  1. Nice one mate, if your serious go for it. I will say though, now more than ever people are changing there jobs to plumbing and thinking after 6 mths training the money starts rolling in. This is not the case. When i done my apprentiship it was over 4 years and it it was 6 years before i was confident enough to start running jobs for the company i work for and doing my own private work. Plumbing is an excellent trade and you can earn great money, i would recommend it to anyone who is serious, but dont expect to it to happen overnight. Good luck mate.
  2. I would get it changed if i were you mate. From a buyers point of view wrong or right it would certainly put a niggling doubt in my mind.
  3. Nice one guys, is there a difference between the pioneer avic-x1r and an avic-x1. As a rule i mostly listen to r&b and as far as budget goes i am good for about 3k but obviously if i can get a quality install for less i would go that route, thats why i have put the question to you guys that no for some unbiased advise.
  4. All right fellas, I no there a few members who are pretty clued on there ICE, i think a couple of you even work directly in this field. My question is what would be a recommended motorised dvd player to change my stock, i am also after a roof mounted pull down TV, subs and amp to suit. Dont necessarily need sat nav but if the cost is not much different it would be a nice extra to have. Any direction to go on the above would be appreciated. Dont mind paying the price if recommended, but dont wont to spend hard earned cash and get it wrong. Sextons have suggested pioneer avic-x1r headunit at £1500, 2 no MTX 12" subs + digital amp at £700 found all these a lot cheaper on the internet but are they worth it or are there any better alternatives. Cheers guys.
  5. lovely pic mate - but I had to remove it. it was practically life size! :D ← no problem, i didnt expect it to come out that big myself.
  6. sold now, but this was mine with standard 17s.
  7. Ok fellas, i no i am no longer a Lexus owner so hope you dont mind me still popping in and adding the odd opinion. Against a few members recommendations i have just picked up my Grand Jeep Cherokee, 2001 in black. Must say at the minute i am very happy, sat up in the air, all the toys and from pics and what i have read a serious off roader. Seats the existing family with plenty of room for the soon to be new arrival and has a huge cargo space. The kids love it, so all good at the minute although i am missing the Lexus. Will never complain the IS is slow again after driving a 2 TON diesel 4x4. I was hoping the new owner of my IS would join the club so i could keep tracks on it. The Jeep club is CRAP. Nothing of interest and they want £30 quid before you can even add an opinion. I thinks i will not be visiting there much.
  8. I would say it is the quality of the plating mate. Mine were on for over a year and they are still like new.
  9. Definetly be back, as soon as my budget stretches to an RX300.
  10. Dont think anything is going to compare with the lexus guys. Got nothing yet but something bigger is needed. Its going to be a toss up between a Mitsubishi Sport, mitsubishi L200, Nissan Navara or Grand Jeep Cherokee. I no some of the guys on this club have advised against the Jeep, buts i do like them a lot.
  11. All right fellas, It is with great dissapointment that i say my pride and joy has gone . Sold today to a top guy from Chester called Shaun. I hyped up the club so hopefully he should be joining you soon. I would like to thank everyone who has helped me out with any questions/queries i have had over the last two years and even though i havent had the pleasure of meeting any off you personally. I think my judgement is correct when i say WHAT A TOP BUNCH OF GUYS/GALS and DEFO SUPERB CLUB. I have already took a look at other clubs and they just dont seem as freindly. Maybe its me. I will probaly pop in from time to time to hopefully see how my car is progressing under new ownership. Thanks again peeps.
  12. Agreed, i had a set on my black IS and decided to take them back off. Personal preference i suppose. You should be able to pick up a set for around £20 including postage. Be aware they do fit but not as easily as the originals, it takes a bit of messing around especially when trying to fit the bulbs. thats what i found anyway.
  13. Both available colours are very close, so i would make sure its the right one.
  14. Ok mate, the part will cost less than £50 at main dealer. Not sure to the penny but i changed mine when i took delivery of my car and it was defo under £50. I tried first to have it repaired by proffesional, waste of money, stay away, looks ok for about a week then starts to fade and stands out a mile. There are two colours so make sure you have your chassis no. with you when ordering.
  15. The install is correct mate, i thought the same thing when i had mine done, but after looking at styling kits on the forecourt they are exactly the same. My kit did have black beading for the skirts but grey for the rear bumper which i find strange but as i said is the same as others.
  16. I dont think they dazzle as much as HID's mate and they are totallly legal. By the way i haven,t got a problem with HID's either, just making the comparison.
  17. So far so good, really thought i would get slated on my view but it seems i am not alone.
  18. Before someone points out that my banner shows a picture of my car with the fog lights on. Note, i did say i think they enhance the look of some vehicles. The fog lights on my banner were on purely for picture purposes as were my main lights, as the picture was taken in the day.
  19. I dont do this personally, but if i am 100% honest i cant see the problem. I can say truthfully that i have never been blinded by a set of fog lights, the only time my vision has ever been effected is by oncoming HID lighting which is obviously going to become more popular. I dont see why this upsets so many people, i think personally it is a mind thing because you no the other person shouldnt have them on. Like i said i dont do this myself but i do think on some more upmarket cars IS200 included the fog lights do enhance the look of a nice car. I no i am now going to get slated for this reply so hopefully all you guys that do drive with your fog lights on will give me some support.
  20. You probably could find a builder who would be prepared to remove the asbestos but it should really be done by a qualified company. I am a plumber by trade but i have seen this done many times, Involves portable showers, full body protection, everything is baged up and disposed of propally. To be honest if it was me i would a few things into account and go from there. Firstly the colour of the asbestos, some asbestos if taken out with care really isnt that dangerous, it only becomes aproblem if it is broken up and all the fibres escape into the air. I believe white is the least dangerous and most common. Secondly the amount, if its only acouple of bag fulls i am sure a local builder would have no problems taking it down, just check he is disposing of it correctly. You dont want the local kiddies playing swords with it down the local fly tipping site. Being in the trade i would say the best and cheapest way to go about this would be to contact some local rubbish removal companies, always in the local papers to come around and remove the garage. This will save on your skips as they usually drive tip up lorries. Then get your builders in to quote when the site is clear.
  21. Gold badges are awesome mate, especially on darker cars. There is no comparison. In my opinion they totally transform the look of my IS making it stand out from the others.
  22. Possibly selling mine for 4x4. See my garage for spec.
  23. If the bank comes good, you can have mine for 9k mate. Late 99 V. Black Sport with full styling kit and black leather/suede. Full main dealer history, 58k 11 months mot, taxed. Immaculate condition inside and out, see my garage for all the little extras.
  24. Bloody hell thats unbelievable. I am 31, 8 yrs no claims, no convictions, points, accidents etc. Garaged always and less than 3k a year. I tried everyone and the cheapest i found was with egg with £380. You must live 100 miles away from anyone.
