  1. I think the person who had it before me was possibly quite large and couldn't avoid regular contact with seat. I would also assume car was used for a lot of short journeys - in & out of car on a regular basis.
  2. I'll let you know if they change it. Top Lexus exec was there at the time I went in and service manager showed him photo. His comments were ' That is the worst I've seen for a car of that age - totallly unacceptable '. So hopefully it will help get it replaced. They said they may need to replace both to match.
  3. It's in a position where a spill wouldn't have any impact. Think I've been unlucky. I'm hoping they will change it under extended warranty.
  4. 54k and 4 years old. It was starting to wear when I bought it just over 12 months ago. I only use leather cleaner and in cream form - not spray.
  5. Mine is wearing on drivers seat and dealer was shocked it had worm within 4 years. They said Lexus claim to have best leather on business. Im now waiting to see if lexus will change it.
  6. Ditto that Goggy. I have seen 60mpg on motorway run but average around 52mpg round town. I am always in normal mode with occasional sport mode when needed.
  7. You do have to buy polystyrene tray and carpet together. Carpet will fit on its own but as its thinner it will not support any load. Repair kit carpet is reinforced. You can use current tray with spare wheel and you cannot use current carpet with spare wheel tray. The fit and finish is as you will see on newer cars with spare wheel. I did not buy jack/tool tray as these retail at £140. I just placed tools into new tray and mounted jack under right hand tail lamp wrapped in cloth. Best if you look at car in dealer with spare wheel to understand what it all looks like and where jack is located.
  8. Apologies about order of photos.
  9. A few images from my spare wheel conversion......
  10. Be extra careful with Lexus Cambridge; their level of workmanship is pretty poor. I know, I bought mine from them and had 2 months of repair hassle!!
  11. I wouldnt tow anything with a CT. I personally would only fit a rear mounted bike rack and nothing else. Let us know how you get on with your towing experience. After all, its what this site is about.......isn't it?
  12. Just for accuracy - these are not shock absorbers but x-braces which span shock tower to shock tower. Unless you love speed around corners ( not something I relate a CT to ), then I wouldn't bother with wasting £300+ of hard earned cash. Use it to add a spare wheel and trim - better investment.
  13. Hi, yes, sorted it out. I can't add photos on here, so message me and I will send some photos. I actually bought the correct parts from Lexus other than tool tray. Neat job with no rattles.
  14. Fit yourself. It is very easy and only takes 30 mins.
  15. It pays to check tyre pressures every 1/2 weeks for efficiency. Overtightening is also one of main causes. Finger tighten only ( lightly ). Im on aftermarket caps now - had my originals stolen possibly by some kid for his bike. Use antt-theft ones now.
  16. Looks tidy. When I've completed mine over weekend, I will add my contribution.
  17. Just residue but changed gasket anyway. Yes, they are chain driven.
  18. Just had to take mine in for oil leak from timing cover gasket. Dealership were astounded that a CT had come in for engine warranty work. Not saying its a common problem, but carry out quick check if buying used.
  19. Which company is that then?Let's just say they are a luxury brand. Not Lexus.
  20. Let's just say they are a luxury brand. Not Lexus.
  21. Updates are a rip off as they are not licences by Lexus. Thay are supplied by third party then Lexus add their cut. I've had one once which was CD based and wanted £130 for updates,10 years ago. Since then I have always been anti built-in systems.
  22. That's why I never buy a car with built-in sat nav. I have a Garmin with lifetime updates for £80. I bought a vent mount which keeps it all nice and tidy. You can also use the Garmin in any car, built-in you can't. With regards to buying new with sat nav, I would have asked for at least first 2 services and nav updates whilst still under warranty. If they refuse, try another dealer.
  23. I know car company I work for have now started to offer features which are normally standard as option. 60/40 rear seats, cigarette lighters as an example.
