  1. I feel for you Philip. It took me what felt like ages to find mine. I too was looking for almost the same car - a sub 50K ideally 2008 on facelift SE-L MM auto not in silver (my last two cars were silver and although I like it I was seriously bored of silver) and I also wanted cream leather. I was willing to travel up to around 250 miles (from the south coast where I live) and even then I had problems. I ended up buying mine from Lexus Stoke as like you I would prefer to buy from a dealership, although I would still consider privately. The car actually seemed relatively good value, especially compared to dealers nearer me. I ended up having to compromise slightly on the 2008 facelift part, in the end I bought a late pre facelift (57 plate). I couldn't ignore the value though. I had been looking around for ages and the best deal I could find on the facelift (58 plate) from a dealer was 3K more expensive. 3K just seemed like too much of a premium for what is essentially the same car. I paid 10K for mine back in March. It's a 57 plate with 43K on the clock, Mercury Grey with Ivory leather, auto and multimedia. I love the car and it's in great shape plus I got the year warranty, major service before it left and a couple of other bits thrown in. The best deal I could find on a facelift at the time was from Lexus Leicester for 13K. I would have considered spending 11-12K but 13 just seemed too much considering the quality/value of the car I bought. It seems you're looking in the right places so I would just hold out and the right car will show eventually - I know it's just painful waiting!
  2. Yes both my seats are electric memory too in my SE-L. I have standard cruise control which is better than nothing but radar would be lovely. My Dad gave me a lift to the airport in his CT and it was impressive - makes for a very relaxing motorway experience!
  3. My Dad has a 2011 SE-L Premier and his had ML audio and the Sat Nav screen is used for the rear view camera so I guess if you buy the right spec all is good in that department. A couple of cool features I do really like from his are the radar guided cruise control and the hard drive sat nav/music system. I know you can get these on the later IS models but mine is a 57 plate so has DVD based sat nav and ML audio and no optional radar :( One thing I do find odd though is that his driver's seat is electric and memory and the passenger seat is totally manual? Would have thought it would have at least been electric!
  4. I think the spec for spec argument is one of the reasons for choosing Lexus across all the models in the range!
  5. Interesting seeing other opinions on the CT. I had a 2014 model F-Sport as a courtesy car and didn't find the ride all that bad. Yes it was harder than my IS but I didn't think it was terrible. You can definitely tell it's the entry level Lexus but it still feels like a quality premium product for what it is and comparing it with the equivalent A3/1 series etc.
  6. Interesting article. Definitely a nicer car than the Nissan Leaf! :D
  7. Yes I'm glad I got the auto for the tax reasons alone. It's odd that auto is more efficient than the manual as in most other cars it is quite often the other way round
  8. What's wrong with the navigation does the screen just not turn on?
  9. Link to article? Electric cars are getting there IMO and not to mention hybrids have come a long way. I still think that hydrogen fuel cells could be the future when the technology takes off. Fill up at a traditional style fuel station, drive X amount of miles and fill up again all while emitting only steam. Plus surely the fuel companies can gradually switch to selling hydrogen so everyone can keep their jobs!
  10. Nice job. Mine aren't too bad but would still be nice if they were a little more shiny!
  11. Sounds awesome Graham, sorry to hear about the wheel but at least you will get it sorted this week!
  12. It may be worth someone else double checking but I'm sure I got told that last time I went in there.
  13. I'm sure I was told Andy left Poole but I'm not 100%
  14. Fair enough. I can understand it must be significantly more expensive to own a v6 petrol when petrol is more expensive than diesel. It's crazy that it's the other way around here. Not that I'm complaining as it makes filling up my IS250 a little better!
  15. Hmm I see what you are trying to do. I do like the twin eshausts on my IS250 but not sure if it suits the 300h, it could do with bumper cut outs to make it work well!
  16. Just being social lol The things we do for family!
  17. I drove the new CT200h F Sport as a courtesy car from Lexus last time my car went in. After seeing the negative reviews I was curious to see how it drove and to be honest I couldn't see what all the fuss was about. I actually really liked driving it. Yes the ride was firmer than my IS (it was an F Sport) but I enjoyed trying to keep it in EV mode and thought it was a lovely smooth driving experience and a solidly put together car. It's also a great looking car especially in white! Who cares what Clarkson thinks about it!
  18. I'm sadly watching it too with the Wife's family. Some of the entries are laughably bad and it's silly how it's so political but like you said whatever!
  19. Doesn't look like my sort of think but it's hard to judge without seeing both on from the rear
