  1. You could even use the seats - they are exactly the same.........
  2. Firstly, I'm probably the least technical person on this forum - by a mile, so all my views are based on my experiences during ownership and those of many other F drivers (who I meet on a regular basis). With regards to the radiator, all I can say is that one member had his replaced - can't recall why, but Lexus Japan didn't even have any in stock. It had to be made!!! I'd be careful assuming that parts for the IS-F are easily swappable with IS parts. As an example, my IS-F had a leak from the air conditioning system. Replacement pipe was IS-F specific. Time to fix, several months as the part had to be ordered from Japan. Who'd have thought the pipework wasn't just off an IS (or other Lexus)!! In summary, unlike the world of BMW, Mercedes, Audi, etc, there simply isn't an abundance of independent garages with knowledge of the IS-F, so when things go wrong, most of us will have to resort back to using the main dealers. This will never be cheap. Of course there are those talented individuals that will engineer fixes, make their own radiators in their back shed, rob pipework from the washing machine to fix the air con etc etc, but whichever way you look at it, this is a pain.
  3. I think that’s an optimistic view. As an experiment Ask Lexus to quote you for a replacement radiator.
  4. As we’ve discussed before mate, I think the IS-F could become a very expensive beast to run. How long will this take, who knows. Let’s face it they are still going VERY strong! 😀
  5. Some truly amazingly low ownership costs there. We need somebody to collate all this information into a spreadsheet. Hmmmmm, who like that sort of thing....ummmmm....... Ratty ( @Big Rat)
  6. 😜 RCF loves dry sunny days. The Volvo (my true love ❤️♥️❤️♥️) loves SNOW!!
  7. The rack was a pain. Lexus Bristol just wouldn’t recognise there was an issue. Took over 5 trips to the dealer. Then there was the clicking seat - to replace Lexus quoted £3500. Lexus warranty REFUSED to help 😮 I’d say that a large number of the miles I put on the car in the 18 months I had it were down to trips to and from the dealers 😢 Dont get me wrong, in comparison to other performance cars, the reliability was amazing 😀 She is now a tip top car and whoever gets her (in my eyes) will be buying one of the best Fs out there. Shame nobody on here has shown any interest 😢
  8. My garage Queen will NOT be seeing snow!!!!
  9. Good to see that. I'm hoping my second Lexus proves to be better than my first
  10. Omg, it looks like it swallowed a Cessna 150 and spat the remains out the exhaust!!!!
  11. Wrap something I wasn't keen on, yes. Wrap and make it look like it was smeared in mustard, no!
  12. I’m sure somebody said that you can even pay monthly - but I could be wrong
  13. Yes Shahpor is correct - only 47k on the clock. Seat was (still is) immaculate. Lexus warranty argued that seats fail from wear and tear. This view was confirmed by several dealers, one I will quote having said “Yes, Lexus warranty are funny about paying out for seats”. I had to make two claims to Lexus warranty. One claim very successful, the other proved how hard nose warranty companies can be. I presume that the first claim for a new steering rack was immediately sorted as there is a dangerous design fault with the ISF steering rack, Lexus were happy to pay out. A click seat - different matter.
  14. Multiple spelling mistakes in that post. G S F
  15. He doesn't talk to me anymore. Buggered off abroad!
  16. I had to rob a replacement out of my mate's IS-F when he wasn't looking :)
  17. Yes, not a great sign. I would like to think most of us are on top of tyre wear on a 400+ bhp car. Only excuse I guess would be the the IS-F is a devil for wearing the inside edges on the front tyres.
  18. Agree. Don't talk to me about seats however. It is well known that Lexus warranty won't pay out for seat issues.
  19. Yes, fair point. Interestingly, how many Lexus main dealers have had experience working on an IS-F engine or gearbox?
  20. You just don't know if a car is going to wrong. I've seen several IS-Fs that have had a hard life. Mine on the other hand had perfect service history and not a mark on it. I was still unlucky. £900 for two years warranty is a no brainer on any car. I've slapped 3 years warranty on my RC-F and it only has 4,500 miles on the clock!
