  1. Fair point Ratty { @Big Rat), but on the BMW's side, at least there are plenty of spares and loads of indies to do the work. How many garages would want to work on an IS-F engine or gearbox.....?
  2. That's performance cars for you. Don't get me wrong, on a reliability basis I'd pick an IS-F over any of its competitors. However, anyone thinking of getting into ownership has to remember that the IS-F (like many cars) was a very expensive car to buy from new, so if something does go wrong........
  3. 18 months of ownership cost me £75 in repairs outside of warranty, If I hadn't had a warranty that would would have been £3575! Yep, to run one out of warranty, you are either - 1.Loaded 2. Very confident from a technical perspective 3. Have a s strong sense of faith 4. Mad
  4. Snowing outside, sat in front of the fire, I'm reading some other threads about IS-F ownership. I thought it might be helpful to post a list detailing what it really costs to run an IS-F. So, excluding brakes, tyres and fuel, feel free to share your costs in the following format - Length of ownership: Approx 18 months Repairs outside of warranty: New drivers seat due to clicking - £75 (second hand) Repairs covered by warranty: New steering rack - £3500 Total cost - £3575 Total cost to me - £75
  5. Sounds to me that you are teetering on purchase. Dangerous place to be 😀 You live once and you seem to had an obvious interest in F’s for a while
  6. Good thinking! I’ll just nip out to the garage and turn up her heated cover 😜
  7. I’ll start it off. My F doesn’t like rain and snow and has (wisely) decided to hide.
  8. I’ll also add that silver looks so much better in the flesh.
  9. I’ve had the utter pleasure of driving in convoys of ISFs. I’ve spent hours looking at all of the available colours (apart from the strange pinky red). The one colour that looks most aggressive in the rear view mirror, without a shadow of a doubt is silver. The wheel arches stand out and the whole car looks meaty. DON’T UNDERESTIMATE SILVER 😀
  10. Agree on the chav up bits. That would need to be returned to original. Having said that, looks good - providing it all checks out.
  11. What a sin. A recent poll on here illustrated just how incredibly popular silver is.
  12. I've had more than a few Beamers in the past. Never went as far as M car however, so reliability in all fairness was very good. Trouble is that all the modern beamers look the same. I'd even go as far as saying that the new M5 looks really boring :(
  13. Pretty car the XK! Impressing me with your V8 history will not sway to bending the rules for you. Santa can only fit one Lexus on the back of his sleigh!
  14. White or blue. Carbon orange would be in third place. At the end of the day colour is so subjective.
  15. RCF only works in two colours and grey isn’t one IMvHO
  16. Please tell me the GS-F has a full sized spare as standard!!!!
