  1. No less than when the ex prime minister gave his support to the weatherfield one. Deidre Barlow or whatever name she was under at that time, and coronation street is just a bloody soap.
  2. 676000 and counting. I bet ITV are rubbing their hands in anticipation! 300,000,000 people ready to hit the channel 3 button. What are the BBC to do?
  3. 676000 and counting. If he goes ITV will snap him up so what are the BBC to do? 300,000,000 viewers of the program switch to ITV?
  4. Get rid of football I say. 22 blokes chasing a bag of wind.....waits for the explosion. 😂
  5. He should stay. Not only that they should sack the producer and make him the new producer as well. I hate all the PC bulls hit we are being fed nowadays. If you don't like the programme, don't watch it. I would say do what they do with footballers, fine them, hit their pockets and that's that. They don't suspend a football match just because a player gets suspended do they.
  6. Damn, I've had my 2000 ls430 about a month now and love it, but I would have bought yours if I seen it first. And to make things worse both of my brother's live in southern Ireland so I could have made it a visit/purchase weekend.
  7. Ok back to the mpg. I filled the tank (£86) when it came up "low fuel" and it turns out that my 430 is returning 16 mpg around town as they say. So this lasted about 3 weeks and it's costing just under £30 per week. Considering I was puting £25 per week in my last car I'd say it's more than worth the extra £5 a week so all is well with the world 👍😊
  8. wheeler dealers is one of my most watched programmes. The first time I saw the ls400 episode I fell in love with the car. would have bought a bronze w reg one a few years back which was mint. I've watched the same episode several times and will probably get a box set.
  9. I've just looked at the prices for the irish road tax and it's astronomic. I entered the engine size as 4.3 litre and got this..... Road Tax Currently in Ireland there are 2 systems under which road tax is calculated for passenger cars and this is always a source of confusion, hopefully the following with explain the system to you. All cars older than 2008 have their road tax calculated based on the cars engine cc's. All cars that are 2008 or newer have their road tax calculated based on the cars CO2 emissions. The above is true in 99% of cases. The CO2 based system came into force in July 2008 meaning new cars registered between 1 January 2008 and 30 June 2008 initially had their motor tax charged on the basis of the existing engine size (c.c.) system. However, a low CO2 emitting new car registered between 1 January 2008 and 30 June 2008 had its motor tax switched to the lower CO2 based motor tax rate on first renewal of motor tax post 1 July 2008, when the new CO2 based system commenced. New cars which were registered in the first 6 months of 2008 whose tax would be more under the new CO2 based system continue to pay motortax on the basis of engine size. " Road Tax Calculator Text Tax, followed by a space, then the registration number to 57252, e.g. Tax 00D1234. Texts sent are charged at normal network rates and the cost of reply from us is €2.00. This is not a subscription service. What year is your car? 2008 or newer Older than 2008 Please enter the car's engine cc's: Rate Per Year : €1809 6 Months : €1003 3 Months : €511 You can calculate your motor tax also by downloading our app and simply entering your vehicle registration number.
  10. There's another one on offer with oil mixing with water but I felt that would be anything but a simple fix. I will see if I can find it. This is the one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2006-Lexus-LS-430-4-3-V8-4dr-Auto-SATNAV-DVD-SCREEN-LEATHER-/141574515881?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item20f67faca9 I just looked at the pictures of this one and in one of them I can see the little black switch under the handbrake release that is the same on my car. I still don't know what this is.
  11. Thanks for the reply. I just like to know if anything is supposed to work, then I want to make it work, if you know what I mean. Cheers.
  12. Here's a couple of pics of what appears on screen.apologies if they come out sideways or upside down. One screen shows the phone option , the other shows a number pad to add a telephone number.
  13. Thanks Steve I've checked out the manual pdf and I do have the manual myself but cannot find anything about it anywhere. Perhaps although it has it on the screen, it isn't an option on the 2000 model? I shall try to work it out in the car.
  14. This probably sounds daft but can anyone explain how to set up the phone, assuming it's a bluetooth system. Thanks.
  15. Me and a mate of mine used to ride motorbikes etc over the fields when we were kids in the mid 70's, he had a bantam and I had a powapack engine from a bicycle rudge on the back of my bike. We both used to pitch in together to get a gallon of petrol. Probably cost about 15p then....ah those were the days. :D
  16. Interesting reading all this as I have stated that I don't do many miles on my commute but as yet not had any issues at all. I used to use a trickle charger on my bike as I only used it in fair weather. The charger was for all types of vehicles including caravan batteries and my leisure battery for my caravan is on the trickle charge now. One point about not alarming the car is that the insurers would question that point if the vehicle was stolen wouldn't they? If they can get out of paying out they will for sure. Probably cheaper to buy another battery in the long run and for peace of mind.
  17. Back in the late 70's I had a kawasaki 250 S1. Triple everything. Omg, that was fast then!
  18. Is that a picture of you on an Rd yammy there? I've been into bikes myself until my wife had the stroke and had to sell mine. I had a 1520 goldwing interstate so I guess big engines are in my blood
  19. Well I suppose we might be doing some siteseeing depending how my wife is so it's possible that we might end up that way.
