Just fitted my EBC redstuff pads at the weekend and am pleased to report initial bite being improved. Only done 50 miles or so however so could just be the coating….. took about 1hr to do in total. My car is 5yr old, 30,000 miles and found everything came apart easily, gave the fittings a wire brush and grease before refitting and it all went back together, good as new. I can imagine once the pads have been done a few times there may be a requirement for new pins etc however as they do need a tap with a punch to come apart and as the clearance is tight, any deformation could cause problems. The wear indicators were also a doodle and I wouldn’t expect that they will need replacing any time soon unless the pad thickness gets too low, in which case they are damaged. Would guess that this would occur once you get to something like 3mm of pad left. Would highly recommend Redstuff pads to anyone on the fence.

Having owned an FK8 Civic Type R, they are completely different. Civic is better dynamically and much cheaper to run but doesn’t sound as good and quality/interior are not comparable….

I think the postcode makes all the difference, I live in a TD postcode and my RCF daily costs £450 a year to insure…. It’s all relative however, average income in this area of the world is far lower than cities so can imagine it’s horses for courses when it all comes out in the wash….

Interestingly, doesn’t seem to integrate some of the design cues used in previous F-cars such as the quad exhaust and front wing vents. Wonder what this could be badged as, and how it’s actually expected to sell by Lexus….

I hope they don’t go like that any time soon, LC500 convertible is one of a few cars I’m considering next! Need to price to drop a little bit yet…

Not got a particular issue with the interior styling/quality, the infotainment will be terrible however. Got a real soft spot for Honda however and would certainly own an NSX over an R8/Huracan or similar!

Yea, though haven’t driven one so can’t comment on the engine. Sure it will still feel special…having had the FK8 Type R the other thing that puts me off are certain aspects of the interior such as the infotainment. I’d argue it’s not much better than the Lexus! Not sure if the early NSX came with CarPlay but if it didn’t it would be a must!

I too have looked at the NSX, nice cars and I think they will do well in years to come. Really rare too compared to their competition.

The AVS leads on the top of the dampers are really fiddly and a proprietary clip design that I ended up having to use a really narrow flat head screwdriver to split. The individual wires are quite delicate and the ride becomes terrible if they aren’t reconnected correctly. Combined with the fact the car doesn’t throw any error codes can make it a pain! I don’t mind the carbon bonnet look on other cars, just think it doesn’t suit the pre-facelift RCF in particular. Perhaps something to do with headlight design and front end styling. Id perhaps consider air ride if it softens the ride further but remember it being really pricy and required modifications….

Sounds naughty, and a tad painful! Guaranteed to get a few burns doing that, irrespective of what hole you go for! I’ve got 4 of them…. Could make it a party!!

It does look like the maxton kit and have been considering it for a while. Keep putting it off as the car starts to look very ‘modified’ once you install it and quite like the OEM+ look I’ve got at the moment. I must admit, I struggle with the carbon bonnet on all the pre-facelift cars, irrespective of colour. Strangely enough however, facelift cars seem to suit it much better…. Can’t explain it!! I’m actually considering a really bright sliver for the wheels also, freshen it up from the factory gunmetal and polished look. Black just looks a bit more angry/speedy/racy/ricer which the boy racer in me still loves!! Guilty pleasure I suppose.

I vaguely remember this (or a similar car) being sold in Ireland a few years ago. I also saw an orange carbon for sale on Cazoo at the time I was looking for mine too. Both early cars as it would happen. I'm a little conflicted by the carbon cars, really like a lot of the styling cues but struggle with the carbon bonnet. I like almost everything about the above car but would swap the bonnet for orange and perhaps remove the front wing inserts.... Interestingly, also has the same wheels as my car and have started to notice a bit of lacquer flaking so was considering painting them black...think I might give it a go in the spring now I've seen them!

Yea, ended up fitting them myself, wasnt a bad job as long as you have a set of spring compressors and an offset 17mm (I think) ring spanner for the top nut. Would budget around 4hrs for all 4 corners...

It’s worth trying the swift springs on an AVS car before going down the coilover route. Lowering the car doesn’t seem to have had any negative effects on the ride….

Mine is lowered with wheel spacers and completely transforms the stance of the car, certainly makes it appear lower/wider.

I’m not sure how many active members there on here with an orange RC-F. Think there are around 10 in total sold. Wasn’t me, wrong country!

I didn’t know you could switch it off. Certainly not aware of it on the RCF….. I too would like to know how to switch it off. Now I think about it, is it a ‘redline’ beep or an audible shift alarm???

I can imagine everything will become low displacement petrol turbo hybrids in the future…. Never driven a Continental but they have certainly grown on me. I’d consider owning one if I wasn’t terrified of it breaking down. Particularly like the facelifts and newer shaped ones…. How has reliability been??

I really like the IS500 but the quad exhaust doesn’t sit right with me….feels like that’s something that should have been kept for F-cars. Petty, I know…..

Made me laugh that he crashed into a Toyota Prius of all cars! Is a bit of a wedge which explains the 2 wheels. No way you’re going to do that without noticing…..

I’ve been using Tesco Momentum exclusively in the RCF for at least 6 months and reports around 10% increase in fuel economy. I’m saving money ‘per mile’ by using it against standard E10. Car seems to run better on any E5 vs any E10 and I’ve got £30 extra in my bank per month that I otherwise wouldn’t…. No negatives for me and for what it’s worth, didn’t find any further benefits by using Vpower so don't.

Did you end up getting the tracking checked? I can imagine the fronts might wear on the inside even with Lexus figures. RCF certainly does, easy way for manufacturers to dial in a bit of ‘improved handling’ by fiddling with camber etc.

I had a look at the yellow one at Newcastle and I actually really liked the colour. Even on a dull day it looked brilliant, I’d certainly own it! As with any purchase like this, need to make your own opinion on it however! Not sure I’m the best judge mind you as my car is orange!

Interestingly my 2018 RCF didn’t get the same upgrade…..
