  1. Whatever caused the fusible link to fail ( if indeed it has) may cause major damage to expensive components if it happens again with the protection now removed ( shorted out with that beefy black cable in pic!) Hopefully it could be something as simple as a loose connection ( unlikely though ) in the main busbar area.
  2. Wow, that’s a beauty! Does it sound like a Sherman Tank now? Soz can’t help with a supplier in your area, I’m in Bristol !👍
  3. So called ‘Space Saver’ spare wheels are Also known as ‘Fuel Savers’ by manufactures trying to reduce vehicle weight and Up the mpg!. Imagine ( at todays prices! ) the cost of transporting a full size spare wheel & tyre for 100,000 miles ( that could possibly Never actually be used!) Let alone TWO!!! Ouch £££’s 😀😀😀
  4. ‘Silicone’ you say…..I have used this in the past on rear light clusters and unlike silicone it does not actually ‘set’ but stays flexible and soft to allow for any movement in parts and sticks to plastic & metal alike ( silicone tends to stick to one or the other depending on which type you use) https://www.screwfix.com/p/no-nonsense-roof-gutter-sealant-black-310ml/67521#product_additional_details_container
  5. Is it just the foam gasket on the lights that had failed and slowing water in or some other reason for ingress?
  6. Do you intend actually selling the car anytime soon ( with its so far totally Lexus servicing history) or are you gonna keep this 14 year old car until it falls apart! ( like I intend to 😀) if the latter then do not pay ££££’s for Simple servicing to keep the car in a healthy state.
  7. Either side of the boot, behind the side cover trims and down low. see in this US owners club link.. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-2nd-gen-2006-2013/867724-found-out-why-our-is250-is350-and-isf-audio-amps-fail.html
  8. Can it refill with the correct Toyota WS atf or does it just use a generic ( bulk bought by the drum ) atf?
  9. IIRC the average age of a Lexus Owner is 50 Years, A Merc Owner 40 Years & a BMW owner 30 years! Says it all really, that the older you get the wiser you get and that Lexus owners are quite sensible!
  10. Well not the engine anyway, as it is NA and pretty ‘tamperproof’ regarding ‘mapping’ but cosmetically you can fill yer boots and blow the budget all day long…..see here
  11. If you are lucky then the ‘loud pop & bang’ will come out of the End of the exhaust like what you are trying to achieve! But back along I worked for EuroDollar RentAcar and in a Vauxhall Nova you could achieve this buy turning off ignition momentarily and back on again while you are moving and it would produce the loudest backfire ( try not to turn key too far off to engage steering Lock!!!) this worked 9 times out of 10 but could ( and did) rip the exhaust wide open mid way ( a bit like that dog in the Film ‘The Thing’ 😂 So if you want this unLexus like characteristic then I think you might need to get a Scooby or Mitzi!!
  12. Have you checked that brake pedal switch is good?, this needs to function to allow car to start.
  13. Sorry to hear you have problems, but how much ‘homework’ did you do prior to purchasing the 220 and why did you not lean towards the 250, the 220 has ( IMHO) got a tarnished history for not running as it should and it seems to work best if used for long/regular journeys, something yours did not apparently and so it is now behaving like it does. I have no answer for a ‘fix’ but hopefully someone who has exactly the same symptoms will post soon, you are not alone sorry to say.
  14. I don’t think the Bluetooth system on the IPhone is capable of transferring contacts over to car, this has been discussed before and ending up by inputting everyone manually if I recall ( android phones seem to have no problem!)
  15. At least it’s every 6 years/60k miles ( with the correct plugs!) Not like the wife’s Peugeot every 2 years or 20k !!!!
  16. So yes, according to the schedule they will be due at 120k miles, but they can, and do last a lot longer before replacement is actually required, The intervals in the schedule are so to keep the emissions to a minimum.
  17. I would be suspect that the technical aspects of the car may not have be maintained as meticulous as I would expect by someone who had ( In my opinion!) a very dubious taste for questionable modifications on this type of car!
  18. “how bad can it be.” Well…You have a clutch for a start, that can (and will wear out sooner or later!) be abused! And, for me anyway, I don’t want to be ‘stirring’ gears to get around, I rather waft, after all it is a Lexus. And the top gear is not suited to our UK upper speed limit, I think you’ll find that 70 mph at civilised revs sits between 5th and 6th which is a bit annoying!
  19. 🚒 I hear a ‘Woo Woo’ noise sometimes also!!!😂😂😂😂😂 Sorry, couldn’t resist…..I’ll get me coat and be gone…..
  20. Same boat here, bought a 2007 (38k miles!) and only got 48k on it now 5 years later all fully functional with an impeccable MOT history ( apart from a few previous advisories for tyres!! There’s a thing!) Car will prob outlive me….other nuggets permitting🙄
  21. Think you’ll find that the last disc (DVD) produced was the 2017-18 version.
  22. Warning Graphic Content😳 Not for the faint hearted, ( Self Tappers- Oh the horror!)😮
