  1. Thanks for that. I really didnt want to have to remove them if I could get away with it....... The prob is, there is residue on the inside which looks ******* when the lights are off, I wanted to give em a good buff up inside aswell as dry the bad one out, never mind, looks like a busy weekend ahead...................... Thanks anyway mate
  2. Ive been using Maguires since I got the car and ran out of it last week. What I did, as I used to do on my Capri RS3100 was to use Auto Glym Super Resin Polish (A good thick layer, well rubbed in), buffed up, then spray a bit of the missises Mr Sheen and buff up with a really soft duster. Result: A glass-like shine all over so deep you can measure it. In all honesty, I rate this better than Maguires Gold. I suppose it looks good on mine cos its a dark colour, try it an see guys.
  3. I used a bit of Duraglit Silver on mine and it brought the stubborn tar spots of aswell.
  4. My n/s headlamp get all misted up inside sometimes. Is is possible to split the plastic front glass from the case in situ, or does the whole lot need to come out? Can you buy new headlamp glass (cos mines scratched)?
  5. Hi Guys, A Mate of mine who races an old Corolla AE86 has put me onto a place that does a fair amount of gear for IS200/300 and Tezzers. Also, there is a mighty fine tezza on the site for sale, bit procey but you gewt plenty for your money if anyone interested. check out WWW.fensport.co.uk Im still new to the Lexus so Im unsure whether his stuff his expensive or not, post some replies here please guys, see what you think :P
  6. Im off to the Motor Show 30th May, is anyone else going, perhaps it could be a good idea for an impromptu meet?
  7. This is a really ****ty thing to happen to anyone. Unfortunately its a sign of the times, and unfortunately also, that most of the time its kids thats had a drink whilst sat in the park with their mates and do it to show off to girls. Mind you, Im **** scared of mine going through. Our business competitor is a nob, and when we first got started he threatened to have our throats cut, burn our houses down, rape our women and nick our kids, we reported it to the police and he got cautioned, but its only a mtter of time before he learns ive got a lexus and he will definately put a window through one night. I think in this day and age, us decent law abiding folk should stick together. I used to have a security firm which was staffed by purely ex sqaddies who got stuck in and asked questions later, the police didnt like the fact that we dressed in black with berets and had "devices" to inflict "minimum" pain. They let it go, but when they saw we were doing a better job then them, they put a stop on things. I STRONGLY believe in the public doing WHATEVER they like to stop people who do this sort of thing. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. Insurance companies dont care, they are a profit making organisation who do everything within their power to not pay out, the police are only interested in high profile crime that scores them PR points and alot of joe public just turn a blind eye cos they have their own bag to deal with. It winds me up when people work hard for what they have and live an honest life, only to be burdened with stress, pain and anguish caused by peasants who know nothing more. Im really sorry to see the damage mate, its extra money to just throw away. If you are struggling to pay for a new screen I will willingly make a donation to assist. This sort of thing really, really does me in, no matter who it happens to. Chin up,
  8. Im looking for an induction kit. I telephoned K&N and they told me that it is not possible to fit an induction kit as the air box forms a part of the rocker cover, is that right? There must be some way of fitting one, and I cant actually find anyone that makes one, I tried K&N, Green Cotton and one or two others. Im on a bit of a budget so cant afford anything too expensive. I figure if I can fit one of these, and also fit some form of Power Boost Valve, it might increase lower end throttle response? Am I doing the right thing?? Help me please...............................
  9. Can anyone help me please. What is the best method of cleaning your calipers prior to painting, and what is the best type of paint to use? Thanks
  10. can someone please email me with details on how to pay for stuff. Thanks. I have a paypal account if that is anygood......
  11. Can I have a set of nice shiney caliper stickers please. How do I pay?
  12. Can I have a set please? How do I pay ? Cash ? Cheque ? Credit Card ? Pay Pal ? Gold Bullion ? 1C6 please, Granite Sky
  13. Ive only had my lexus for about 3 weeks now, and I noticed last week that the pillock at the dealer I bought it from had used a machine poisher incorrectly which left some swirl marks embedded in the bottom of two doors. My mate told me to use meguires, so I bought a full kit online (£39.00 ish - cant remember exactly how much) and I tell you what, its brought the car up like new. In the ket you get soft wash shampoo, anti-swirl stuff, liquid polish, quick detailer to top up the polish and some well good tyre-dress. Believe me it is well worth the money, it beats MER, Autoglym and all the others hands down. The end result is a particularly deep lustre that you can shave in !, and it looks really sexy on my car with it being such a dark colour. Give it a go. :winky:
  14. Drill a couple of very small diameter holes underneath so the water will drain out. My Old Focus (RIP) :yack: was the same and I used a 1.5mm drill. it worked well, and you cant see the holes. :winky:
  15. I have noticed that when moving off in 1st gear, when I change from 1st to 2nd, the gears seem to clunk into mesh unlike changing from 2nd to 3rd to 4th etc. Is this normal, or am I right to suspect a little wear ? surely there should be no wear within 50,000 miles? (and if anyone asks, yes I do depress the clutch !!!! ;) )
