in Strood! ;)
  2. I've said it before Stu, but we really are very similar in how we treat our cars! Lol. ;) I take roughly the same amount of time to do mine, and use the same products for the most part! I was disgusted at the state of the door sills, bonnet edges, and petrol flap when I first cleaned mine! :( They were totally gunked up and looked awful! All sorted now though. :) Have you done the inner boot rubber yet? ;) Mine is awful! I've cleaned off the worst of the dirt, but still need to give it another once over with an old toothbrush and some APC. What finishing polish do you use by the way? Did mine with the new Meguiars dark. Very pleased with it.
  3. Just noticed the one that sold was for the IS250. ;) Did think it was odd if it was for the ISF (ours are the early cars Stu. Can't see how we would have better condition systems than anyone else out there with an ISF? Unless it's someone that lives by the sea or in the countryside I guess - salt/corrosion issues).
  4. I'm quite surprised there are buyers for these, given the limited number of ISF's on the road. Fair to say most exhausts after 5yrs of use on UK roads will be showing signs of wear. The tips I can understand, as these are more cosmetic items, and not actually functional per se. Did see a post somewhere saying it might be worthwhile to have the tips re-tack welded? Bit involved if you need to remove the rear bumper etc (lots of soft plastics surrounding the tips!), but can be done in situ if you find someone with a steady hand and a tiny flame on the welding torch! :)
  5. Cleaned mine 3 times so far since I picked it up in mid-December! ;) Still not had an opportunity to get any half reasonable photos I'm afraid! :( Wish this poxy wind and rain would sod off! Lol. :)
  6. Hopefully it gets to you soon Stu. :) Good thing is I will hopefully get to see and hear your H&S system before I decide on what I'm going to do. May be easier to go the same route, rather than taking the car miles to get one made by the other chaps. Having the same design tips is a touch as well. :)
  7. Sounds promising Stu. :) Think you'll be getting yours done before me, so will be good to see/hear it at some point. Maybe the Bluewater meet we talked about?? Any news on your Takeda yet?? Get mine in February. :)
  8. Me too on the sound clips and video. ;) Stu, are you going to stick with the quad configuration for the tailpipes, or look at something different? Only ask as I noticed a lot of the US ones have gone for 2 larger pipes. I'm thinking quad pipes to maintain what is arguably the main distinguishing feature of these cars. Just wanted your view (be good to know for comparison purposes when we get the quote from H&S). Cheers. Happy New Year everyone!! :) Pete
  9. Fair enough roheel. :) Just glad to hear it's all sorted for you mate. Here's hoping we get some drier weather soon to enjoy these awesome cars! ;)
  10. ;) Happy New Year everyone. :) Hopefully meet some of you at some point in 2014. Cheers! Pete
  11. I guess that's one of the drawback's of having such limited numbers of these special cars on the UK roads. :( Probably a combination of not having enough experience of working on the ISF, and not having enough ISF's that have suffered this particular issue? Main thing is it's been sorted at least. :) Would be interested to know what the dealership charged to remedy this issue. Just as a reference if anyone else is unfortunate enough to suffer the same issue in the future. Cheers. Pete
  12. Certainly not. The M3 is a very capable car in the right hands. The only reason I didn't get one is I prefer the ISF. You also see loads of M3's on the road, unlike the ISF. Servicing costs and fuel consumption (plus tires all the time) are also more for the M3. Having had the privilege of being driven round Brands in a track ready M3, I can vouch for them being very good cars indeed! I'm with Stu on wanting a bit more sound from the V8 at lower rev's/speeds. It sounds amazing further up the rev range. If you are going to pay to run a 5L V8, I personally want to hear it! ;) I think a few doubters will think differently once they hear what these amazing cars sound like with the Takeda, and a proper stainless system. Rest assured none of us are trying to de-value, or 'chav' up these special cars. Look at the GTR for example. How many of those run stock exhausts these days?! Hardly any I would imagine! Do think the GTR OEM system sounded better than the OEM ISF one though.
  13. Sorry to hear it didn't do the trick Lai! :( Fingers crossed it's not going to work out as anything too expensive! Hopefully you got it for enough of a bargain to offset these issues. They really are amazing cars. Without doubt the best car I have ever owned. Let us know how you get on with the dealership. :) Cheers. Pete
  14. As you say David, each to their own. ;) For some of us, that means a bit more noise from that fabulous V8! I'm only looking to do the Takeda intake and a stainless exhaust in terms of performance modifications. Will probably do the KW coilovers as well at some stage, but that is all. When I think about all the upgrades and modifications I made to my single turbo Supra, that's a very short list in comparison! Just shows how well rounded these cars are in my opinion. Not looking for any boy racer noises anymore, just want to appreciate that V8 burble! :)
  15. Hey Lai, Any news on this? Hopefully the post I did earlier helped a bit? Feel free to email me if you need any more help with anything. Got a couple of us newbies that are busy learning the ropes with our new toys! Lol. Email is: peter.payne@cathedralcapital.com Cheers. Pete :)
  16. Anyone else had this problem out of interest? Looks like the previous owner may have reversed it into something (this breaks the pathetic tack welds that hold them on). Think Lexus charge a small fortune for replacements, as you have to buy the whole assembly for each side! Cheaper putting a proper system on the car in my opinion.
  17. As per the title really! ;) My poxy drivers side lower fake exhaust tip came off on Xmas eve! Luckily I was cleaning the car at the time, so managed to take it up to my local Quik Fit to tack weld it back into position! :( Why the hell Lexus scrimped on putting proper exhaust tips on these flagship models I don't know! Can't wait to get the cash together to get the stainless system fitted! Talk about embarrassing! Other than that, car has been fabulous so far. Very pleased with it. :)
  18. Awesome news!! :) Great to hear they sorted it for you mate. Bet your glad to have it back and sorted. Enjoy! Cheers. Pete
  19. Hi Lai, It's actually just the pcs brake function that you can turn off. It should be a button on the right hand side of your steering wheel? Button is in the centre with "on/off" written on it. Has two arrows either side (< >). Press "<" or ">" to display the "pcs brake" setting. It displays on the small info screen in the cluster above the speedo and rev counter. You can cycle through the different options by pressing the arrow buttons. When you have "pcs brake" on the screen, press the "on/off" button in the middle to select "off". It does say the pcs warning light flashes when "off" is selected? Maybe you just need to turn yours "on" to stop it flashing?? Hope this helps. Let us know how you get on. Cheers. Pete :)
  20. Hope it's not too much longer fella. :) Keep us posted. Cheers. Pete
  21. Yes. You can de-activate the PCS. Have you got the handbooks? I can try and dig it up tomorrow for you if not. Will type it up in a private message. Where did you get yours from mate? Lexus? Independent garage? or privately? I'd be looking to get it fixed if it was mine. Peter
  22. Guessing you may not hear much until the new year now? Hope it gets sorted mate. Can't imagine it's much fun for you right now. :( Let us know when you hear anything. Cheers. Pete :)
  23. Doubt they would be than interested in your Meriva Dave! ;) There are some rather nice Supra's that normally attend. Good bunch of chaps as well. Just thinking it might be better than having only 3 of us! :)
