  1. Thanks, hopefully will be ok, mines used 69 plate, all looked good, I can’t believe the extras, see what this B&W sound is all about. The tow bar was a massive £1175, can’t believe people pay that, shame as it’s never been used and I’ll never use it, decent bit of kit how you can’t see it, hopefully will be desirable to someone come sale time.
  2. Yeh, 390bhp so doesn’t hang around. Saying that it actuality it doesn’t feel like it has that much power on tap, well as much as you can on a 15 minute test drive. Car being delivered next week.
  3. I can see why, my effective cost would be £150 per year, only reason I may give it up is that I’ve never used it!! Not looking forward to the 60k full service though, I’ll see if they will do a deal £650 is a big chunk of change for a six year old car. They do my minor service for £180 which is a good price.
  4. As title, I just couldn’t find anything interesting from Lexus, I would have been really tempted had we got the new IS300h as other countries did. The current IS300h is great and my wife loves it so staying until it stops working! My car will be a 2020 Volvo S60 T8 plug in hybrid, it’s got epic performance figures 0-60 in 4.4 secs, supercharger and turbo charger, I’ve managed to get one without the 112mph limiter(not that I drive at that speed anyway). I managed to get one with almost every option ticked, pano roof, pitot plus, auto parking, 360 cameras, Bower and Wilkins sound £2.5k option!, retractable towbar (unused), folding seats, blind stop detection etc etc at a great price. I’m sure I’ll miss the Lexus reliability but just couldn’t find anything at the right price. Shame, I think there is a market for the new IS but Lexus think not.
  5. Cheers, I’ll ring them on Monday, thinking about it though, the reason I went for the warranty was it was relatively cheap when you consider two free mots(£100), 2 person Full AA membership for two years (£400) so actual warranty £800 for 2 years, minus £500 for for AA and mots and it’s £300 for two years, you can’t expect more than that! I’m assuming the new warranty won’t include AA and free mot, not much in it.
  6. My 2015 IS has had extended warranty after the manufacture warranty expired, I purchased the 2 for 1 offer in July 2020 so I’ve had 11 months worth, 13 months still to go, I assume I won’t get a refund as the second year is ‘free’. I’m also due for the £650 60k service, refund on the warranty would help with that!!
  7. Sorry, I know this is an old thread!!! With all these cat thefts my wife has been backing up her IS300h tight against a brick wall, so virtually no space between wall and rear bumper, I’m thinking to restrict access would it be better To have the front number tight to the wall?? I’ve no idea where the cat is, toward front of rear, sorry for the dumb question.
  8. Yes, excellent service from Lexus/AA Turned out to be a duff battery! I thought it was less than 3 years old but turned out to be more closer to 5 years. Original battery lasted 8 years and the replacement was the same GM part so assumed life would be about the same. AA charged £135 fitted for a Bosch which I don’t think too bad. Still got a glow plugs error code but seems to start fine, I’ll get it booked in for a full service and get them to look then. It’s a 08 Astra which refuses to give up and been a great car, leave where you like, skip runs, no worry about parking dings! 1st time needed breakdown cover in 13 years of ownership so done well, and battery maintenance anyway.
  9. Great, thanks for both those prompt replies, that’s really helpful and I’ll call tomorrow and hopefully get my banger repaired.
  10. My wife has the lexus extended for her IS300H which includes Road side assistance, she has added me on as a partner at the same address, I have my own card. I don’t drive a Lexus and I’ve had a issue with mine, it won’t start, Will the Lexus Roadside cover my car and would they recover only to a Lexus Dealer, my local mechanic is 2 minutes drive away. I cancelled my AA thinking I had full cover but looks like only recovering to a Lexus dealer would be of no use to me.
  11. Thank god they haven’t put those ridiculous horns on top of the speedo, puts me off any newer Lexus.
  12. Nice but made it look like a hatchback, a little like the Audi sportback or bmw 4 series gran coupe ie not obvious hatchback. It’s probably just me though.
  13. Anyone else had this? I use it as a phone charger as the USB ports don’t give enough power. I’m hoping it’s a fuse, anyone know where the fuse box and which fuse likely to be?
  14. I paid £795 for two years. I’m not sure if the two mots is a new offer or was on my previous warranty.
  15. I had an interesting conversation with service department, apparently my extended warranty has been extended for 3 months FOC, I had the notification for the breakdown cover but not his, I got them to double check and she said it was showing on their system. She also mentioned the 2 for 1 warranty has two free MOT's. So, I've decided to wait until the new warranty starts and book service and free MOT then. As the car will be 5 years old might as well take the essential service. The mot is not a problem as extended for 6 months, warranty for 3 months, service will be slightly out on date but millage is well below the limits. I'll risk that, Lexus have said they are "sympathetic" under the current situation and it will only be 4 weeks over.
  16. Thanks for the reply, I’ll try Milton Keynes who I use. you said ‘Extended Warranty programme ends on 30 May’ do you mean for me or are their some changes coming in?
  17. At the end of the month, my extended warranty, service and Mot is due. I understand that the Mot is extended for 6 months but I’m in two minds, should I buy the warranty now and leave the service and mot until later. I like the idea of having all three at the same time, It keeps it all in sync which could be important as the warranty has mot cover and breakdown. If I don’t buy it now then I run the car without warranty for 6 months, which is fine but will they need to do a re check before issue of new warranty? I assume Lexus won’t worry about a late service under the current circumstances.
  18. Yes I have driven cars with them, UX and EX, I'll concede that you do get used to them but having them near the gear level is fine and where you expect to find them, what I can't get over is how they look, absolutely horrific and quite why they carry it through the range I have no idea, seems a backwards step, other manufacturer are making everything more integrated and slicker, the rest of the interior is fine. It's just my opinion.
  19. I’d only consider a new IS if it doesn’t have those stubby horns that are on top of the instrument panel, all new Luxi seem to have them, look rubbish and poor ergonomically.
  20. Had auto glass replace the screen, however auto lights didn’t work. I’ve been told to drive it and will reset itself, not sure if that true, but I’ll find out soon enough when I can take it fir a drive.
  21. Driving on the A1 for a few days away during half term and stone chips soon turns into a full 12 inch crack. It didn’t seem that the stone hit that hard, I’ve had much worse on the works Astra which chipped but was simply repaired. Are these Lexus screens more fragile than others? also, anything to look out for or is it a case of calling auto glass and get it replaced. The car is IS300H 2105 exec. Thanks
  22. Seems more common on hybrids, bbc on it now. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-49767195 https://youtu.be/aUlikgzaDOE
  23. Thanks for the suggestion but I think way better cars available for £33.5k. Its' looking dated and I think poor value, been offered a 2019 540i for similar money with a 3 years warranty. After 3 years use I'm certain a 3 year 540i or 530i will be worth a lot more than a 6 year old Lexus GS.
