  1. I'm pretty sure button only works if you have smart entry. Standard switch on all CT's.
  2. Thanks guys - anyone without smart entry system?
  3. There are 2 separate buttons on boot switch. Longer one opens tailgate but small rounder one does nothing. My car is not remote entry but should this button do something? I've been told it opens tailgate only if pressed when car is locked but only functional with remote entry. Can anyone confirm this?
  4. Squeaks and rattles are predominantly from harnesess or part variation in manufacture/fit. Options fitted are also the main cause. They are all annoying but can say my CT has none, unlike many other vehicles I've driven. Most cars do not get dynamically tested for s&r during manufacture and is the reason they are so prevalent in most cars. Lexus designers are however some of the best in the world and is why the likes of Audi, BMW will never damage my bank account.
  5. I have 2011 SE-L and can confirm there are no tilting / folding mirrors. Does have heated seats, front & rear parking sensors and leather seats. I have also added cruise control. My wife initially was terrified of driving the CT, however, after realising it was the only way she could get to work, she started driving it & couldn't then get it back off her. She actually said she couldn't believe how much attention the car received, plus how easy it was to drive & no need to activate wipers and lights. She now has a Fiesta and have my Lexus back. p.s. If you look at CT 200 forum, you will notice there are very few ( possibly no ) issues with build & reliability. Great car to own & drive.
  6. Before I take the plunge, has anyone purchased and fitted bike rack to their CT? Only looking for 2 bikes and fitted to rear opposed to roof. I obviously also want to ensure it does'nt damage my pride and joy. Your recommendations are welcome.
  7. Let's see what People are getting and in which mode. It will help to adjust driving styles to get best from our great cars. So, 63.8 mpg at avg of 28 mph. Temp at 22c. This was in normal mode? I'm certainly not achieving anywhere near this.
  8. Connect the seat belt............ Drivers belt should not be an issue as you should always wear a seat belt. Passenger side - should only warn when there is a person in seat ( weight sensors ) and should not give out warning with no occupant.
  9. Tried holding button but no joy. It is an handy feature - especially close. Think I may get it enabled and see how it goes. Thanks.
  10. I was expecting a Lexus to have global window close when locking car. If windows open, then they would close automatically when car locked. I can't find any settings within car settings, so assume this is dealer configuration? Anyone got it on theirs and if so is it dealer job?
  11. Parking sensors were factory fit as mine is SE-L. Probably result of respray at some point. Did not fit it right at centre top and made profile to lower edge of tailgate uneven.
  12. Geof, Send me your email address & I will send them to you............. For some reason, I cannot upload to the site.
  13. Had to remove my rear bumper today - had not been fitted correctly previous to purchasing. They are quite east to remove:- 1. Remove covers from top fixing points ( tailgate open ) 2. Remove screws from under covers. 3. Remove 1 screw at top of bumper at wheel arch - both sides. 4. Remove x8 scrivets under vehicle ( bumper to body ). 5. Gently pull bumper out at sides to unclip from side bracket. Pull bottom of bumper out simultaneously to assist. Perform both sides. 6. Disconnect parking sensor connector from harness. 7. Lay bumper on carpet or soft material to prevent scratches. Reverse procedure for refit. Will try to post some images later.
  14. Outside temp display is within small LCD window in instrument cluster on my 2011 model. It is very small and would have been better placed within A/C unit display.
  15. If its under warranty, take it in and ask them to sort it,after all, its what you pay for. I have 2011 model and mine doesn't drop connection.
  16. You can also adjust parking sensor volume, although this has to be carried out by dealer. Beep, beep when selecting reverse ( not parking sensors ) can also be switched to single beep
  17. I also have it on permanently. Just try to keep revs at zero or as low as possible whilst engine is running. I do find it reverts back to eco gauge when in cruise control.
  18. Just wondering if improvement in ride harshness on 14my cars is down to suspension tuning and/or tyre size changes? I have 205/55/16 on mine at the moment & was thinking if moving to 195/60/16 would help ride? As profile would increase, this may help a little. I had a look at 14my a few weeks ago & see they have padded console armrest area. Other than that ( I didn't drive it ), couldn't see much of a change. There was an additional USB ( now x2 ). I bought a power unit which gives me x2 USB charging ports along with x2 power sockets. Also designed to fit into cup holder receptacle in console. Does the job.
  19. Sorry, it wasn't meant to come across as being aggressive. The 11 model year I have does have a harsh ride and do agree with on that score. If 14 model year has corrected this, then I may have to look at one next year. It is a great car other than mpg for some plus minor design flaws which are almost unnoticeable after owning for a couple of months.
  20. I always use NORMAL mode unless I'm in slow moving traffic, in which case I switch to ECO. EV mode is pointless for me as the system switches to EV when it needs to. SPORT mode I've used a few times but only for overtaking on single lanes or out do the odd Chav at lights. ECO mode softens the accelerator response and therefore increase your mpg.
  21. I'm a little alarmed at this statement. If I look at buying a replacement vehicle, I always try to have an idea of what type of driving I will be undertaking. In this instance, driving to/from Spain plus motorway use does not hit me as being a Hybrid choice. As previously mentioned, a Diesel would have been more beneficial, especially, where Diesels are king in Europe. When I looked at replacing my 9 year-old Yaris ( not that I really wanted to but had some cash burning a hole in my pocket ), I knew most of my mileage would be urban, A roads & odd trips around UK. The CT serves my purpose. I regularly achieve 58 - 62mpg from mine. What I'm saying is - understand your requirements BEFORE you look at the type of vehicle you purchase. For me, the CT is an ideal car for my needs.
  22. I got rid of a yaris for the CT and insurance on Lexus is cheaper than the yaris was. No complaining though.
  23. Sounds like a common issue with Lexus. I travelled around 30 miles away from my home yesterday and lost all local stations - which I had no problems with in previous cars. Even attempting to retune into alternative stations didn't locate any decent signals. Just wondering if changing antenna on roof to one which may be more sensitive would help? I find now I just listen to music on my USB - I get too annoyed with crackling radio stations.
