  1. Ive sorted it now. I managed to source some adaptors off an old MGB's brake lines of all things. The thread size is actually 1/8" UNC. The problem came wth the lack of space to do anything so I had to put together a christmas tree arrangement. Here is a pic takenn from underneath of the new arrangement incorporating the SPA Design Temp Sensor, the SPA Design Pressure Sensor and the original pressure sensor which I put back in as a fail-safe:
  2. And here is a brief idea of the gauges that have been installed. I opted for the combined Oil Pressure & Oil Temperature, with a blue backlight, and the Combined Boost Pressure and EGT, again with the blue backlight. Both have white fascias. They look mint now they are in place. Ive mounted them each in their own little pod on the top dash tray insert, and have placed the menu/tell-tail buttons on the tray itself. All looks good to me.....
  3. Well, shes nearing completion of this stage in her development. The engine is nearly complete, all that is needed there for now is the wiring loom to be re-wrapped and the CO2 Jets to be installed in the bonnet vent. We are now busy cutting the main body graphics ready for fitting later in the week. We had a design problem - how do we incorporate Lexus with Genesis? We found the solution and have incorporated the Genesis "G" with the original Lexus Logo, with an interesting outcome: See what you think Heres a pic of the car in side view with just the sponsor graphics applied to the side skirt in different colours as opposed to vertically down the doors, which is the common practice and preferred fashion. Were trying to be a bit different, and not just following standard practice - who knows, it may catch on (with a bit of luck):
  4. Woopeeeee, Ive just had my insurance quote for the car with ALL MODS DECLARED. £579.00 I couldnt believe it, thats about 250 quid cheaper than the quote I had with Green Flag!
  5. Should be back on the road this weekend coming. All the mechanical work has been done, she's running. I just need to finish installing the gauges and put some switchgear in and bobs your uncle. Unfortunately, I haven managed to get all the engine bay completed. I still have the fuel rail, alternator and a few other small bits to do, but the polishing shop is stacked up and paying jobs come first, so I will have to wait a little longer to get them finished. The Nitrous System is not going on until shes been re-maped with the Dastek. The Carbon Bonett comes early next week. Projects like this are never finished but I would imagine that it will be just about there with all the major suff within the next 2 weeks.
  6. And here is a pic of one of my wheels. All that is needed now is to fit the new centre decals, tyres and they can go on. I think they look nice especially when the light reflects off the rainbow metalflake.
  7. I need to know what the thread size is for the existing oil pressure sensor on the IS200, does anyone know. I am basically going to extract it and put a tee piece in there for two other sensors, oil pressure and oil temp. Also, can anyone help me by telling me where is the best place to put the boost sensor for the boost gauge, its an electronic type, not mechanical. Thanks
  8. And here are a couple of the front bumper ready for grafix
  9. Its starting to take shape under the bonnet now, heres a pic of how things are looking. Should be finished some time in the next week or so.
  10. My Gauges came today, very nice too. I opted for the Autogauge Smoked ones, you cant actually see the dials until you switch the ignition on. Ive tested them, and I like them very much. Ive got the Boost Gauge, Electrical Oil Pressure and Electrical Oil Temp, all to be mounted in an A pillar mount. I was hoping to have an EGT and AFR, but space is rediculously tight as I dont want to be drilling unwanted holes into the dash, but then again, I wonder if there is such a thing as a blanking plate so I can ditch the Hifi and have an aftermarket one fitted, that way I would have some space above/below it for some more instruments. What I need, is a spare drivers side A pillar trim so I can experiment with the A Pillar Pod Mount. It needs alot of work to get it to fit right. Ive managed to source a switch pod, which is going to sit central ontop of the dash top tray. This will house the switchgear for the show lights and Nitrous etc as follows: Switch 1 Nitrous Arming Switch Switch 2 CO2 Purge & illuminate Switch 3 Main Underbody LED Master Control Switch 4 Under Bonnet LED Master Control Switch 5 Under Bonnet LED Pulse Switch 6 Under Bonnet Strobe I also need to find a place for the Maximiser Digital Progressive Controller. maybe I could mount it where the Hifi is, if I can find a nice fitting blanking plate.
  11. Ive always stuck with Sony gear. It has never let me down at all, ever. I have the Sony 32" WEGA with Sony DVD & Video & Hi-fi with Surround Sound package. I think the Sony one is the better option, in my own personal opinion.
  12. Well, Ive had to drill out every bolt and now Im faced with trying to find some more. Ive spoken to WheelMania who can get them sometime this year ! I suppose I could use M6 and just bond them in, but I dont have much depth to play with. The hole is shaped the same as a cap-head bolt, with enough depth to have only 5mm of thread. I dont know if its possible, but I hope I can source some M6 x 5mm Stainless Cap Head Screws, which I can polish and bond them straight in. Failing that I m gonna have to use M6 x 10mm Alluminium and cut 5mm off each one - all 56 of the blooming things. Does anyone know if you can get M6 x 5mm cap head screws ??
  13. I registered the company phones and fax with the TPS and FPS, and I dont get any unsolicited calls or faxes now. If you get any, just ask them which company they are from, their name and then tell them you are TPS registered - they soon hang up - cos they can get a 5 grand fine for each call they make to a TPS registered number
  14. You wont be able to chrome your intercooler unless you intend splitting it and having it re-cored as the whole item needs to be submersed. Plus it needs to be near on polished first before etching and triple plating, and you will damage the core also. Also, its pointless chroming or plating anything that is alloy. The Intercooler pipes are Stainless, which polish to a mirror finish which will outlast chrome for good looks and the parts need to be polished before chroming anyway, so no point really. Anyway, I thought you had written the car off ?
  15. Anyone in the north fancy meetin up at possibly the largest single "all-make" cruise in the North? check out www.donnycruise.com/convoys It should be a good night out with some nice motors and spanking totty to oggle at...... :P
  16. Good *** mate, that really stinks. Glad your OK though. You know what, reading this sort of thing realy makes my blood boil. I know your a bobby, but ***** dont you think its about time we all stood up and threw these effing scumbags out, once and for all. I feel real sorry for you, I feel angry and I feel embarrased to live in this country. Yes, Im sensitive (especially after my cousin was raped and slashed across the face with a stanley knife by a group of immigrants 2 years ago - I f*** hate them)
  17. Yes there is. Trust do a good one. I know where you can them from aswell. The chap I use can get them to order delivered within 2 weeks.
  18. I need to take the cover off first before I can get one made. maybe if there is enough interest I will have a few done. I need to know if I can take it off first anyway
  19. Its nice to know that you exercise and maintain extremely tight tolerences..... :duh: :D :D
  20. I need a couple of gaskets/seals. I need the Cam Cover gasket/seal and the exhaust manifold gasket(s). Do I have to buy a full head-set or can I source them separate from Lexus
  21. I need some help please. Those of you with the TTE Compressor will have noticed that the main pulley on the compressor itself has a black plastic cover on the front. This cover is held on with 3 screws, and a bolt in the centre. I need to remove this cover so it can be replaced with a polished one, but I dont want to remove it if there going to be surprises, i.e oil spillage or internal components that twang everywhere has anyone removed this cover? What is behind it, and is it safe to remove? Thanks
  22. I got rid of my Focus not too long back. It was a shame to see it go actually cos it never let me down, it was economical, a bit of a workhorse really, and it went really well. The Zetex is bullet-proof if you keep her serviced on time and dont skimp on the oil quality. I had the Ghia with the 6 disk CD under the seat and stuff. It was a decent enough car - and you can the tune the Zetec very easily. You should get a very nice clean one for the 4 grand budget.
  23. OK, another major modification to add to the list of things on the Genesis Project is a Wizardsofnos Streetblaster 100i Nitrous kit with Minimax controller and CO2 Purge kit through the vents in the bonnet. Should be a nice little addition :D
  24. Ive got the Unichip and never had a problem.
