  1. At least it's not just mine that does it I guess! ;) Does seem odd to have it illuminated all the time. :( I'm with you on the carbon fibre over silver fake trim. Will probably be getting a few bits on mine re-finished in proper carbon at some stage. Got a very good quote from a UK based company that send the bits off to Japan for re-finishing. Takes 4-6 weeks, but the results look very good. Company is called JM Carbon: http://www.jmcarbon.co.uk/custom-carbon-wrapping-18-c.asp They have done a load of stuff for GTR owners with very positive feedback over on the GTR club forum. I'm looking at engine cover (picked up a spare from eBay), all the silver fake bits (centre console, 4 door switch covers), front foglight covers, and the rear divider between the seats. Price all in is £650. When you factor in the shipping, duty, import tax etc, that seems quite reasonable to me. Do love the look of the rear centre in carbon. Will upload a picture in a second. :)
  2. There are 2 precision screwdriver looking tools that were in the slot on the spine of the toolkit. You just need to insert them in the two little holes either side of the clock display, then lever the display out. The DVD slot is hidden behind it. You access the eject function from the menu on the display (don't try ejecting before you remove the clock, or the disc will break!). It really is a 5min job if you have the tools that is! ;)
  3. Yep. It was on your recommendation that I decided to use them as my service/parts dealer too. ;) Looks like it's just the roads, POI etc that have been updated Stu. Worthwhile though as there have been plenty of changes on our roads since 2008! They've also mapped more roads than they had in 2008 (went through an area that was devoid of anything with the old disc, now fully mapped with the roads, nearby towns etc). You get all of Europe as well so 4 discs (you only use the West Europe disc for the UK roads), so seemed like good value to me. :)
  4. Good luck Neil. :) Looks like a good buy from the advert. Priced about right as well IMO (bought mine mid-December with 43K miles on for £20K). Let us know how you get on! :) Best colour as well! ;) Cheers. Pete
  5. Just wanted to say a big thank you to Sherry Goodhew at Lexus Woodford for getting me the 2014 map DVD's for my car. :) Cost was £153.94 including VAT and delivery, which I thought was pretty reasonable considering what other manufacturers are charging. Mine was still running off the original 2008 DVD, so needed updating. Removing/replacing the disc was very straightforward. Luckily I had the tools you use to remove the clock assembly in my toolkit. :)
  6. Does everyone have the passenger airbag light near the clock illuminated when driving? Just seems odd to me that it doesn't go out after a few seconds, or as you pull away? It's the warning to say adult passengers only due to the airbag.
  7. Same. I've got 2 kids, both boys. Ones 16, the other is 10. No issues with rear seats or legroom for either of them. Blooming luxury compared to when I shoe horned them into the back seats of my Supra! ;) lol.
  8. Sure. :) Let me get back to you when she gets me a price mate.
  9. I think it will become a cult car in time, for all the reasons you suggested Stu. I think the lack of turbo's limited the market in some ways. The horsepower chasers went for the GTR, Evo, and Impreza. With only just over 200 on UK roads, the ISF will be a collectors car one day I'm sure.
  10. Hey Stu. That's not actually the ISF specific one though mate. The ISF one has the F logo, and blue stitching. I've got a friend whose Japanese looking into getting me a couple. :)
  11. My buddy in LA has two Maserati's. His and hers!! Both very nice cars. :)
  12. Damn that would suck! :( Guessing he was carrying too much speed on wet/cold roads. Easily done with the cold weather we are having at the moment. I'd be gutted! :( Have seen 1 other ISF on the road so far in the past 6 months. The only others were the demonstrator I drove back at the launch in 2008, and the one on the Lexus stand at the Kent County Show a year or two back! Will be a shock to the system if we do ever get a meet organised! ;) Imagine 10 in the same place! That would be awesome!! :)
  13. Don't suppose you have a part number on either the glove itself, or the paperwork they sent you? Would make it easier to find in Japan if we could give them the part number. I'm thinking Whifbitz have a few buyers in Japan that could probably source these for us if there was enough interest? Failing that, I have a friend who's wife is from Japan, and they/their family travel back and forth to the UK quite a lot. Could probably ask her to source them for us, and we would need to pay for them? Thinking they may be around £80-100 a piece from what I found on the US forum.
  14. Does the glove cut out for the buttons all line up mate? Looks like the US ones have an extra panic button we don't get on our cars?
  15. Spot on Rick. :) Looking at some other posts on the US forum, seems the unlock button on the fob is programmed to open all of the windows if held down for a few seconds. Guessing mine must have done this when it was in my pocket! :( Now that I know, will try being more careful with putting other things in the same pocket that could accidentally trigger the function. You can apparently get your dealership to de-activate the function. May decide to do this when it goes in for the next service. Not like we get mega hot weather that warrants venting the car before driving that often! ;) Thanks anyway guys. :)
  16. Morning All, So woke up this morning, and went to take our dogs for a walk as per the norm. As I walk past the car, I noticed the drivers side window was down. That's odd! I looked more closely and all 4 windows were down?! :-( Went back in for the keys and put them back up, but no idea how it happened?! Don't think the fob can do this can it? Luckily it wasn't lashing down with strong winds like other mornings, as my interior would have been soaked!!! Any ideas or suggestions? Bit of a worry when I'm at work all day! :( Peter
  17. That's a bummer Stu! :( Guess you could sell it to someone for their iPod or earlier iPhone? Always the same with freebies mate, never as good as you first thought! ;)
  18. Could use an old toothbrush to help get into the perforation holes? Worked well for me when I needed to do it on a BMW a while back. I'm a big fan of Meguiars leather cleaner/conditioner. Just apply to the toothbrush like you would toothpaste, and gently work it into the perforation holes. Leave it for a few seconds to lift the dirt, then wipe with a suitable cloth or towel. I'd only use a worn toothbrush, as new ones are too stiff, and could cause damage. It's a time consuming job, but worthwhile when they are looking clean! ;)
  19. Any news on these Damien? I'm probably going to give the Porterfields a whirl with the stock Brembo rotors. Would be good to hear what you make of the Hawk's if you do get a set. The low dust appeals, but my tuner thinks the street Porterfields will be as good in terms of low dust. Are you going to fit them yourself by the way? I'll probably do mine so I can give the system a thorough clean, and get my Porboys wheel sealant all inside the rims at the same time. Seems pretty straightforward from the videos and how-to guides I've watched/read. Think the ones we did on the Supra were harder. Cheers, Peter
  20. The only other car I would consider would be the Nissan GTR (R35). Having heard plenty of horror stories regarding servicing costs, mechanical failures, and pricey running costs, I felt the ISF was the better option for the reasons you outlined Stu. It's also a comfortable car for all of the family (not many out there with similar rear seats/legroom). I ruled out Porsche early on, after hearing similar stories about pricey running costs/servicing etc. I also fell deeply in love with the ISF when I had a test drive back at the launch in 2008. I told my wife I would own one some day, and now I am pleased to say I have achieved that goal. There really aren't many cars I can think of that are as affordable, reliable, quick, comfortable, well equipped, rare as the ISF. Just my thoughts. :)
  21. That's correct Stu. You need to put at least 1,000 miles on an exhaust system before you will get the true sound. They often quieten down once you do put the miles on them. Look forward to seeing and hearing it in the near future.
  22. Nice freebie there Stu! :) Always nice to get extra's for nothing! Lol.
  23. Fair enough Stu. :) Could always come over and use my DA when I get it? Reason I want one is they are very easy to use (good instructional video's available from Meguiars), and you can't burn or wreck your paint with it! ;) I did a few years as a detailer with a valeting company after I left school. Just find it really satisfying. Know what you mean about the time issue though, my wife is pretty patient considering. Do find it difficult to start cleaning it, and have to finish with things not done though! ;) My best line is: 'I'm just going to clean the car, shouldn't take more than an hour'!! ;) When I start noticing the blinds twitching, that's when I try and finish up! Lol. I'll give the Bilberry another try I guess. Might just have been the ST220 alloys were too far gone to work properly.
