First Proper Clean And....
Peter P18 replied to Stuno1's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
Nice result Stu! :) Fingers crossed it's just the two wheels you need to pay for fella. Which Lexus dealer are you using out of interest? Seems like they are being pretty good to you from what I've read. Keep us posted on how you get on with the callipers. Will check mine more closely when I get it next week. :) Cheers. Peter -

I'm in Higham, Kent. It's 25/30mins outside Central London, down the A2 towards Canterbury. -

Sounds like a plan Stu. :) Be good to see the two of them together. Mine will need a proper clean first as well though! ;) Think we have a lot in common from what I've read so far. Cheers. Peter -

Good luck Stu. :) Let us know how you get on. Glad you're generally pleased with it. Looked good in the photos you posted on the picture thread. :) -
Joe Z Exhaust...

Hi Glenn, Yes, talking about Paul at Whifbitz mate. I'm now up in Kent (hence not around Enfield much these days), but used to pit crew for Paul and Steve when they raced in Time Attack. Had his own make exhaust on my last Supra, very pleased with the sound and quality of the construction. He does Titanium systems as well, but you're talking mega bucks! ;) I've known Paul Whiffin for almost 10yrs now. Darren would do the fitting over there. Arguably the best mechanic I've ever met. Treats all cars like they are his own. Will see Paul in the new year and get it up on a ramp to see what's involved. I'll keep you guys posted for sure. Cheers. Pete :) -
Anything I Should Be Worried About?

Sounds good. Think mine are pretty good from what I can remember, did have some creasing in the side bolsters on the base of the drivers seat, but I've got a leather care kit that might be up to the job. Let me know how you get on though fella. Cheers. Pete :) -

Good to know. May be getting my tuner in Enfield to fabricate something for mine at some point. Should be cheaper than importing one from the States. He has made systems for a few cars so far including the GTR (has a 1,000HP demonstrator he built), and the Supra. Could be a better option if there are a few of us that want one?? I'll probably head over in the new year for him to take a look at what's involved. Cheers. Pete -

Thanks Stu & Keith. :) Very pleased with it. Just got to wait till the 16th to go and collect it! I'm not very patient at the best of times! Lol. ;) Will add some pictures once it's been given the Meguiars treatment! ;) 10 days to go!! -
Anything I Should Be Worried About?
Peter P18 replied to Peter P18's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
So I headed over this morning with the wife (she secretly took a day off to come with me bless her), and the car looked spot on. Few scuffs and marks, but nothing unexpected for a 5yr old car. The 2011 service was in the book, just missing one for 2010. Looks like the one lady owner may have thought it was 10K between services, as opposed to 10K or every year. Given it's been 3yrs since then with Lexus servicing it in 2011,2012 and 2013, I'm happy it's not done any major harm. Pleased to report I've left my deposit, and will be heading back on the 16th to settle up the balance. :) Loved how it drove. Just as good as when I tested one at launch back in 2008, and said "one day I'll buy one of these". Dealer is getting the tax sorted this week for me as well (paid him the extra £490 to get it done). Roll on Monday week!! ;) Cheers. Pete -

Just found another service at 32,407 on 14/06/2011. Did a vehicle check that gives mileage reports that were from Lexus at the same time as they serviced it. The 2009,2012, and 2013 services were all on there as well. Just 2010 missing now. Hopefully Lexus or the dealer can clear that up tomorrow. -

Anything I Should Be Worried About?
Peter P18 replied to Peter P18's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
Thanks guys. :) Stu - The car has only had one owner from new (a woman as detailed in the advert). Keith - the dealer has already confirmed he will take £20K for the car. Maybe this is the reason why? I'm still going to go and have a look at the car tomorrow, but if there is no paperwork or service records for the 3yrs in question, I'll probably walk away. The dealer will also need to change his ad, as it's not correct. I'm quite surprised Lexus didn't say anything when the car was serviced in 2012. Surely they would have wondered why there was a 3yr gap in the service records?? I'll give Lexus Canterbury a call tomorrow morning as well to see what they can tell me about it. Might be back to the drawing board for me. :( -
Hi Guys, So the ISF I am looking to buy is this one: http://www.prestigecarsltd.com/lexus-is-f-5.0-v8-is-f-auto-in-windlesham-surrey-3301146 I'm heading over tomorrow with a deposit. Regarding the mileage, the car has low miles at just over 40K on the clock. The dealer has since broken down the servicing by Lexus as follows: 10,416 (10/11/08) 22,274 (02/07/09) 37,387 (05/07/12) 41,318 (12/06/13) Looks like it hardly did any miles at all between 2009 and 2010 (hence the 3yr gap in the servicing!). The gaps aren't consistent either, as I thought it was meant to be every 10K miles or annually?? Would anyone see this as a problem? I'm not overly concerned as long as it all check out in the flesh tomorrow, but wanted some opinions from you guys. I'm looking at paying £20K, plus £490 for a years road tax (doesn't have any at the moment!). Thanks. Peter :)

Front Brake Pad Options (Again..)
Peter P18 replied to Damien7579's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
Until someone tells me otherwise, will stick with the OEM Brembo discs, but may change the pads to either the Hawk's or Porterfield (used them when I had the Supra). Porterfield R4S are more expensive though (£204+VAT). I'm thinking i'll pick up a set of the Hawk's when I am in the States to see what they are like. If they are good, I can grab another set on one of my numerous business trips! ;) -

I'm sure they could order one in for you, but you might as well order one from one of the US suppliers directly?? Don't believe there are any UK suppliers with stock of these. -

Peter P18 replied to Damien7579's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
I plan on running these in mine when I get it. Reviews from the States suggest these are as good as OEM, but with the added bonus of producing less brake dust. If you take the plunge before me (highly likely as I haven't got the car yet!), please let us know how you get on with them. All the best, Peter :) -

Hey Stu, Fingers crossed for you mate. May just be they are running a bit behind with the orders, on account of Thanksgiving, Black Friday sales etc. Hope you get it soon mate. Looking forward to your feedback and some photos! :) Cheers. Pete -
Thanks guys. Seems my quote may not be as bad as I thought! Will still see if I can squeeze a bit more out of them when I get it! ;)

Any other mid-30's out there?? Just wondering what I should be looking to pay? Have 15yrs NCB. I'm in a good area in terms of low crime etc. Would be parked on my driveway. Been with the same broker for 15yrs, but he was suggesting around £700/750? Seems high, as this would be main car with all the NCB applied? Thoughts?? Thanks. Peter :)

Must admit I was going to go with the shiney version! ;) Stu convinced me otherwise! Lol. Getting the black to keep things looking more OEM. I've also had plenty of polished up bits on my previous cars. You do need to keep on top of cleaning them, otherwise they look dreadful! :( -

Nice one Stu! :) I've just got my buddy in Houston to grab mine & the Apexi throttle controller I wanted! ;) Don't even have a car yet! Lol. Got a great Black Friday deal I couldn't resist! :) Will have to put up with watching and listening to that YouTube clip for now! ;) Nice to see there's some owners on here that like to modify! :)
