  1. I was thinking of that goldtop, is there still probs with migrants & cars at french side tunnel?
  2. Yes the conversion is registered but when I last went through the tunnel (both ways) in 2003 they did not check when on the train but I cannot remember if they had the number at the point of the ticket purchase or not
  3. OK thanks, they dont even seem to let manufacturer fitted go under........err, how would they know.....i wonder
  4. Does anyone know if an LPG conversion is allowed to use the tunnel these days, I ask because when I had a conversion done some folks said that an LPG conversion was not allowed through the tunnel but a manufacturers LPG was. I just checked the fares etc & there was no mention I found that said anything of the sort, so, anyone know? thanks
  5. More pricey now than then..... http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/list/15/pallas/
  6. thatfatbloke.......Ordered a pair of bonnet struts for £53 from seller called 'mattt77777 If you funded the purchase with any direct debit card you can put a direct debit indemnity on it, money back in your account instantly. thatfatbloke....... Now in the hands of eBay/Paypal,but they can't do anything about refund 'til next Thursday!. Typical (normal) of ebay & paypal, however, its not in their hands, it's in yours if you used a debit card to fund paypal, Im not sure but I think a credit card can do the same thing,
  7. Thanks Shanra, what I meant is whereabouts in the engine compartment is the dipstick tube? thanks
  8. Can anyone photo appx where the oil filler cap is? what transmission oil do they take?
  9. Quote: '' the brakes noise did quieten down after a bit'' Thats the brake pads, certainly Ferodo make no noise, not sure about normal ferodo, there are not many aftermarket, if any, other than ferodo premium which are quite, so anyone here who buys it can sort that out easy enough.
  10. Quote, I'd sure buy it if i wanted a replacement .. just needs new carpets \ if I were in the market I would not touch it until it had a new MOT, the current one finishes next month, what does seller know that stopped him getting a new MOT and then putting it up for sale, no one should forget that numerous LS400 parts are quite expensive. I note it has 110.000miles, the last MOT (11 months ago it had 110,3003 miles
  11. Lovely looking ls, is t a japanese or US import? Im asking that cause of the grill, that toyota emblem on bonnet & have never sen that color before or is that you're own preference/ lovely color though.
  12. It all sounds great, it also leaves londons mechanics & related (lpg convertors) as the scum of the cars earth......Ive had one v good one I totally trust since around 1998, family buisness, but, he came after numerous years of iffffy whatnots here in london.
  13. I actually bought a '96 when it was appx 230k, it had no probs at all, but, as someone else said it had had all its services, the guy treated with care, im on 173k now but I dont even think about apart from due an oil change (appx every 5-7000k for me)
  14. I think it would be well worth a test run for a potential buyer, its at high wycombe so the M40 + local hilly roads would at least give an ''It seems ok'' or otherwise view of it, which is all any test drive can show, its the seeming regular oil change/services that would attract me to it.
  15. Sorry, but, I did/do not understand your post. Do you mean the second car was originaly up for sale for 700 and then that changed from a straight sale to an auction sale?
  16. This is one of the silly adds I have seen for a while, no mot (fail) & quite a bit needs spending just o bring it to mot pass & up for sale by a commercial dealer at that!......still its got a jack ***** badge fixed to its bonnet. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lexus-LS-400-4-0-auto-1998-PX-Swap-Anything-considered-/232172399901?hash=item360e8dad1d:g:SqUAAOSwxg5XztoC Compared to this one for 510 quid, well worth a test run if anyones in the market, IMO http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lexus-LS400-/262871421148?hash=item3d345b90dc:g:-7wAAOSwOgdYswCV
  17. would you think is still worth purchasing? 150k ? That mileage would not put me off, other things might if it only 50k on it.
  18. If I were in the market for an LS I would 'probably' go for this one, unless a highly unlikely something showed up on a test drive I'd take it, 3 owners, FSH & 157,000k. My 'probably' option is because I don't understand why it only has another 12 weeks MOT left instead of him/her getting a 12 month MOT to help any sale http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1998-LEXUS-LS-400-BLUE-MK1-FACELIFT-/222403396258?hash=item33c84682a2:g:Fo8AAOSw2xRYm4WL
  19. There is no photo of the driver's seat - very little information in the advert. Hes waffeling on about mileage inconsitencies in the MOT's, looks great (how unusual is that?), sounds like turn round & go the other way.
  20. How much are a set of 1998 16" wheels (no tyres) in good-to-VGC worth ? The spare looks unused to me, might even be the original tyre. To some/individual extent it depends on circumstances of buyer, in my case when I got this car (2011) there was a spare in the back but I never checked to see if it was a 16'' LS 400 spare, then I ended up with ripped tyre, new years day about 2012, went to change the wheel & lo & behold the 'spare' would not fit, it was for some other car or other, so, no spare & I have had a lot of difficulty until now getting one, so I guess price would be what any individual is prepared to pay, add to that, does the seller have a cheap courier (commercial sellers probably will) or does the buyer have to travel maybe hundreds of miles to get it from a private seller, a spare wheel in Kensington would much more valuable to me than the same wheel in Durham city or Oxford. Another factor I came across a few times & highlighted in cornershops' post is that some sellers only want to sell the set, but not individual wheels
  21. There's another one on for £35 should any one need it Do you have the link just in case someone wants one?
  22. Thats ridiculous. Ive got 4 behind my shed Yes but the thing is who, until now, knows that? The guy who sold one to me was advertising, if I knew you had one for sale (you have not said you have 'one' for sale) then for me as the buyer judgment would have been ease to get to & close in price. I have been looking for one for a long time until now, again, I was the 'demand' end of 'supply & demand' & as soon as I saw this one from that seller he had a punter, me. As it was he was visiting NW London the day I collected it so traveling was not bad (a factor) Belvedere where he seems to be based is awkward from me in W London. So I ask, if you have 4 redundant "16 wheels behind a shed which no one knows about why is it 'ridiculous' that someone else is selling 'one' at whatever price the sell it at?
  23. He's realized there is a market for them, his add now says £ 150, I'm glad Dendonc got there before inflation set in
