  1. With the now common optitron ( I think that's how it's spelt ) display's, it gives you a false feeling your lights are on when in fact they are not. This is why I leave mine on Auto & agree they should be mandatory.
  2. Surely you'd only want it to record with ignition on??
  3. Think I'll them as OEM for now. Not too sure if changing will make make much difference & how long they will last. Appreciate all the feedback though. Thanks.
  4. Your beam with Xenon headlamps is controlled via a couple of factors:- Self leveling system is operational Load being carried Self leveling is mandatory on Xenon ( HID ) and operates via sensors on suspension. Those sensors detect vehicle weight ratio at front/rear and adjust headlamps to prevent glare to oncoming vehicles. Therefore, if you have weight in rear of car which raises front, system will compensate by lowering headlamp beam. Do you have anything weighty in rear of car? Failing this, if you bought from Lexus dealer, it would have a 1 year warranty so take it back & ask them to check Auto leveling system. Just as a final check though, take off auto and turn on manually to see if this makes any difference.
  5. Thanks for the comprehensive write up...... I assume then they are not worth the extra money or effort?
  6. Was wondering if upgrading headlamp bulbs would be of any benefit ( not HID ). Normal dipped beam is not as clear as I would have liked, so been looking to upgrade to white light type. Has anyone done this & if so what did you use? Also, not sure if replacement bulbs are as durable as OEM. Decent replacements are around £40-£80.
  7. Its good to hear that is the only complaint you have. It is a testament to the car and brand. Lexus are in my opinion, the best cars out there.
  8. I own 2011 model and had a 2014 when mine went in for steering knock. I have to say I was relieved to get back into mine after 3 days in 2014 model. I agree with steering wheel buttons and remote for screen. Won't go for NX though next.
  9. We are getting lazy - in every aspect of life. Just thought sitting in your car, with ignition off & lights on would not have helped the subsequent economy. If battery is low, engine runs longer = more fuel used. For me the setting should be:- OFF = Lights off with ignition 5 secs = 5 second delay after door open. 10 secs = 10 second delay after door open. and so on. Our cars are great, so we do tend to nit pick. lol.
  10. I find this annoying to be honest. When I power off car, I would have expected headlights to turn off - unless you have set delay to not to. I haven't found a setting to do this.
  11. With ECO & front wheel drive, I would expect it to perform well in such conditions. Let's hope we have a nice mild winter - no need to worry then. :D

  13. If you look at: http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/best-cars/64280/most-reliable-cars CT is in top 5 for reliability.
  14. With the colder weather setting in & this being my first winter in the CT, was wondering if anyone had any good tips on driving a Hybrid in ice & snow? I would imagine ECO mode would be best as it slows down throttle response, therefore should prevent wheel spin. Anyone with any tips ( Do's & Don'ts ) from last winter??

    Mpg

52mpg seems to be the average for me. Improves round town due to switching to EV mode.
  16. Shame as it's a nice feature - especially when audible has very low volume and sometimes leave my flasher on.
  17. I had a loan vehicle a few weeks ago and mirrors folded by pressing button on mirror adjust switch. it's on same button assembly but separate switch within it. Push button in to fold. Push in again to release button and unfold. It was manual op but may be able to configure so they are auto through dealer.
  18. Think I will just listen to talksport on AM...........
  19. I have 2011 model - is installation of DAB worth the outlay??
  20. Looks nice. Let me know if the feature is dealer configurable as I'd like to have it activated.
  21. Use heating function to clear - no need to use scraper.
  22. Steering knock can be detected just by moving steering wheel side to side in a steady motion. You can feel knock through steering wheel. If you are unsure, take it in and tell them you are aware of a bulletin regarding this issue. I had mine replaced last week and it resolved knock. Also had a 14my CT as a loan over weekend. Nice and improved but hated the Sat Nav with a passion. Washer jet - I usually do it with a needle but wasn't sure if this would damage jet as its a spray opposed to jet. Cheers.
  23. I bought my CT from Cambridge Lexus & can honestly say they were very poor. Sales were OK, however, they messed up some paint repairs and never re-fitted anti-squeal shims to brakes. I took it to my local Dealer in Brum & they fixed all the issues without any problems. Cambridge paid for it all though. Later found the rear bumper had been left loose and incorrectly fitted.
  24. My CT has developed a steering knock recently. I took it into dealer who advised there is currently a bulletin out to change intermediate column shaft to resolve issue. It will not be a recall or advised it needs doing unless your car exhibits the issue. Watch out for it. Also, my washer jet is blocked - anyone have any tips on how to clear without stripping car down?
