  1. the wheel at the link is from a '94 but the spokes are completly different to mine, does anyone know if the wheel would fit though? photo http://ebay.eu/1QedMpJ
  2. It was not the car that had a vulnerability, a lorrys' wheel nuts caught it on a london gyratory system
  3. That was curtesy of a lorry on a giratory, these folks come into london and as soon as they get in the thick of it they don't cope well, - week-ends can be real dodgy, full of people come to shop in Oxford st or a westfield, along with hoards m/bikers, why they come i have no idea.
  4. Thanks, I thought that looking at it so i emailed them, dodgy buisness choosing a spare wheel... Its a 1991, thats not to early is it? .I find that car a bit confusing though, it states its manual, didnt know they ever made a manual 400, it also says '4200', maybe they dont know the cc & put that down instead....yep confusing as hell
  5. Well what year was the MK4? I dont know those sort of things, i have had it apx 4 years or so but had a 1996 or 7 before then Below is pasted from DVLA site Vehicle details Vehicle make LEXUS Date of first registration 30 August 1995 Year of manufacture 1995 Cylinder capacity (cc) 3969cc CO₂Emissions Not available Fuel type PETROL Vehicle status Tax not due Vehicle colour BLACK Vehicle type approval Not available Wheelplan 2 AXLE RIGID BODY
  6. Im lost again, my ls was registered in Aug 1995, its a 3969cc, the later models were a higher cc than that, the reg is N34PYO, thats a 95 reg is'nt it, must be, now were all confused It comes up at DVLA as a '95
  7. Does anyone know if a 1991 is to young? theres one advertised here http://www.dewsburyautosalvage.com/cars-for-breaking/lexus/lexus-ls400-4200-1991-black-manual-petrol-4-door.html
  8. theres also this, he is advertising it as 94 but i recognise it as a facelift which was much later, its spokes are nothing like mine, bottom link Advert for '94' I dont think its a 94, much later http://www.partshark.co.uk/used-car-parts-breaking-vehicles/lexus/ls/ My wheels
  9. I came across this '92 but the wheels are some kind of aftermarket set I have not seen before, so no good to me . http://ebay.eu/1NJztvV
  10. Wow it really is as complicated as though, but, with me knowing nawt technical a simple things is a huge wall....so i will go for one from a '95 or below, that simplifies things a lot
  11. Thanks mikeyv, not surprised theres so much confusion around about their size, Im able to get wheels but the ones offered so far they have the same confusion as me & no one was sure. So just to complete my understanding, if I get a wheel which fits the same tyre as mine then thats correct yes? as i said its a spare i need so if its not the right one it could be changed once i got to my tyre place anyway.
  12. Oh, well I looked and the last number is 16, before that is the letter R so I suppose that means 'rim' - the full tyre size is 225/66 R16 Thanks, its starting to make more sense now but the few with a spare wheel for sale as confused as I was. I take it that means I need a 16 inch wheel is that correct? thanks
  13. I measured my wheels and they measure '17 & a half inches' across the rims, is that what is meant when folks say "17" inch wheels, I got no clear answer in my other post & I need a spare wheel, so anyone know? thanks My previous post http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEXUS-LS400-AUTO-5-DOOR-SALOON-1989-1994-ALLOY-WHEEL-SINGLE-/141869530838?hash=item2108153ed6 .
  14. I know there's no solution really ! On a subjective level i would have it disconnected, after all it's not an 'alarm' anymore going off like that at random, its just a nuisance.
  15. I am in London, avoid any lpg conversions here - I went to proffes in wales, they did a 100% perfect job on a 100% perfect engine, which remains perfectct ever since (appx 3 or 4 years ago, their reputation is second to non. Of course if you think driveing a 300 mile round trip is not worth perfection then dont bother just get it done here, after all botch jobs are usually quicker.
  16. I see, yes less hp, but, i don't understand anything about mechanics so i assumed it was smaller Jim Pike wrote: "IIRC If I recall correctly" "AFAIAA As Far As I Am Aware" What i meant/mean is that I have no idea what those 2 sets of initials mean, could be a coded brothel address in newcaste for all i know
  17. OK, well mine is aug 1995 reg as thats the smaller engine does that mean it has smaller wheels and only before 1995 regs will fit?? What does "IIRC" & " AFAIAA" mean? thanks
  18. OK, the shody ones not replying, there are a few around but other years, so back to my original question, are all the standard LS400 wheels from 1990 onwards the same size? i dont mind if i have to get one with different trim to mine so long as it fits wheel and spare tyre I have. thanks
  19. Ahh, thanks, do you mean this one? http://www.preloved.co.uk/adverts/show/108557093/lexus-ls400-5-stud-16-wheel-tire.html
  20. Can anyone tell me if all wheels from the years leading up to 1995 were the same size and fitting? I have 1995 which needs a spare wheel & I have been told that as far fittings go between 1990 to the end of the LS 400 all normal lexus wheels would fit though the spokes patterns might be different. Can anyone confirm that is the case or would i be able to tell if, simply, the tyre sizes were the same as the 95 (aug), i dont mind if the spokes are different i just need a spare wheel. Thanks all
