  1. Just to carry this thread on and not start another i noticed lots of salmon pink and white spots on the car when washing it (look like paint) which could be overspill from the roof repair but I thought I'd just clean them off, however on checking tyre pressures today one tyre has a lot of splits on the tyre wall, and another seemed to leak air when filling and took considerably longer to fill ill be going back to the dealer on Monday (again)
  2. Hi happy to do a deal I'd need to check postage cost actually it's going to be cost prohibitive
  3. Have a look on YouTube I think you can just remove it with a heat gun very slowly and with skill of course
  4. It's back on eBay again now doesnt mention non paying bidder maybe he just wanted more money
  5. Flash as above the leather is coated, a colleague (who puts John Prescott to shame with 4 jags) use flash and has some of the cleanest leather seats I've seen
  6. I was told at a dealers that they are there for guidance only, and won't pick up things that are too far above or below them; a few times I've wondered what they're doing as they're certainly not picking up road furniture. and yet due to the size of the car I'd say sensors are essential
  7. Hi last week they quoted, a 21 year old ls400, parked on a driveway (no garage) you can do it on their website ?
  8. Panel gaps look off although since seeing it this week I'm convinced mine are too now... possibly the colour doesn't need help
  9. If you're ever near wolstanton let me know you can have a look at mine, if nothing else to use as a benchmark
  10. Hi matt this trader has quite a few lexus cars, another user on here went to view an ls430 which I think might have been flood damaged although I'll stand corrected on that. my view is they're overpriced and often gloss over fundamental history you'd want, so I'm not sure what the premium is for?
  11. Went for less than originally requested on gumtree i didn't buy it in the end will check out the non runner in Macclesfield
  12. footman james will cover a 20 year old ls400, i was quoted £180
  13. 14 years of disappointment and counting... sadly that's one thing I don't have (garage)
  14. Is it yours? Its a real beauty. I can't help but think the prices will stop dropping on these very soon.
  15. I was thinking of using some of the panels and like you said selling the engine to someone who was looking for a donor Might just be pie in the sky it also takes me further away from a house in France...
  16. Hi malc i was in conversations last week with the owner, it was on gumtree and the price seemed reasonable at £1300 but i called him the next day to do the deal and he'd listed on eBay. i had something similar last year when I'd paid for the car and the guy still sold it to someone else (and gave me my money back i have a feeling it will go over £1500 and it's just a bit much to justify for spares, having said that I am currently the highest bidder The belt was changed nearly 10 years ago wasn't it?
  17. Hi There are a plethora of Silver LS400's around at the moment. Next month mine will be going in for some paintwork (rust removal), and wheel refurb (plus a set of SC430 wheels, if I can figure out the correct hubcentric spacers), which will give the car an different dimension (in my opinion). Once thats all been done, I'm planning on writing up my purchase, including expenses to date (I have the capability/space to do very little work myself) There is a 1995 N reg LS400 on the popular auction site (not used since August 2014 according to it's MOT history), needs some work, but could be a great spares car (Im either thinking strategically or am in a manic stage). The question is, what's it worth? a. If someone buys it to break b. If someone buys it to repair (alternator, battery, belts etc) Any thoughts/opinions?
  18. Thanks Shirish mines a Mark 3 is assumed from the listing they were the same but I'll double check
  19. Hi i bought these also last weekend it's take a week for the sample to be sent to me, will be measuring it later, I'm assuming it will be slightly off. I must not have read the advert correctly as I thought they have the sizing already. they don't feel like £85 worth to me, but they are better than the more generic mats for sure
  20. Azeem have you tried gently pushing the radio into the dashboard? Works on mine (I'm assuming something isn't quite fitting into place behind it dont press on the screen, just the black plastic area around it
  21. Is it not accessible directly under the wing mirror? if not I'll give it a miss and just go to waxing instead
  22. Hi does anyone know which builds I'd need to change the yellow lights situated on the bottom of the wing mirrors, to clean white?
  23. Powder coating won't give you a perfect finish. the caps would then Need to be matched to the powder coat also check the warranty periods, some are only 12 months, which feels very light
