  1. Thanks. Might pick some up from my local Euro Car parts. I've got a soft spot for rainex on the windscreen, seems to do a great job.
  2. hi Rayaans, would you put the Sonax on a wax? I presume it can be layered?
  3. After giving it a very light wash today, and plans to polish, wax and seal this week, I simply love this car!
  4. Hi Malcolm is that also with the eco setting on? I also felt it accelerates very heavily when it conditions aren't deserving of it, but I changed to eco and it appears less stressed when accelerating up small hills or slopes whe trying ev even the slightest acceleration turns it off, to the point where it feels like it doesn't actually work other than in central London rush hour traffic
  5. Hi peter i did have a look but I'm also looking at some bodywork, paint correction and cambelt this year, I'm trying to balance the budgets in that respect. also, I'm almost the polar opposite of yourself in terms of capability!
  6. I've gone for these with the mintex pads will get some handbrake shoes also now off to YouTube to figure out how much help I'll need !
  7. I've been driving past there funnily enough over the past month on work trips, don't they have a Lamborghini dealer nearby also? I will be after a bumper protector, so will give them a try next week or possibly Saturday as I'm off down to Gloucester for some bits for the LS. ive not found a comfortable position yet to be honest but the wife loves it. I'm still favouring the ls400 but the rx is such a beautiful machine, and for me, makes driving a pleasure rather than a chore or an effort.
  8. I did wonder that... I've given them the benefit of the doubt to be honest. When the boot was opened there was an obvious amount of dirt/grime directly under the dent, everywhere else was pretty clean. They also mentioned it looked like it had been touched in, again I'd really have expected them to see it. my wife would never have noticed due to her height...
  9. I'm thinking of plumping for these, any opinions? I've picked up a set of black diamond for the front, hopefully a friend will give me a hand to fit, http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/BLUEPRINT-REAR-DISCS-AND-PADS-307mm-FOR-LEXUS-LS400-4-0-1995-00-OPT2-/111799925067?hash=item1a07cb794b%3Ag%3AnzwAAOSwYHxWIlnq&_trkparms=pageci%3Aa69ae0de-e8c8-11e6-aa00-005056bb7e3e%7Cparentrq%3Afba9a74f1590a6a8d6648f7effa46a59%7Ciid%3A6
  10. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lexus-LS400-New-York-Taxi-/302212206104?hash=item465d404e18:g:8ioAAOSwnHZYkdEg discuss? There was a winged variant some time back This one just seems cruel
  11. Took the car back today, within seconds they've seen it's an old dent and are fixing next week 10/10 for service at Lexus Stoke, also noticed one of the keys had a flat battery they swapped both! Had to buy the boot mat, but got my 10% discount. just waiting for some dry weather to wash and wax
  12. I wasn't too fussed to be honest it's a 4 year old car I'm just waiting to get the cleaning products on. However as it's been purchased on pcp I wanted to make sure we weren't accepting a perfect car from the off . Now I've just found a huge dent and paint missing from the rear roof area by the boot so I'm taking it back for them to have a look at tomorrow. I'll check on that, they've discounted the service plan so it's now at least a little more affordable
  13. Still looking at insurances and waiting on the dealer to respond with gold members discount on a service plan (and associated additional warranty). Bearing in mind its four years old I may just move onto the reduced cost servicing they offer next year. 2013 with the exterior styling pack, couple of marks on it, and a little dirty, but I was surprised at the level of service when we bought it (green tea and presentation box) any advice on a rubber boot protector (space saver wheel if that's relevant) greatly appreciated
  14. After spending the past four or five weeks parked outside due to intermittent and unexplained alarm issues; I reconnected the battery terminal this evening, started up the car (first time which made me smile), and took it out for a short burst, checking the tyre pressures at my local garage, and generally enjoying a waft. however when checking the rear light cluster, I noticed only one light on each side is lit, that being on the side clusters, am I going mad or shouldn't there be one on each side of the boot also?
  15. Hi chris who did the gyeon applications for you? I don't have any indoor area to apply any "stuff", looking online, and including wheels and paint correction, the costs look to be around £800, for a full clean and ultimately seal
  16. Hi all as an existing, and still smiling ls400 owner, my wife has looked at a used rx450h at a local main dealer, and would be buying on pcp. as part of the costings, they've priced up gen 3 coating, which from some brief research seems vastly over priced and possibly not the best product either, so we've ruled that out there is also a gap insurance, and Smart Cover (minor body damage) does anyone have experience of taking up these products (£499 each) or advice to taking alternatives? I'm sceptical of insurance at the best of times, but am also pretty sure someone will damage it in one way or another. many thanks mark
  17. I think the problem is catching mine has recently been going off once a day and sometimes twice then everything seems fine again its normally during the day and I suspect could be passing rumbling cars...
  18. Hi bob my Honda Accord did the same recently is there not a fuse solely for the alarm? i had the Aa remove the fuse by haven't yet tried it back in yet so my central locking is also not working Would be a shame to get rid of it if you could just disable the alarm.
  19. The ls430 must be good then ive not stopped smiling since I bought my ls400!!!!
  20. Quick Update After two companies letting me down with springs (neither had the stock they promised at point of payment!!!) I got some Kilen Springs from a local car shop on next day delivery. Impatient person that I am, I've swapped out the broken spring and put it back on the old strut/shock absorber. So far so good. Seats to go back in tomorrow.
