  1. They happily agreed to use genuine brand new in the box Range Rover parts too BUT they’re possibly somewhere in Houtl Hezbollah container ship land and might not be “ here “ for some indeterminate MONTHS sadly Malc
  2. The Question of our Trust in the Professional advising us eh ! ……… Do we, don’t we …….. sad these days when you want to Trust but think you’re really being “ ripped off “ with unnecessary costs Malc
  3. Canterbury Lexus I always associated with the Toyota Main Dealer, as it’s ( or was, lots of redevelopment build going on right now ) just a few hundred yards along that same road …… with the usual upmarket Lexus style coffee etc available whilst waiting in the showroom / Spares Dept all in there too 🤔 And buying Spares bits for my Lexii over the years Malc
  4. DeWalt is a little beyond me these days 🤔 I always worry when it hits that light …… rarely happens BUT I know what’s left of the 85.1 ltr tank capacity to KNOW there’s about 100 miles left ……. the 91 Ls400 now on that yellow light and 99,978 miles ……, soon be champagne time 😂 E5 Tesco Momentum usually these days …… we always get screwed on the petrol price wherever we get it 😰 Malc
  5. Wheel alignment / tracking is often influenced by the state of the roads you’re driving on and that impact on your tyres, steering set-up whatever ……. and at the tiny mileage covered you might not even see undue tyre wear either …. Yet …. Might be the service guys are recommending as they’re just touting for business whatever It used to be that if there was nowt wrong then the checking wasn’t charged for …… you’d get a printout showing green and red indicators and green at the final printout when all adjusted …….. Often the rear adjustments are just a little unnecessary ( over the top ) as that won’t affect your steering …….. On this basis you might want to have it checked out at an independent tyre place that does tracking etc AND not charge if there’s nowt to be adjusted ! You’ll see by the printouts I’ve mentioned The air con re-charge …… seems OTT to my mind too 🤔 Good luck ! Malc
  6. Remembering about 30 years ago driving thru parts of the old East Germany ( 2nd ex-wife’s family lived there ) and lots of missing huge cobbles from the age old built cobbled city and town streets …… a bit of a shock if you hit a “ hole “ for sure Malc
  7. So then. SUMMARY Q ….. is there a simple method to visibly check the cambelt condition ? Thank you Malc
  8. El Cid …….. passing by too maybe 🤣 Malc
  9. Hahaha I’ve had a Mk2 too in times past If it’s sold then they used to say the engine etc was worth a few grand …… nope I’m settled now when I bought this Mk1 having been totally turned off by the impracticality of the Sc430 when someone outta the blue parked up outside and gave me an in depth appraisal of his new to him Sc430 …….. I think I told you all at that time 🤔 No space to store my sandwiches even for a picnic 😄 Malc
  10. Aha, the onset of the “ empty” light seems to give me a further range of 100 miles or so Malc
  11. Stuart hi, How’s this working out now ? You're bespoke limo standing up to all the pressure 😄 Malc
  12. Steve, you saw the Costas but missed “ simply the best “ by steering clear of the beautiful built super high quality city of Salamanca …… it really is truly breathtaking in the very best of “ build quality “ once one’s walking inside the city itself Don’t miss it the next time you chase thru Espana 🤔 Malc
  13. Well done. Lots of miles and smiles to come 👍 Malc
  14. My nephews Range Rover new bumper whatever, slight damage really, the insurers agreed for the repairer to use 2nd hand from a Breaker / TheBay rather than wait forever, indeterminate months, for brand new ……. he just wanted his car back on the road ok and useable …… just a month out of action rather than forever …..,, practicalities eh ! Malc
  15. I think the “ cause for concern “ element refers to mechanical damage …… yes, any preventative maintenance decreasing risk of breakdown especially in busy traffic is good …… punctures happen too, serpentine belt goes, alternators too …… shame the cambelt condition can’t be checked in situ ……. BUT can it ? Does anyone know how to check this ? Thanks Malc
  16. I’m well up to date on my 95 Mk3 car but the recently bought 91 J reg, now approaching 100k miles, I can’t see from the inherited docs that it’s ever had the change 🤔 At this era Ls400 it’s the non-interference engine and I’m taking some little comfort from that and won’t expect anything to go “ bang “ with catastrophic outcomes Lets see how my budgeting pans out to address this Malc
  17. Funerial attire at any age maybe ……. never want to wear one again but suspect I shall sadly Malc
  18. Out of interest ……. what’s the mileage / time years, since the last cambelt etc change on your cars ? I was reading long back that the “ break / bust “ time for a Ls400 cambelt might be 150k miles …….. 10 years / 100k miles in my book but others might have different thoughts and experiences Thanks Malc
  19. I’d confuse myself …… at least with the inbuilt obsolescence of the redundant satnav screen ……. outmoded and outdated and me trying to get it to work better than my iPhone maps stuff which is always uptodate and spot on …… probably 🤔 nope, I think I’ll pass on the opportunity Thanks all the same 😂 Malc
  20. Excellent. Well done 👍 Malc
  21. 🙃 Autoafraider has a Mk4 at £1750 with 111k miles ...... who'd have thought it eh ! Maybe i should complete the hattrick and get myself a doer-upper Mk4 now 🤣 Malc
  22. I’m thinking I’ve been reading past times here that there may actually be THREE potential options 🤔 and of course only one will do so continue to take great care ! Malc
  23. Is this for a pre MOT inspection or the MOT ? good luck whatever Malc
  24. I would simply emphasise that the Amayama parts I ordered and had fitted by my Indy are actually proper Toyota Lexus genuine parts Malc
