  1. This was my fist auto car in 40 years and it is the best car I’ve ever owned ( and I have had new cars back in the 80’s) I don’t think you should struggle to get a good auto version, as the auto was a more popular version than the manual. And I do feel that owners of these cars ( and Lexus in general) tend to be more careful/responsible motorist and look after them so don’t be disheartened by the poor example ( there is always an exception to the rule) that you recently stood in front of ( been there-done that and soon after got to purchase my ideal motor!)
  2. I highly recommend having a drive in both the manual and auto version before buying a 250, for me it was a no brainier to have the almost trouble free motoring of the Lexus auto box instead of having to ‘stir’ gears in what is a very refined car.
  3. Yes I did notice they duplicated the video link with a different post title afterwards but I could not delete mine as it had been up too long and ‘delete’ post was not an option.
  4. Yes, just checked and he took the £32k option🤔…..so the RCF is gonna go back in the market mix!!!!!
  5. Well a Mr Green is gonna be showing this car in/around Peterborough sometime soon I reckon ( unless he chose to the the 32 large!)
  6. If you can stomach the audio then some good pointers in this vid🙄 https://youtu.be/0uG9BSeX_h4
  7. £17,400 is a good price, but will need a bit more spent on her to bring it up to what an ISF should look like when she goes out-out!
  8. ‘Highly rated” ? By who? There are No reviews on that link selling the unit! And on the AliExpress site, 2 reviews, 1 good & 1 Not!
  9. You Need to do a bit more digging I reckon as a car ‘registered’ here in March 08 could quite conceivably been ‘manufactured’ in Japan on or before Sep 07,
  10. 100k should not be a deal breaker on a very capable car if everything else stacks up, ie condition, service history, owners, and of course price, a used car is only worth ( in my eyes) what someone is willing to pay for it.
  11. Note that RHD & LHD IS250 have different layout for the factory buttons. Audio, Map, Disp, Climate etc are on different sides of the screen for each version ( RHD has got Audio,Climate etc on Right) not sure if this is important when purchasing an Android unit that still allows these features ( Climate controls etc) but I would double check!
  12. It most prob will as it is also the same on my 20 year old Mondeo!, the window mechanism control system needs to ‘know’ when the window has fully closed, it does this by detecting the increase in current going to the motor when you forcibly ‘keep closing it’ and ‘overload’ the motor. This is so it ( the control system electronics) can detect if for instance a person ( or part of!) gets trapped in the window opening, it can then stop and indeed retract slightly!
  13. The Moon(Sun) Roof will also need re-learning if you have one fitted, not that you will be using it any time soon! But come April time you may think it is broken!
  14. If you don’t like/want it….take the 32 Large!😂
  15. I am aware that this link will die quite soon ( and I am not advocating this site in any shape or form) but they do have a 2015 Carbon RCF “available” and someone Will get it! https://www.revcomps.com/product/2015-lexus-rc-f-5-0l-v8-carbon-coupe-or-32000/ ( mods, feel free to delete this post if you feel it fouls any rules 👍)
  16. Who would take a (nice) car with missing wheel nut(s) and a smashed fog light to an MOT? 🙄
  17. Gremlins… my VCS (Christmas tree lights etc) came on yesterday midway through a 125 mile journey from Heathrow to Bristol!!! Bugger I thought, car drove perfectly still, pulled in to Reading Service area, engine off, wait 2 mins, engine on then all fine all the way home!!!! Might interrogate it with Techstream if I can be arsed but if it drives seemingly all ok then I guess it is (almost!) all ok.🤞
  18. Top tip, when using these ‘split’ type sockets to undo ‘F tight’ sensors in aged exhaust systems put a suitable size Jubilee clip around the socket to stop it even thinking of splaying and not staying in total contact with the sensors Hex contact points.
  19. I personally have got the 2017-18 DVD (E1G) version in my 2007 IS but it is the 2005 (approx) Designed Operating System that lets its down with its low resolution graphics and limited touch screen options. Even though I have installed the Grom VL2, it is not without its glitches and at £500+ Not cheap and sometimes I still use my TomTom Professional 6000 going to new work destinations.
