  1. Does anyone no how much Lexus will charge me for a set of illuminated scuff plates . If i purchase a pair how much are a pair of IS sport standard front scuff plates so i have some idea how much i can sell mine for if i replace them. ;) Cheers guys.
  2. Nice one Col, dont no what you done but thanks.
  3. Hope this works fellas, if not and your interested, the pictures are in the gallery. Thanks for trying Aido. PIC1 PIC2 PIC3 PIC4
  4. Aido my friend, thanks for the help i have uploaded the pictures to the gallery no problem, i have even managed to get myself an avatar but not quite following you on the pasting part, never done it before and every time i right click the mouse the paste option is not highlighted. Can you run it by me again in idiot proof terms. Cheers mate.
  5. Had a mate some tome photos and he has sent them to my email. I no this has been disscused before but can someone tell me how to get the pictures from my email to this thread. Cheers.
  6. Pictures soon mate, trying to get my hands on a digital camera.
  7. I have been after a set of gold badges and wheel centres for quite a while now but have not been prepared to pay the silly prices that are asked so i thought i would share my good news with the lads. I came across a guy on ebay advertising this service in 24kt gold and emailed him originally for prices on just the badges, he emailed me straight back quoting £70. I was well impressed with this so returned the mail asking for a quote on all 4 wheel centres, i thought christmas had come early when he quoted me £15 for all 4. To be honest i thought £85 for the lot sounded to good to be true but decided to take the chance. Friday morning i posted out the badges and wheel centres special delivery, Tuesday morning 9.00am the postie was at my door with my new gold badges. They were fitted the same day to my Black IS and look fantastic. I cannot praise this guy enough, the work is superb, he kept me up to date on progress from the minute he recieved my badges and everthing was back with me in no time. The reason for this thread is i thought their would be some other members out their who would appreciate this service but i am not sure if i am allowed to post up any more info. I can pm anyone interested details or if someone at the top gives me the ok i will post contact details on this board. Cheers guys.
  8. If the other idiot is insured, then all well and good,it should'nt cost you a penny. If hes not then you'd probably be better of giving your insurance company a miss altogether. I am pretty sure a new bumper wont cost £500 smackers. If you posted a thread youd probably find someone has one sat in their garage after upgrading theirs.
  9. Fellas, i dont no all the facts so maybe i am talking out of turn, but i do think were being a bit harsh on LED DESIGNS, the guy comes across has being genuine and helpful enough. WYXSMAN i fully appreciate you feel ripped off but i really dont think this would have been done intentionally to upset you, are your pictures copyrighted. In all honesty if you check out Ebay you will find that that their is a lot of this picture stealing going on, i dont personally own a digital camera and in all honesty i am guilty of doing this myself on occasions and in turn it has been done to me. I realize this is your personal baby and i can understand why you are so upset, but come on guys bury the hatchet.
  10. Nice one guys. Went to lexus Cardiff today, £1.50 a bolt. Extremelly happy, as they were snapping one by one i had visions of having to take out a second mortgage. Its all looking good now though fellas. Thanks all.
  11. Thanks for the advise so far guys. Fluff my freind, can you define £££'s (little pounds or big pounds). Also mate have you any idea how to change them. Cheers guys.
  12. Unbelievable, just refitting my back wheel after painting the rear calipur and i have snapped another thread. Thats now one on the front and one on the rear. I just cant understand it, i have taken off plenty of wheels and refitted in my 13 years driving and this has never happened before to happen twice. Im really worried now about the other threads snapping. This cant be the norm. I am going to buy a torque wrench tomorrow does anyone no the correct torque the nuts should be set at. Thanks for the advise so far. P.S. Scorpion, dont forget my alarm mate. Thanks again guys, keep the info coming.
  13. Its the front wheel by the way. Come on guys help please.
  14. Forgot to ask this one. Has this happened to anyone else, any particular thing i may have done wrong while reffiting wheel. Only asking because this is new to me and i still have 3 calipurs left to paint. Thanks again.
  15. Help guys please. I took the wheel of my IS 200 the other day to paint my wheel calipur. Finished job replaced wheel, re-tightened nuts manually (no unnecessary pressure). 3 days later noticed i was missing a wheel nut. i thought initially it must have come loose, but no such luck the thread the nut screws down on has snapped off completely. I have removed the wheel again and the threads and centre bearing all seem to move independently of the main disc, so hopefully this will not be a major and expensive job to rectify. First question- i have been told that it is safe to drive the vehicle with 4 remaining wheel nuts, is this right. Secondly- can anyone explain in laymans terms how to take out the part which holds the 5 wheel threads and is it easy or best left to the pros. Last- is the part going to be very expensive and if so can i buy an aftermarket part or anyone got one tucked away in their garages for sale. I have two young boys so my first question on safety is obviously the most important untill i can sought out the problem. Any advise is greatly appreciated. Cheers guys.
  16. Happy Birthday buddy. Appreciate you taking time out on your big day to pm me that info. Just the job. Cheers mate.
  17. Meguairs, defo. Believe me when i say i have tried every well known brand available and was a hardcore autoglm fan until i took advise from a previous lexus forum recommending the stuff. One word AWESOME, especially on black. Check out their website. Only problem i have found is the car is left looking so good you wont want to take it out of the garage and get it dirty.
  18. I am thinking of fitting this kit, Can you give a bit more detail on what exactly the moddifications are, whats involved exactly and how its done. Your car looks spot on mate.
  19. Bought mine from altezzascott, arrived in a day and cost a bit less. Check out his website one of the best i have come across. Top bloke too. www.altezzasportsandprestige.com
  20. dont no if this is the same problem, but i have never able to use the normal forums with my gold account username and password so had to set up another account which no gold logo.
  21. Dont forget me, ready as soon as you can make it. otherwise i will come to you but it will probably be 2/3 months.
  22. Sorry to change the subject but does anyone no what alloys are on the black IS picture.
  23. I dont no exactly what it is called but their is definetly a double sided tape available especially for fitting no. plates. When i took delivery of my private reg with plates included there were 6 strips of ds tape supplied. 3 per plate. Like the guys say propably the same stuff they sell in halfords.
  24. Sorted your problem yet, if not you have two options. I no you have said their are no valves in your airing cupboard, the pipe you are looking to isolate is a 22mm copper pipe which connects up to the very bottom of the cylinder, the correct valve usually fitted on this pipe would be a gate vale, this is a valve with a red wheel head. If this valve is not present you need to tie up the ballvalve in the storage tank. If you have a conventional system you will have 2 tanks up in the attic, you need to tie up the ballvalve in the bigger tank. If you have a combined cylinder, this is a cylinder with a storage area at the bottom and a header tank incoperated into the top, tie up the ballvalve in the top of the cylinder. Now you need to isolate the main. This is normally around the front door, under the stairs or some where in the kitchen, worst case turn it off out in the street. the hot tap will run untill the storage tank is drained. As you have the storage tank drained and the cold water off i would advise fitting a gate valve to the pipe i first mentioned. any future proplems and the hot water can be turned off immedietaly. good luck. P.S. Open all hot taps or when you take your kitchen tap apart even when drained you will get spurts of water coming through which would have been previously airlocked. Good Luck.
