Looks good, must say the facelift front end is an improvement and wish they did the RCF with a Tan interior! Looks really good, orange callipers too! Got a favourite gadget so far? We must all have them……. Rear wing switch for me (though I’m mentally 7!)

I travel down the A1 from the north so assuming traffic isn’t too bad then it’s going to be about the same distance as along the A19. I’m looking forward to it now, wife will be pleased with locality to the metro centre!

Good choice, my car is lowered and if I had a splitter too then it would 100% be getting damaged.

Mesa red is a fabulous colour, though I’m a tad biased. I wouldn’t necessarily be put off by an import either, rather judge each car individually as there will be rough UK cars out there too

Think Lexus only ever went as big as 19” on the RC and at that size tyres are 35 profile (I think). I run spacers to adjust offset and can get intermittent arch rubbing if I hit a bump a bit hard. With the right ride height 19” looks fine!

Got a text message from Lexus this morning claiming they were Newcastle were relocating on the 1st June, anyone heard about this?

I’ve a 2018 car with the updated MM and Lexus said that I’m not eligible for CarPlay. Got a £300 unit and fitted it myself, absolutely fine.

I’ve had a few sealed for life batteries that have a cover that when popped off give access to battery cells for topping up. Kind of besides the point mind you, would expect DHL to do better.

I certainly think they use their discretion with the waiver, at my recent recall visit they said they weren’t going to charge me for use of the hire car. Didn’t even get the option to pay it.

That fuel economy really is rough, I’m getting 21-23mpg average in the RCF. I really struggle to understand how it’s that bad, physics shouldn’t allow it! Is the engine used in other cars?

How orange was it? The press photos look a burnt orange, quite different to Solar flare. Jury is out for me, though as with most brave colours I bet it looks awesome in the flesh!

I must admit my favourite sounding cars are all V10s. Carrera GT, LFA and R8 V10. Unfortunately I think they will continue to be unattainable for me throughout my life and can’t imagine we will see many more N/A V10s at this point….

I was at Newcastle last week hoping to have a drive of that car!! Now I know why it wasn’t there…..

Spend a little time this weekend playing with the induction set up and am going to trial an open filter configuration as shown in the picture. It’s going to be the most free flowing and highest induction roar, though most susceptible to heat soak. I’m going to see how I get on over next week or two and report back. Initial thoughts are it sounds good and seems to pull harder at the top end, with no noticeable reduction throughout the Rev range, hard to tell though as I love the sound!

I’m going to have a play with the different configurations and see what I like best. I’m quite handy so can modify if required to make it how I want it. Ideally, maximum induction noise without heat soak is the goal but need to work out what I’m after first.

I’m not sure if it’s just me but I seen to had recently noticed a bit of a drop in fuel economy using E10. Ive got a suspicion that the ethanol content of fuel has recently crept up to closer 10%. In gaining at least an extra 2mpg from the car having swapped back to V-power. Doesn’t sound like much but it’s 10% in an RCF! Anyone else noticed anything recently?

It’s quite some time since I updated this thread but today I added a new modification to the car, a Takada intake. Fitment was a breeze, taking approximately 30mins and quality seems fine. Principle driver for the purchase was an increase in induction noise from within the car. Please see a couple of points below Not sure if I’m keen on the plastic ‘carbon’ box that comes with the kit. Either do it in carbon or plastic, fake carbon is worse than no carbon! The MAF sensor position could be a little better, cables are very close to other wiring and I’m worried they will rub over time. Induction noise is much improved and for all of the talk about how much actual power these add, it looks good and sounds better. At the minute I may get rid of the inlet box entirely at some point but only if I can maintain cool air in the area.
