  1. Take it easy on your new car it needs to be run in, wait till you get 10,000 miles on the clock.
  2. Is the underbody panals covered under warrenty?
  3. On my way home to London from the Birmingham motor show, travel at 70mph loud wind noises appeared, and got worse, so I pulled over on the hard shoulder to have a look. Looked underneath and found something is hanging off and had come loose, it looks like the under body panels, could not put it back in place as the bolts have fallen off. Now I’m in trouble so I was stuck travelling at 115miles at 50-60mph on the M42 and M40. Did not want to go any faster otherwise I could create serious damage to the car if the panels hit the ground (it probably could rip the entire exhaust). Looking back 2 months ago, I had a metallic noise coming from the right side of the wheel; the noise disappears when I apply the brakes. The noise was only heard between 5 – 10mph driving along side walls or parked cars as the noise was more prominent. Sent the car to the Lexus Dealer and left it with them to get it check out. Six hours later was called to pickup the car. Spoke to the service advisor as she seemed very unhelpful she said they did not find nothing wrong with the car so I said to her “as I said before the noise was heard only 5 to 10 mph in quiet areas”. Guess what the mechanic did? Drove it high speed on the motorway for half an hour and one and a half hour in noisy traffic. I said forget it I find somebody else to check it out. Now the Service advisor has charged me £55 for the inspection and SAFTY CHECKS and NOTHING WAS FIXED inc the door in the boot to put your ski keeps opening and closing (this was not mentioned to her) SAFTY CHECKS B*^%! This has not been inspected by the Mechanic and this is a Safety issue, imagine breaking at high speed being involed in an accident objects could be thrown into the passenger compartment and injure a passenger. Because the door cannot be kept closed. With all these SAFTY CHECKS RUBBISH for £55 look at the the problems I’ve had, and this is a very Serious safety issue. I will go back to the Lexus Dealer, and they are gonna be in Serious trouble!
  4. Maybe this might help http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...=exhausts+video
  5. That rear end looks dead close to the ground!
  6. That’s interesting yes is it possible? As I prefer to have a quieter car when I want it to be. Plus I already have that distintive whirr noise at low revs coming from the gearbox. Somtime it seems louder than the engine.
  7. Blimey! That bonnet is so flat even the Lump has completely disappeared (Does the engine still work? ) It’s a good thing the front screen didn’t fall to bits otherwise you would have been covered it cuts. Glad to hear your ok and the lorry driver. :)
  8. I would stick to the standard or better go for the shorter black ones I reckon the silver ones attract too much attention to vandals.
  9. A friend of mine owns a Mercedes C class 200 Kompressor (new shape) I dont hear any distintive whine noise, and the car aint that fast either. 0 - 60 mph in around 9 secs. All you can hear is the noisy 4 cyl engine, but its dead quite inside the car.
  10. http://www.lexusownersclub.com/gallery/alb...album01/aby.mpg That's Mat's car with the Hiper and Supercharger before it got transformed into the Monster we all now know - the Hiper is making the deep throaty sound and the supercharger is making the higher pitched noise - sounds bloody ace doesn't it?! Everytime I see boy racers at the minute I'm dropping a couple of gears and just revving it and they just look confused :P As for noise, it only really starts to wail when you go above 4,000rpm so below that isn't much difference, but you can tell that it's not normal anymore as it sounds more menacing. As for torque, yeah it's a big difference - think it's nearly 30% up on standard. I've uploaded the tech docco from TTE to www.mybad.co.uk - gives you all the stats etc. Sounds fantastic! Dam wish I had the money now, mybe this time next year I'm definatly buying one
  11. Does anyone have a video clip with sound of the Supercharged Is200? Really want to know what is like! Does it get noisy around town, 80% I use my car around town and I barely get it over 4000rpm. Does it improve low down torque?
  12. Thats gotta be either IS200 Supercharged or IS300, I dont think they would put a Standard Is200 in the Game
  13. I'll wait until I get the car to get a good Avatar but here are a couple of quick 'in the rain snaps' that ifraz grabbed for me at the dealers pic 1 pic 2 Is the front bumper touching the Lexus board? Better check for scratches :yack:
  14. Mark D If I were you I would take the steering lock off first put it in the boot and then get back in and start the car, otherwise starting car first and while at the boot of your car, some passer-by might jump in the driver seat of your car and drive off.
  15. It takes me around 2 to 3mins to drive off. I start the engine, insert all 6 of my fav CDs and drive off. By the time I arrive to work my engine had just warmed up.
  16. Has anyone seen this week Autoexpress? There is a New Rover 45 Looks almost exactly the same as a BMW 3 Series. Is this a Punishment for BMW after the split-up? Looks like we gonna see more BMWs on the Road http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/
  17. Does anyone have any idea what makes the gearbox whine noise?, I get this noise but only at low revs up 3k on 1st and 2nd gear. While driven though a quite residential area at 15 mph I put it into 3rd just to hide the noise. I want my car to sound more luxury as it should be. Is there any way to reduced the whine noise? Gearbox oil etc? Ive already taken it to Lexus Dealer and they said theres no sign of worn bearings.
  18. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/sho.../showtopic/1111 After looking at older posts, sounds as if whine or wirrrr noises is common on the IS200. I reckon this is down to the Clutch realease bearing, dont know if its the same problem on mine. Cant wait to get the car check out on Tuesday. Hope this problem can be sorted out. If anyone one gets funny noises on the car like Whine or Wirrr, get your car checked out.
  19. Scraped my front bumper the other day just because I was an hour late for work and one and only parking space left, and had to park against a wall. Then scraped the left corner of the bumper. The first layer of paint had been scraped off, but it’s a very small area. Do you reckon I can get away with it by paint spray that part of the area or would the whole bumper needs a paint spray? Has anyone had their front bumper resprayed? How much did it cost you?
  20. Im changing my Tail style lights to a Vauxhall Nova Style :P
  21. http://search.ebay.co.uk/search/search.dll...cordstoskip=150 Lexus Tail Lights for every car This makes me sick
  22. Yes mines just the same as yours. Maybe more of a wirrrring noise. Heard upto 3000 revs. Probably noise level doesn't increase so you can’t hear it above that
  23. After all this time I thought these noises was Charecteristics of the car. until I drove next to other Lexus's and found out there Engine is quieter than mine. I had this car for a month now, brought it from a Lexus dealer. I will see them on Tuesday. I know the six cylinder is what I should only hear (Buzzzz). Im I right?
  24. Yes it is quite a high pitched kind of wirrrr or whine noise, if it is the belt, does this mean if I press the clutch the the belt stops moving. Thanx for your reply
  25. one thing i forgot to explain about the whine noise, if I put press the clutch peddle leave my foot there and rev the engine at low revs, the whine is gone, but when clutch is released and rev the engine at low revs again, whine noise is heard. Is this whine noise down to a noisey gearbox, this whine noise is starting to remind me of my old Austin Metro
