  1. Expensive is relative. I thought it was expensive on the basis that a non-OEM non-return valve costs in the region of £1 on eBay.
  2. Thanks @Dixgas. Bottom right of windscreen. It's up for debate if it's in the vision area. Next question, should I go via my insurer for a chip (£10 excess, sadly £75 for replacement), or just pay for it? I appreciate all insurers are different but does anyone have any experience of a chip impacting their premiums?
  3. Hi All I got a chip today, the first in my years of motoring. A fairly deep one, and seems to have some sort of a crack (can see from the inside, but cannot feel on the inside). How effective are chip repairs? Do they sort it for good, or is it likely to cause issues or resurface later? After the horror stories here about windscreen replacement and the botch jobs others have been given, I'm hoping it doesn't end up coming to this. Thanks
  4. Chrome can be installed on Mac, without making it the default browser.
  5. Thanks Maxz, very useful insight. Any chance of some pictures to help us identify where these clips are, and recommendations for maintenance please? Cheers
  6. On my dashcam, I have no such voltage detection on the hardwire, it's all software driven. I set the voltage in app. Thinkware F770.
  7. I've not seen a hardwire kit with such a feature, so thanks for the photo. Not all dash cameras with parking mode have a voltage sensor either. In fact it was a rarity when I fitted mine (albeit a number of years ago now) to have such a feature. I basically had a choice of a Blackvue with a £200 add on, or a Thinkware with it built in. I'm sure the trickle down of technology means it's built into more cameras now, but is it common? I am not so sure.
  8. This is what you'll need. https://lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/parts/lexus-is/lexus-is-phase-iii-2013-present/lexus-is-3-engine-service-kits/lexus-is-phase-3-12v-starter-battery/
  9. Seems a bit unfair. Your job is to present the problem / symptoms. Whether they can find it or not I'd argue is irrelevant. What if there was an inexperienced technician looking at your vehicle that day and they couldn't find it due to their own shortcomings? That's not your problem. Your battery tester will help here. Take a voltage reading and log it. Run the car for the 1 hour as per manual. Take another reading each day. If within a week it's flat and you can't start the the car again, you can tell the dealer you followed the manual and you've got a record of the battery voltage each day. With such evidence, they can't argue there isn't a problem, and you've followed the instructions perfectly. Then leave it with them to investigate and sort!
  10. If you don't ask, you won't get. I know what I'd be asking for. What dealer did you buy it from?

  12. There are a number of after market reversing cameras but they're generic and may not integrate as nicely as you might like. I'm sure someone retrofitted folding mirrors and did a write up on the forum some time ago too. None of this was done in an OEM way of course.
  13. Any more detail on this much appreciated @rayaans How does one shut it down properly, any idea? When you say "dumps" the power, what power do you mean sorry? Power built up somewhere? And you mention battery drain. Is that a permanent parasitic drain even in day to day use?
  14. I'm sure you've seen this and have given it a shot, but a few people are hailing this as the solution on Club Lexus.
  15. Where'd you read this @rayaans? We should probably be more aware with the number of 12v battery changes going on at the mo!
  16. Good luck! Do keep us posted, lots of people changing batteries as a result of cars sat unused over lockdown.
  17. Did you sort this, @rayaans? Very worrying for what is a simple procedure, a battery swap!
  18. I think he meant, in a garage (where it's warm) or sat on a driveway where it will be minus 20.
  19. The dealer may want £60 or more, but there's people here who've done it with an app on their phone and a small OBD dongle. Someone will share more info shortly I'm sure. Otherwise, have a search on the forum.
  20. Yes! And here's something that backs this up: Using car in sport mode, turning the car off in this mode, then turning it back on next time I go out, I find I am reverted back to normal mode. When using car in eco mode and turning the car off whilst set in this mode, the next time I come to use it, eco mode is preserved. It does not revert to normal. Indeed, if starting the car in eco was not good for the car, it would not preserve it and instead revert to normal. Using sport from the get go can't be bad for it, it's more just to preserve fuel and maximise efficiency as far as I understand.
