  1. Gutted for you mate, glad your ok. Really :tsktsk: you off the way :tsktsk: holes like these are quite confident to do stuff like this because they no even if they are caught, worse case senario is a couple of months in a nice cushty cell rigged out with cable and 3 good meals a day. Give me the job of cutting off there balls off, and shooting the peados, murderers and rapist. I wouldnt loose a wink of sleep. :tsktsk: . This country is a mess.
  2. Thanks for your responses so far fellas. All though it was in my opinion the most refined with nice looks, from what your saying it would be best to scrap the jeep idea. I will take a look at the nissan patrol, have seen some nissan navara pick ups and they dont seem so refined as the mitsubishi equivalent.
  3. suprising, read some good reviews and they look and feel sturdy and well refined.
  4. Is that the Grand Jeep Cherokee, or all of the above mate.
  5. All right peeps. Due to my ever expanding family looks like the lex will have to go soon. Gutted but needs must. Could live with the the space inside the car but the boot has let me down on countless occasions and with my third child on the way it just is'nt going to be practical anymore. I am looking for something bigger but i would also like to keep some of the luxury i have now gotten used to. I have 3 potential 4x4s in mind. Firstly the Jeep Grand Cherokee, very nice inside and out, Secondly the Mitsubishi Shogun Sport, again very nice inside and out and thirdly suprisingly i have taken a likeing to the Mitsubishi l200 pick up after checking out a couple today in black with the rear cab attached and leather trim. The l200 pickup has awesome space in the back and would take all the prams, bikes, shopping etc that you throw at it. Does anyone have any thoughts or advise on any of the three above or any thing else might consider. Also as i said the IS will have to go. Imaculate condition Sport with styling kit, registered Dec 1999 V. Black in colour, 58,000 miles. Full lexus history although the 60k is now due. 11 mths mot, 6mths tax, roof lip spoiler, front and rear light covers, gold badges, exhaust and wheel caps, Illuminated scuffs. See my garage for pics and full spec. The only flaw with the car is i cannot get reception on the radio, worked initially and then nothing but hiss, the cd works fine so it has'nt really bothered me. How much should i be looking for roughly.
  6. Never had a problem mate. Should cost around £10/£15 per wheel fitted and balanced.
  7. Pray you never need to take it to a bodyshop mate.
  8. Sure i am right in saying there is no such thing as a catagory 1 imobiliser. Only a complete alarm system can be rated cat 1. An individual imobilizer at its best is cat 2.
  9. Hi, The price of Kumho will come down again in about a week, the increase was forced on us by Kumho. How are you getting on with them for grip? ← For the amount and type of driving i do (sensible family man) i have had no problems yet, driving wet or dry. My main concern would obviously be saftey with 2 children 3rd on the way. I did not buy these tyres just because they were cheaper than other brands. They obviously reach european safety standards and are are good for speeds over 150 miles an hour which a standard IS couldnt reach even if you wanted it to. As i said initally for the amount of driving i do i could not justify paying double for a tyre which may sound slighty louder (although personally i have not noticed this) and it seems wear out quicker. Averaging 3/5 thousand miles a year they should still last me a couple of years, by which time the car will probaply been changed anyway. No regrets yet mate, If at any time something goes wrong with the handling the club will be the first to no
  10. ← Good man, i have used turtle wax colour magic on previous cars and had one bodyshop refuse to spray a panel on my car. He stood their swearing for about 5 minutes about how crap it was and a bodyshop nightmare, something to do with all the silicones it contains. This has been confirmed by many bodyshops since.
  11. Had my wheel centres exhaust tip and badges all plated around 8/9 mths ago. All like new.
  12. Agreed, me for one would certainly not be turned of by a white lexus, bmw, merc.
  13. Cant comment on milage yet, they will probably still last me a year or more the amount of driving i do.
  14. My Is is black but 90% of my previous cars have all been white. I think white and black are the best by colours by far.
  15. I think you will be suprised mate, bet it comes in at about £5 / £6 quid at main dealer. The full set is only about £30.
  16. mill-autos is the trader i got them off. I would put a link on this post but i dont no how to, sorry.
  17. Fitted them on mine about 3 weeks ago. Only cost me £53 each. Well happy, saved a fortune and no difference i can tell to the originals. I will say though i only drive the Lexus a couple of times a week and dont abuse it when i do, there may be others on the club who disagree. The guy i bought them off was on ebay and i can highly recommend him. He has another set for sale but i notice his prices have gone up by 4 quid per pair. £110 for two £220 for 4.
  18. cant find anything mate, dont suppose you have a direct link.
  19. Same here, took out original todays and fitted 250watt kenwood 7 x 10's fitt lovely just unsure best way to wire up, i dont want to alter existing system any more than necassary. The original speakers come with 4 wire, the replacements only take two. If i only use two do anyone no which of the 4 wires are the best to use and will it be ok. Cheers.
  20. Merry Xmas to all and a cracking New Year.
  21. All right guys. I no a lot have you are pretty handy on your cars and have changed/upgraded brakes etc so any advise on my problem would be much appreciated. When i took the car over to my local Asda Tuesday evening, i was driving along and you no when something doesnt feel quite right but you are not 100% sure whether your imagining it or not. i felt that the car was unusually sluggish and pulling slighty, after driving approx 1 mile smoke was visable from the front left side of the car with a nasty burning smell. I imediately pulled over and lifted the bonnet, all looked ok . When i examined the front passenger side wheel the alloy was black with brake dust and the disk was red hot, the strange thing was that i was still able to roll the car forward and back which threw my a bit as it looked as though the passenger side brake had locked on. I took the car to my local mechanic yesterday, who is a top bloke by the way and i trust 100% with my car. He told me that when he examined the brake the near side caliper has two pistons present which he said was uncommon and that one of them had seized. He said he had stripped said piston, cleaned, lubricated and returned the car once again working perfectly. He did say however if the same thing was to happen again, which he thought very unlikely, a new caliper would be needed. Just picked my misses and kids up from the town centre and i am again unsure if the piston is sticking. Definately not as bad, if at all. It could just be i am more aware and imagining it. My question is. At last you all say, has anyone else ever experienced this, if so what was the outcome and is their anything i can do to check myself if i am now imagining it or not. Also if the problem is still present, does anyone no how much a near side caliper for an IS200 sport will set me back, maybe one of you top blokes with upgraded brakes has one lying around you wouldnt mind selling for a couple of quid. Sorry for the long post and thanks in advance for any help you can give.
  22. Guys and girls, i am currently running cyberlink powerdvd on my computer which has locked it self to play only region 1 dvds. Does anyone no if it is possible to make the computer dvd multiregion like most standard dvds. My dvd rom is a pioneer. Any help appreciated.
  23. Mine is J20 KYL, two boys Kyle and Jay. Third on the way though and the other half is not to keen on calling it 20.
  24. Recently been quoted £630 for the 60k service, thats with out the belt change. Unless you have money to burn i would wait until it is due at 100k.
  25. Kumho tyres on ebay £53 a piece ZR rated. Just bought 4 myself, I no a lot of you will say they are cheap and not any good, but i only do approx 3000 miles a year. I have tested them wet/dry and at speed and i cannot tell any difference between them and the Dunlops they replaced, other than the Dunlops cost twice the price. I suppose it balls down to how you drive the car. I have two young children and my boy racer days are over, under normal driving conditions they are fine.
