  1. Its OK saying that theyre only kids following fashion but its only a fashion followed by thugs and they wear them to intimidate, knowing full well that their presence wearing a hooded top automatically makes us all aware of thier presence, but somewhat "scared" of them. I say Balls to em. If a motorcyclist has to remove his helmet at a filling station, so should anyone else remove a hoodie if asked to do so. Old people feel threatened by them, shopkeepers have to be careful, people darent say anything to them because they cant see their faces, so feel a little scared, which makes the individuals concerned feel bold as brass, plus the CCTV cant identify them. What a brilliant yet cunning plan - millions of pounds of CCTV and surviellance eqpt rendered completely useless, by a 20 pound item of clothing ! If they were true followers of fashion, they would have their hair spiked and 2 gallon of gel applied, so there would be no hoodies. The hoodie is the preferred tool of the trade, just like the AK47 is the preferred weapon of the enemy Bann em all from wearing them, make them illegal as they have no use whatsoever, and give anyone the legal right to smack em in the mouth if they think that someone "looks" shify.
  2. Whats the plan for the Friday then? I will be working for at least the morning, so I intend coming down mid afternoon, arriving all being well about Dinner Time, what time will the gate close, any ideas yet? Who else is going to be there on the Friday evening for a few amber nectars?
  3. The next stage of the development is underway - Suspension & Brakes ! Tein with EDFC DBA 4000 Series Brake Discs front and Rear with Ferrodo Pads 5Zigen GN+ 18" Rims in Bronze Would be very very nice if I could lay my hands on a set of front calipers of some sort; AP/Wilwood etc etc. Should look and handle much better. Shes back in the bodyshop again next week to get the cracks in the front bumper sorted and to get the rear spoiler removed and the new one fitted. Not happy with the grafix so their in the process of being redesigned, it seems that the chrome vinyl doesnt like sharp pointy edges and lifts a bit in places, which is just not on.
  4. When I was in Belize we encountered some rather exquisite fodder. Theres a particularly foul smelling flying insect, which is really a big green beetle, which spits at you when you go near it. I cant remember the name of the damn thing, but I know it tastes like warm rubber mixed with urine basically you pick these things up and drop them in boiling water for a bit until they stop swimming , then you snap the legs off and strip off the shell on its back exposing the meat, and you use its shell as a spoon. Like I said, tastes horid, but is pure protien and keeps you going until the next meal. Ive also samples hedgehog. Wrap in mud and bake under your camp fire, gas mark 6 for 2 - 3 hours or until golden brown, take out, let cool for a bit. Then break away the mud which pulls the skin and spines with it, and away you go. Tastes a bit like pork, but a bit more oily. Frogs can be nutritous (depending on variety - some are deadly poisenous). Im rather partial to haggis, and a nice bit of Trip (with french onions and Chips) - MMMMMM - Yummy
  5. I voted (as I always do). Turned out nice again !
  6. Well Ive just bought one or two bits. Ive got a Alpine Cabinet for the boot, with a Alpine Mono Amp for it, a couple of Kicker's to replace the rear speakers and a whole bag full of wires and complicated looking connections. All I have to do now is fathom out how to connect it all in. Im seriously thinking of ordering a new head unit aswell, which will also be Alpine with the iPod link. I know there is a double din face plate available for the IS now so you can add to it with a dvd on the top, but thats for the future. All this jargon talk about ICE really confuses me, I dont have a damm clue, the last time I needed to buy a stereo was for my capri about 15 years ago, and it had push buttons at the front with the red radio needle that moved when you pressed them in.......and it had Long Wave ! :D I would like a nice install in the boot, has anyone got a template so I can build a false floor? Ive got the sub-box, and will have one amp for that, plus another for the rest of it, plus 2 x polished alloy 11lb bottles for nitrous and CO2. should look nice - shopping will have to go on the back seat ! Any advice at all about wiring this lot in would be nice, I understand that you need to totally re-wire everything, something about the amp being seperatefrom the standard head unit??
  7. Why? - Why not? :winky: No, its not Nitrous its compressed carbon dioxide. See you all on Sunday !
  8. I think the dental floss idea might work. I will give it a go. I need to take it off cos ive got a very nice high level carbon pilon one for it. goes well with the rest of the car.
  9. Im planning bigger system. Basically I want the jets to come from where they are, plus through the vents in the bonnet, and out trough each wheel-arch. Its gonna take some developing though cos I have a large 11lb polished bottle in the boot, and that dont last very long any way. It should be a good show stopper when its finished.
  10. great at traffic lights and zebra crossings ! :D :D :D =========================== Download the video here : [ here ]
  11. Im trying to remove the standard sport spoiler as I have a new one to fit. I have removed the 3 nuts from inside the boot lid lining but its well stuck. I think its maybe been stuck in place with that double sided 3m rubber stuff they use. Is there such a thing as a release agent for the adhesive they use? I need to get it off without breaking it as a replacement one is a bit pricey and I dont want to prize it off as it will damage the paintwork.
  12. Put me down for the northern one please Ken. Me in Lex plus Phil in the Transit Van !
  13. the silver ECU lowers the RPM by about 50 to prevent the ignition cut thus preventing damage to the pre cats also stores fault codes etc think it was about £300 ish the black one doesnt log or drop the RPMs just tells the ECU to see a +ve pressure. ← Thanks fluff, possibly a waste of money for me. I dont have any pre-cats.
  14. I dont mind buying one if I have to. Whats the difference between the black and the silver. Does it monitor/control other things. Are they expensive to buy Mat? I dont have a contact number anymore for TTE, Ive lost it. Any chance you could PM the number and contact name to me please.
  15. Thanks Gord, I will PM Dunc and see if he wants to sell it. Thanks mate Pete
  16. I think my little black ECU for the TTE Charger is duff When it is wired in, I get warning lights illuminating in the dash-display. The TRC OFF Light flashes and the main engine warning light is illuminated. The wiring has been checked and double checked, all connections are good (soldered), and the main ECU has been re-set just to make sure. Are there any test procedures that I coould perform with the TTE ECU, like with a multimeter etc. I seem to think its a duff one, so how much is a new one gonna cost me if this is the case?? Gonna need it quick though, the car is in for engine change today/tommorow. Plus, is it safe to drive the car gently without the TTE ECU installed??
  17. Interesting photograph Gord, funny thing is, why is that bloke in the pic trying hard to twist his own head of :D
  18. The trouble with Gold Plating is that it has to be etched in copper solution and plated with copper to take the gold plate. The gold plate is real 22ct but is less than a micron thick, and as gold is soft, it wears off. The brush plating method is fairly good as you can layer the gold to a greater thickness.
  19. Yipee, Ive seen light at the end of the tunnel. I have found an engine, and bought it. Luckily the proceeds of the spares I have sold so far just about cover it. Full engine, less alternator and starter motor, 15,000 miles genuine, with a 3 month warranty - £650 delivered to the door ! My question is though - will it be OK running on the existing ECU? I would imaginie it should be OK, but best check first ...... Looks like Ive gotta spend easter stripping the old engine out instead of eating chocolate and drinking beer ! I will then, most probably, when Ive raised some more cash, have this old engine totally rebuilt by a specialist.
  20. Yes, welcoome to the club matey. Theres loads of folk on here to give you good sound advice if and when you need it. Its the best club of its kind by far.
  21. I dont have that problem, I live in a smoke free zone - no bonfires, no coal fires. Its a new local council "green initiative" - but I think they forgot that we have the 2nd largest steel plant in europe, so it wont make much difference to the acid rain or silt deposits
  22. We have some gold leaf vinyl if you wanted anything cutting.
  23. I thoought she was finished........but the engine needs to come out, Im suffering some serious valve slap and the head at the very least needs a rebuild, not sure about the bottom end as yet. So you can all imagine how I feel at the minute, I could cry....seriously. Heres a few pics of the finished item: Shame I cant drive her anywhere.........Ive heard of cars having all the show and no go.....but no go at all comes to mind !!
