Also worth noting, their place of choice HAS to be registered as a camera position, they can’t just set up at any point, as they are “safety cameras” and not “speed cameras” they can’t be seen to be entrapping the public, the locations they can set up at are on the Webbsite for all to see
Just checked and it's on their web page as a proper location. Also read that it can be down to the camera operators discretion regarding the speed so who knows.
Anyways like I said earlier it could have been alot worse. 12 days left to go for the Nip.

This is the problem, I can't remember the last time I seen any speed enforcement in 30 zones. Most of the roads up here are winding country roads with multiple tractors elderly driving slow with their nose glued to the windscreen and just some bad drivers. There are few places to safely overtake and where the safe places are ie big open straights they build a special layby and plonk these camera vans on them.
The A90 Dundee to stonehaven dual carriageway has average cameras now because six people have died since 2014. The fact that there are very few flyovers a tractor/ truck and trailer can still pull out in front of you , sit in the central reservation with a trailer blocking both lanes while making sure it's clear to go from the other carriageway is completely ignored.
Literally drives me nuts.

@mike mMike I've had another idea you could always reduce the performance capability of the mighty Yaris and therefore you wouldn't succumb to temptation..................
Bug Rat
But it's a T sport with 103hp it's a beast
Maybe and engine swap to a 1.0 litre. Nah who am I kidding I got caught speeding in the bug when it was original with 44 hp lol

Thanks for the advice guys. I'd been thinking about a snooper. Using the camera locations and keeping it updated would help alot.

@emjay82 I was thinking of getting a radar detector for some advance warning.
We have the A9 and A90 with average cameras along most of the road where the cruise control comes in handy.
-
@Big Rat Hope so matey. Could have been alot worse as I tend to let the isf rip while overtaking to make sure the maneuver is completed as quickly and safely as possible

Might be old news to folks but these camera vans are working in the dark now and will definitely see you before you see them.
One might have nabbed me last night in the yaris. He was sitting at the end of a long straight in a 60 zone and I overtook someone doing 40 getting the mighty yaris up to probably around 65 to pass the car. Waiting on the nip now
Be careful out there as a simple safe overtake might get you in bother especially the rate the isf can get upto speed.

@mike m You shall be known hence forth as ‘Rattle Snagger’ 😂
I can see a steady stream of ‘F’s winding there way to you for noise rectification treatment!
Big Rat
Lol they better bring a bag of clips just in case.
Hopefully it will help some poor tortured soul in the future who doesn't like turning up the stereo to hide the rattles

@Farqui they are a pain especially the one on the right hand dash panel that's pinged off twice now into oblivion. Those rattles have annoyed me since the test drive lol even then Lexus didn't manage to shut them up at the time.

Try this https://lexus.7zap.com/en/eu/ Courtesy of one of the members here. I find it very useful.
Rattles can be a pain and can really ruin the whole ownership experience. Good luck!
Cheers for that very useful indeed.

Meanwhile the passenger side was rattling so I pulled the vent and again found a couple of cable conduits. Same thing again amalgamating tape and fabric tape on top and seems to be fixed.
Wasn't happy to find missing metal clips from the passenger footwell trim right under the dash. It fell down when I pulled the end cover off the dash. Just needs the metal clips which should be easy enough but sometimes trying to explain to the parts guy exactly what and where it is can be hard work. Not a job for over the phone lol

So that didn't work. Had a drive with the vent out and the rattle was still there. Pin pointed it to these two cable conduits and wedging my fingers between them stopped the noise. Ended up wedging them apart with some self amalgamating tape and some fabric tape around that.
Seems to have done the trick.

@Big Rat I could have been doing with the one on the left for the sill trim lol it was tight.
I've not got any fancy tools for the trim just fingers and a pain threshold.

Decided to pull bits of the car apart today to see what rattles so much from my side air vents.
So after removing a few panels the vent pops out the dash with abit of force (watch out for the vent light cable). Under the vent is a plastic linkage that opens / closes the vent and I'm sure this it the rattling culprit because the rattles improved with the vents closed. Anyways I've smothered the linkage in thick grease so hopefully that's it.
I'll take the car out tomorrow and update. Then see what's involved with the passenger side.

@mike m Had one irritating creak, passenger side of centre console foam fixed that 👍
🐀
Mine does this as well when cold. Japanese plastic eh? Worth more than gold but can't half rattle lol
-
@Big Rat Cool looks easy enough. So far the only rattles on mine are the left and right air vents , doing my head in so i'm gonna see if i can remove them and have a look.

We should have a Scotland meet one day, there must be half a dozen of us!
I'd be up for that.

Hi mate, I believe the wheel spokes are like propeller blades pulling hot air out the wheels from the brakes. The thin edge of the spokes should be facing into the normal direction of rotation.
Cheers
Mike
Bit more info here as well.

hmmm they havent changed then. Just a nice car to look at while waiting on the recovery. Nice to see Audi getting slagged. I really really absolutely hate Audi especially the tdi i'm better than you mob that sit glued to everybody's back bumper before going for some ludicrous death defying overtake. Aberdeen is full of them.
Rant over lol

If it's of interest I have the RR Racing carbon quad tip Magnaflow upgrade for Borla full system shipped from US with zero drone, and the K&N typhoon kit (Demon Tweeks). Excellent combo in my opinion however, still to dyno to see results. Not much louder than stock until you give it some beans... then it sounds insane. Low RPM sound effects from the K&N are enough to make a grown man smirk.
Just try and get the exhaust shipped as a gift or warranty item so FedEx don't fleece you with Duty & VAT ....
I think I'm sold on the K&N already but the exhaust sounds interesting
If you're anywhere near Blairgowrie sometime I'd love to hear it.
Let’s see your Fs gleaming
