  1. All "official" figures should be taken as an absolute maximum in perfect conditions, which in the real world will not be achievable, realistically does anyone really expect a 2 tonne AWD petrol automatic vehicle to give 50+ mpg? I would expect high 30's to be about the norm? I wouldn't expect much more from any of the diesel competitors. My last car was a 2006 Hyundai Santa fe diesel auto, which had an official figure of 34mpg, over 7 years and 100,000 miles I achieved about 32mpg average with ~35mpg on a run, which was pretty close, but newer cars are more optimised for testing, with longer gears/hybrid systems etc. My current IS, I was expecting about 45mpg, and so far I am pleased that I am getting nearly 47mpg, which is probably about the same as I could have got from an unrefined noisy BMW 320d, on a gentle run I have had it showing 60+ as an average, but numerous short journeys bring the average down.
  2. Very good point, and that is how I feel as well, to spend £30-£40k on a car, based on fuel consumption is madness, when a new car loses £5k+ in depreciation a few hundred more on fuel is negligible.
  3. Isn't that what the paddles effectively do, I am new, but find using the paddles and forward planning, I rarely need to use the brakes.
  4. The car was used, so it sounds like the previous owner, or I suspect more likely the dealer held onto them.
  5. Hi Steve, that was my reaction as well, but I think the rubber mats are part of the protection kit? I don't think any mats come as standard, although given the price, you would think they should.
  6. Thanks Rayaans, that was my concern, there are a lot of much cheaper alternatives, but pointless if they only last 18 months. It's an expensive car, I don't want to spoil it with cheap mats.
  7. I currently have the lexus rubber mats which are "functional" and ideal for winter, however for summer use would prefer carpet mats, lexus ones are about £90 which seems very expensive, being about double what can be found on ebay or amazon. I don't want universal ones, I want them to be a good fit, are the lexus ones worth the money, can anyone recommend any cheaper ones?
  8. Sorted, just needs a lot longer wash than expected.
  9. Basic question but should the wipers work when the washers are used? Every car I have had for about the last 15 years has had it, so surprised that I have to spray the screen the use the wIpers separately.
  10. I have to say dab reception is appalling, last night I came back from bishop's Stortford to colchester on the a120 and barely got any reception on anything but bbc stations, I previously had a 7 year old pure portable unit and got perfect reception apart from a short stretch, for a "premium" vehicle the whole infotainment system is well below par and seriously let's the car down.
  11. I am getting comments that for the first minute of a call there is an echo, after that it is fine, does the system somehow adjust itself during calls.? Is this normal?
  12. After 3 weeks with my new (to me) '63 IS300h Premier, so far very pleased with it. The feeling of "luxury" when sitting in the car is fantastic, the leather soft and sumptuous, the ventilated seats great in this weather (if a bit feeble) the sunroof (yes very rare!) is lovely, providing light to the cabin, which is bright anyway with Ivory leather. The drive is sublime, incredibly refined, compared to my previous diesel, and the economy seems to be around 50mpg. The downsides are the infotainment system, with regular crashes, unable to answer incoming calls, and complaints of echos but apparently only for the first minute or so, my previous £200 7 year old Chinese unit never crashed and was far simpler to use, with house numbers being able to be entered when postcode search was used. Is it possible to mute the sat nav when using the phone? The only other niggle being a rattle seemingly from around the sat nav unit and dash, which hopefully will be solved by the dealer, my 9 year old Hyundai with 117,000 miles was rattle free. Overall, though the car is fantastic, and really has a feel good factor, the best thing about it being it's exclusivity - it is not a BMW or Audi!
  13. 2. Now if it could be remapped to use both power sources to the max for short periods................................
  14. I had a similar issue with mine, I eventually set up a new account and it works ok now, just need to sort out the crashing and inability to answer calls........................................
  15. I have only had mine for 2 weeks, but have done about 1200 miles, mine does not start when put into D, but quite often will start whilst sat stationary, even after a long run when everything is warm, and presumably fully charged. I also notice that the battery seems quite a bit lower after standing overnight, may just be my imagination, as I probably run on electric for 1/4 mile up my road before manoeuvring into my drive, so probably run it don, but don't notice?
  16. I have been playing with the features on my IS300h Premier, and had registered on the portal earlier in the week, and had it working, now all I get is "there has been an error in completing your request please try again later" It is not incorrect password etc, I have tried putting In an incorrect one and it then gives a different message. Anyone else getting this?
