  1. Any updates on this from anyone. I've still heard nothing :(
  2. Almost certainly was in a world of his own and didn't see me. ISF was black 2013 I think. Very nice looking car :)
  3. Took the ISF to work today (as the daily drive is sick). On the way home I spotted........... ANOTHER ISF!!!! I pulled up alongside, beeped the horn.............but nothing :( Probably never happen again :(
  4. Hi Jon. I get what you are saying re getting spirited on public roads. In my case, the issue only arrives when I am overtaking, so I'm not necessarily lighting up the roads :)
  5. I didn't know about 'holding the up shift paddle'. I'll try that. It might sound like I am being picky, but I've been caught out in the following scenario - 1. Car in Drive mode 2. I change gear using paddles - habit 3. A few minutes later, go for an overtake, and expect an automatic up-change, but it doesn't happen Anyone else get caught out by this, or am I driving the ISF in a weird and unique way :) I suspect I'm going to have to stick to driving it in manual mode. Many thanks. Dav
  6. 3 months of ISF ownership, and still find myself experimenting with the gearbox modes. Until yesterday, I settled for manual shifting and Sport mode (mainly for throttle response). So yesterday, I had the desire for good throttle response and smooth up-changes. With my limited understanding, I went for Auto (drive mode) and Sport. I was surprised that I didn't get an auto upshift. I'm guessing this happened as I'd manually made a down-shift using the paddles a few mins previously. So, am I right in thinking that no matter what mode I am in, once I've made a change using the paddles I am in effect telling the car I want responsibility for making the up-shift? Is this what the following text (lifted from the manual) is saying? The AI-SHIFT automatically operates when the shift lever is in the D position. However, operating the “-” paddle shift switch will restrict the function’s operation. (Shifting the shift lever to the M position cancels the function.)
  7. Having spoken with my dealer, I was told that Lexus are almost ready with a fix. I guess wait and see.
  8. Sunny today! ;) Also worries me that Lexus can continue selling second hand vehicles knowing there is a potential fault. How does that work?
  9. Not heard anything, and car was at Lexus yesterday. Are all ISFs effected by this, or just certain aged cars?
  10. Thanks for all the info guys. What's the score with non oem brake parts and the Lexus warranty?
  11. Great stuff. I'll check that out. Anyone know what the score is warranty and fitting non oem pads?
  12. Nice one Gib. Where'd you order them from?
  13. Just got a quote from Lexus - Front Brake Pads is £511.34 inc VAT and for Rear Brake Pads is £331.94 inc VAT. :(
  14. Morning all. So, I think I'll be needing some new pads in the near future. I'll certainly get Lexus to quote for the work, but will consider other more frugal options. There seems to be a wealth of info from our friends over the pond, but I was wondering if it would be a good idea for a sticky thread to list what options you guys have gone for e.g. Type of pads, Link to pads, Cost of including fitting Apologies if a similar post exists :)
  15. I'm South West, so bit far for me :( If it was more Birmingham way I'd be in. Anyway, I look forward to seeing the pictures :)
  16. Is it possible to track how many are for sale and the average price? Be nice to have some idea of trend
  17. Not sure if you are interested, but as a bit of heads up on my search process for an ISF, I looked at 1. Autotrader 2. Pistonhead. From the website, I selected IS with an engine size greater than 4 litres. It never occurred to me to use EBay. Hope that helps.
  18. I know, you can't really be pigeon holed, but I thought it would be interesting to know a little about other ISF drivers. So, here goes. Age: 45 Occupation: IT / Photographer What about you?
  19. Good thinking. I'll pretty sure the aircon was off this morning, but I will check this evening (as I have some motorway driving to do).
  20. Did a little bit of motorway driving this morning. No wind whatsoever, so that eliminates crosswinds from the equation. I'd go as far as saying the steering is almost 'notchy'. Lexus are having the car back in to have an aircon gas leak fixed soon, so I'll get them to have a look at the steering as well. A bit disappointed to be having issues only a month in to ownership :(
  21. Yeh, I see your point. As the car is under warranty, I've informed the garage. At the end of the day, they are the experts, so hopefully they can shed some light on it. Thanks all for the responses :)
  22. Lexus had it for the day as it has a gas leak from the air con - but nowt else
