  1. I've asked my Lexus dealer about that before and they said the warranty could continue to be extended past 10 years/100k. I've no idea whether the cost just jumps straight up. I'm not sure whether that's changed since but I've just extended my 2008 car warranty to 2019.
  2. I wouldn't call it a snotter but my daily is a Ford Fiesta Zetec S. Main reason is that I went through several months where my cars kept being hit in carparks and on nice cars it's just a bit annoying having to keep getting them fixed.
  3. It was pretty good. Nice place to be in though I'm not sure how much of that is because it was a Premium. Quick enough for most people. Interior is obviously a generation newer than the ISF and it shows but there are still issues (Sat nav is still crap for example). Touch screen replaced with mouse pointer thing which I preferred but I seem to be in the minority according to the dealer. It's a bit disappointing the electric motor doesn't have a longer range. It really struggled getting over a mile in an uphill 30 limit and I don't like the thought of fake engine/exhaust/gear change noise.
  4. When it was in for one of the previous recalls (fuel pump IIRC) the garage did an inspection on the car while it was in many bits and noticed that there was a crack on the radiator so to be safe they decided to replace it. Unfortunately parts supply was (and probably still is) slightly problematic. They tried Lexus UK but there wasn't one, there's apparently a big parts depot in mainland Europe (Germany I think they said) and they didn't have one. Had to go ask in Japan and they didn't have one either so Lexus Japan had to make me one I'm assuming it was assemble rather than make from scratch and a batch rather than just 1 but didn't get all the details. 2 weeks with a brand new IS300H Premium later and I got the car back. From memory the dealer said the bill would have been significant (well into 4 figures including labour).
  5. I've had the radiator replaced on the ISF. It was considerably more than £250 too. I was considering a Monaro/VXR8 when I looked at the ISF. Couldn't find a decent one to try at the time.
  6. There's a guy up on the Mendips with a Raptor. You don't so much as hear it coming (though it is quite loud) but feel it
  7. Spotted 2 Monaros on the list. Was it the same one again or did you just get another? For what it's worth heres my list mk1 Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 - Mint Green - Not technically my car but drove it enough to be considered for this. In reality total crap with 45bhp and 61lb.ft (those numbers are etched in my brain, I didn't even have to look it up). So many great memories at 17 onwards driving it and because it gave me the first taste of freedom like that it was brilliant. Opel Manta GTE Coupe 2.0 - Silver - Flintstone inspired floor was a nice "bonus" mk5 Ford Fiesta Zetec S 1.6 - Faded red but apart from paint and the seats it was brilliant Opel Manta GTE Coupe 2.0 - Black - A garage find that a mate of mine and I got back on the road and worked on for a couple of years. Honda Accord Type R 2.2 - Silver - Was desperate for something faster than the Fiesta but it was the wrong car for me at the time. Renault Clio 172 2.0 - Blue - Bought a bad one as I needed transport because someone offered me more than I was expecting for the Honda. Was great at 100% but tiring and uncomfortable at anything less. Skoda Fabia VRS 1.9 - Red - Not particularly exciting but did everything else well. BMW 130 M Sport 3.0 - Black - First 2 years were brilliant then it spent more time at the dealer than my house. Lexus ISF 5.0 - Silver Ford Focus 1.6 - Was bought as a shopping/tip run car. Did that fine but was uncomfortable. mk7.5 Ford Fiesta Zetec S 1.0 - It's so much better than it should be.
  8. Does it have to be wrapped to an official Lexus colour? I would have thought a dark purple or something would look pretty good on an ISF.
  9. Seeing as I have the F already can that not count towards my 100k? It's a difficult choice, there's so many things out there to try. Assuming I'd not have to worry about space/parking etc then Ford F150 Raptor Mazda RX7 with LSX conversion Westfield Megabusa (or similar) Something to do the tip/shopping run ISF
  10. I've done about 2/3s of that route before. Some fantastic roads round there although the first time I did it was the week before Christmas quite a few years ago and I nearly ended up sliding into a lake
  11. I knew it existed, tried it on the test drive before I bought it after the Jaguar XFR I test drove a few weeks before did something similar. Had no idea that's what it was called though.
  12. It's the 3rd longest I've owned a car. Only a BMW 130 which preceded the ISF and a Ford Fiesta have been kept longer. BMW turned into an unreliable POS which BMW couldn't seem to fix and the Fiesta it was just time for a change. It's standard, I just don't seem to have time/money/space to do stuff to it.
  13. Yeah, got mine from Bristol 3 years ago. They sold it originally to a guy from Bradford and when he sold it (to get another later ISF) they bought it from him.
  14. Better time to do it as not so many tourists and parking in Cheddar gorge is less/free than the summer. Just watch for the cyclists if the weather is fine
  15. If it was you then yours is the first other ISF I've seen being driven on the road. Was a bit surreal, like I was following myself (I wasn't in mine at the time). That sounds good. How often are the meets?
  16. If the damage is just a damaged door and wing, unless it was hit really hard you'd like to think the mechanicals are all fine. Considering how few there are I wonder at what point it'd be worth buying something like that to drive around in for a while but sell it for spares instead? Would seem a shame to break what could be a perfectly good car but it might keep several others on the road if they were to have accidents/breakages.
  17. I got a 3 year service plan with mine. Just about to have the last one (labelled as the 80k though it's not done that much). 60k, 70k and 80k for about £1400.
  18. I'm actually Somerset, Shepton Mallet area. I've only seen one other round here which was a silver one several weeks ago going south on the A37. Whereabouts are you?
  19. I suck at taking pictures but how about this one for something a bit different
  20. In no particular order What 3 things made you go for an IS F? - Lexus brand reputation which was confirmed on the dealer visit, performance (not just acceleration/top speed/standard performance benchmarks but fuel economy too) & the fact that it put a huge smile on my face on the test drive - despite driving round Bristol What 3 things would you change about the IS F? - The pathetic sat nav, swap round the gear change on the stick so it's the correct way & exhaust What 3 cars would be on your list if you sold your IS F tomorrow? - Part of me thinks it should be something completely different but I guess it depends on why the ISF would be disappearing. Lotus Exige, BMW M140, Vauxhall VXR8.
  21. I got the roof bars and 2 bike holders from my Lexus garage. From memory they're generic IS ones used to fit all saloons of that age.
  22. Had a look round the RCF in the dealer today. I might have misunderstood but the sales bloke said 200 for the year of which around 50 have been assigned to dealers leaving them with 150 to sell brand new which is apparently about 3 per dealer. They've sold one already.
  23. Mine went in for both recalls today. Based on previous experience (of 220 and 250) and comparing it with the bigger models they thought they could do mine in a day. Turns out that isn't quite the case but I've got a nice is300h to drive about in until it's done.
